Yeah, my general plan is to watch the global channel populations at various times over the next few weeks and see if we're already at the best time or what. My main concern was that when we do some of the longer SFs that 8pm may be a bit late for the east coast people who have to work early the next morning.

Had a good number show up this week, it seems many people needed a respec. There was also enough interest to run an Ice Mistral!
2nd Treespec:
Team: 8
Deaths: 4
Time: 24:15
Ice Mistral:
Team: 7
Deaths: 10
Time: 58:04
As usual here's the Photo Album.
I've added a new feature to the List back on the first page. It's the "Since Last Round" column and it basically shows how much the average time increased or decreased. So for example, Ice Mistral says "down 0:01:01" which means that the Ice Mistral we ran tonight lowered the average by 1:01.
Now, next week's SF will be the Imperious Strike Force, which I'm pretty sure everyone is familiar with by now. If you're interested make sure you have access to Cimerora and meet us there next Sunday, September 11th at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!

I'm pretty sure a lot of us are planning on making a couple of alts on the VIP server when Freedom launches so what I was thinking was that we should make a Protector Supergroup and a Protector Villaingroup over there for anyone who calls this server home. For my part I'd be willing to start up the VG. So does this seem like something you guys would be interested in?

I've been thinking about moving the standard start time for SFS up to 1pm PDT/4pm EDT. The main thing I want to know is if this time would be bad for any of the people that show up to SFS on a regular basis? Let me know either way! If I do end up changing the time it won't be this upcoming sunday but the sunday after that.

Not sure if this is even possible without new tech, or if it would even fall under the scope of FX, but is there a way to get power customization options for the various archery sets that will allow us to change the color of the arrows? My ninja MM has a hard time feeling like a stealthy ninja with the bright yellow fletching on the arrows.

Had very few people show up this week, but that's not unusual for the Ouro strike forces. Still had a lot of fun though, starting with the Mender Tesseract Strike Force:
Team Size: 4
Deaths: 2
Time: 21:39
Afterwards we had a dominator alt over to a mastermind for the Mender Lazarus Strike Force. We hit a snag at the end of this one with too many of those Warwolf bosses ganging up on our Tank(Warshade) along with AoEs wiping out the MM pets. Oh, and my dominator pulling all kinds of aggro like usual. But we eventually got through it with only one full team wipe.
Team Size: 4
Deaths: 15
Time: 43:38
I like how that Zombie is pulling a total Matrix move in the background. Anyway, I also remembered to take a few bonus screenshots for the Photo Album!
Next up on the List is the 2nd Villain Respec Trial, since I didn't have time to run it this week. The respec trials can award up to 3 different badges depending on how many times you've done them. Also, if we're fast enough I'll try to run an Ice Mistral too, since that one can be done in about 45 minutes. Ice mistral awards the Crystal Keeper badge as well as a nifty temp power. So meet up in nerva next Sunday, September 4th at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!

I saw Fescu advertising this in the global channels today, so I guess it's for tonight. No specific theme. Fyi.

Quote:Yeah, everyone's scores are below:Thanks for having me!
Out of curiosity, though, can you list how everyone did on that point system? Just wondering how bad I did from not doing any bribes.
@Dark Chaos - 395
@Omega 3 - 215
@Mave - 135
@Gordon Gorilla - 140
@Demon Shell - 180
@Burning Verto - 215
I think I at least learned a lot for the next time I do one of these. I need to think up a way for the contestants to somehow backstab each other, like true villains, without having a negative impact on the strike force run. -
Had lots of fun running my first costume contest! So what I did to judge was I assigned random point values to the 10 rules of the contest, breaking a rule got you the points while obeying the rule got you nothing. Then for the bribes and such I kinda made up the point values as I went along. In the end the reward pool was up to:
[Calibrated Accuracy: Acc/End (Recipe).50]
[Luck of the Gambler: Defense (Recipe).50]
[Quickfoot: Run Speed (Recipe).50]
[Quickfoot: Run/Endurance (Recipe).50]
[Tempered Readiness: Acc/Dam/Slow (Recipe).50]
[Numina's Convalescence: End/Rech (Recipe).50]
[Ghost Widow's Embrace: Chance for Psionic Damage (Recipe).50]
[Essence of the Furies]
[Essence of the Furies]
100,700,000 inf
The winner was @Dark Chaos with 395 points, followed by @Omega 3 and @Burning Verto with 215 points each. Also here's some screens of the contestants:
And that was only half of the special Laylapalooza edition of Strike Force Sundays! Next up was the Master attempt at the Barracuda Strike Force. Sadly Invincible Reichsman didn't want us getting that badge, but for the final fight we probably did about as well as I've ever seen a team do on this one. Also I crashed right at the end so I didn't get a screenshot of the end stats, luckily I wrote them down while the screen was frozen.
Team Size: 7
Deaths: 3

Next week we'll be back on the List with the Mender Tesseract Strike Force and the Mender Lazarus Strike Force. Also, if everyone is up for it, we'll run the Second Villain Respec Trial since those are all quick. So meet up in villain ouroboros next Sunday, August 28th at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT! -
Quote:FYI, stuns do not work. I've found this out both the hard way and the easy way.I have Gravity Well, and I know Sept does too...we should be fine. I hear stuns also work (in lieu of holds) in dropping the green's shields.
Edit: btw, This was the easy way.
Edit 2: Also, since this one is co-op I'll try to be there on my villain WS. His hold is also slotted as an attack, but since the ski chalet is open I was able to go buy a golden rings temp power with my candy canes. -

Ok, so on Sunday, August 21st at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT I'll be running the Laylapalooza edition of Strike Force Sunday. It'll be a Master attempt at Barracuda (level 45+) followed by a mini costume contest.
- The contest has a 100+mil inf reward.
- There is only 1 winner, this is survival of the fittest.
- There's no particular theme but here's a short list of rules:
- Cannot use orange
- Must use Booster pack costume pieces
- No catgirls
- Wings required
- Must be subtle
- Cannot use Booster pack costume pieces
- Must be obviously evil
- Cannot use black
- Cannot use red
- Must include prime colors
- The player whose costume breaks the most rules will win.
- You may bribe/flatter me for extra points as well as using slander on your opponents to lower their points.
- Bribes can be in the form of inf/recipes/salvage and will be added to the reward.
-
I got my SS/Elec brute from 47 to 50 on that Doc Q and about a dozen other characters got a handful of levels... I didn't really keep track of who got what.
-
Had a great double xp edition of the Renault SF. We got a full team and I remembered to take screenshots the whole way through, so there's a bunch extra in this week's photo album!
Time: 1:25:47
Deaths: 2
Team Size: 8

Next week we're deviating from the List and running a special edition of SFS which includes a Master run of the Barracuda Strike Force as well as a costume contest amongst the team members! I'll post more detailed info in the next couple of days, so stay tuned...
-
Yeah, I think everyone got about 3 levels on this and at least 2 people hit level 50.
-
So if everyone here shows up we should be full.
- Me
- Layla
- Stone Daemon
- Midnight Mystique
- Globetrotter
- Tigers Rule
- Stale
- Cass

On the saturday of double xp weekend I'm planning on running a Doc Quaterfield TF. Assuming double xp doesn't get pushed back again of course.
It'll be at 9am PDT/12pm EDT and plan on it taking at least 4 hours. The level range is 40-44. This is the longest TF in the game and has a whole bunch of "Defeat All" missions, so it'll be great for taking advantage of that double xp.
If you post in this thread to let me know you're planning on being there I'll try to hold a spot for you. However, I doubt I'll have a ton of people jumping at this one since lots of people regard you as some sort of masochist when you say you're going to do a Doc Q TF. -
The team filled up very quickly this week, funny how that happens when SFS and the WST line up.
Team Size: 8
Deaths: 12

Next week is double xp weekend... in theory anyway. >.> Next up on the List is the Renault Strike Force, which awards the Leviathan Badge as well as randomly awarding the Coral Amulet, Coral Hammer, or Coral Shards temp power. So if you want to spend part of your double xp weekend beating up fish people, meet up in sharkhead next Sunday, August 14th at 5pm PDT/8pm EDT!

Quote:According to This Post, also by European Support, that maintenance should now be done. However, that was posted over 20 minutes ago but the login server appears to be down still.Two different things happening. Website maintenance is what was quoted in the OP. That is for the CoH website. Not the servers. The servers are down for weekly maintenance right now, and that maintenance is taking longer than normal, as European Support posted in Announcements.

For the Sunday during Laylapalooza I'll be running a special Strike Force Sunday. It'll be an attempted master of Barracuda SF run along with a mini costume contest for the participants of the SF. It's going to be an evil costume contest, with a prize of 100mil inf, and the details are Here.
-
So there was some discussion this past week of running a special SFS during the weekend of Laylapalooza. Something like an attempted master run of Barracuda SF and a costume contest. I decided I want to make this a villainous costume contest though, so I'm thinking that all the participants of the MOcuda run will be entered (except me of course).
- The winner will get 100mil inf.
- There will be no 2nd or 3rd place, just 1 winner and 6 losers in a survival of the fittest style contest.
- Instead of a specific theme I was thinking of coming up with a long list of arbitrary and conflicting rules, and the costume that breaks the most rules wins.
- Also since this is a villanous contest, I will of course accept bribes and/or flattery to influence the final decision. (All bribes will be added to the reward, so it's sort of a gamble)

Quote:Not just fly, but have the players go into the swimming animation as well. This would not only enhance the idea that you're inside a big amoeba but it would also be practical for non-flying melee characters trying to take out the mitos. Sure I can use a jetpack, but this would still be a cool option.Haha! That is brilliant!
I'd worry a tiny bit that all of these additional details could muddy things up a bit, but, so long as you do it right and you think it looks right in action, I thin that'd be super.
All of this makes me wonder if they could add a group fly effect for any and all who enter into Hamidon... (I know people with powers that require the ground would hate me for that, but I still think it would be awesome).
