    and surely Psionic lance > Will domination I reckon you could also afford to drop scare for tactics with potential for a build up proc.
    And I know blasters are squishy and all but how could you pass on Electrical mastery's Em pulse giving you the largest stun stack (that I'm aware of in the game) with EM Pulse > Psyhcic Shockwave > Psychic Wail it'll only last about 3-4 secs unenhanced but mag 8 in 15' area is impressive then mag 6 to 25' for a further 6-7 secs say followed by mag 3 over a 40' area for the last 5 secs . Probably just overkill though really with the amount of dmg already dealt considering boost powers.

  4. To me it's to try and seperate the knee jerk reactions and Intial objections which should be refuted or corrected with the correct information or revelation of reasoning before test. This would allow the time on test to be a more realistic consultation period, with intelligent disscusion of the problem rather than knee jerk reactions and initial objections. Heh it'll never stop everyone belly aching but it might go some way towards helping the problem

  6. Given such a good solid foundation it would be a shame to not expand in anyway possible and change to the demands of it's market, not to do so for fear of becoming like another game is in the long run potentially fatal commercially IMO.
    To be honest your previous experiences sound like a nightmare mate. But there is too many other things involved to clearly analyze the impact of raising levels
    ( Gear>skills, unfair distribution of rewards, constant repetition to progrees (kinda think all MMO's will be guilty of this for a good while yet), Rigid and probably 'Rigidly enforced there guildy' (Dread to imagine the arguements involved in that one) team dynamics, significant real world commitment, there's probably more.).
    As an aside here Valkryst I read your post on Airports and It reminded me in one aspect at least of an idea I was mulling over a while ago concerning expansion that involved Sg's earning vehicles that essentially unlock new map areas (Van-small town, facories, country parks/estates,
    Jeep-Woodland,Coast,Lake,
    Helicopter-Islands, Ships at sea, Mountains
    Jet- World interest maps, both geographic and man made,
    Shuttle- Orbiting stations, A Moon or Mars base, Battle ships)
    Unfortunatly this now sounds distresingly like a 'Raid map' idea.
    You see to my point of view I'm not sure a game capped at lvl 50 would thrive for another 4 glorious years or twice as long again hopefully. Can I really see myself in 2016 still playing CoX my only aim in life to increase the % number of powerset combos available that I have lvled to 50 ???? but then maybe I just got a short attention span.
    And Hardrider through your toys out the pram FTW mate! only telling you cos I love you though don't shoot the messenger.

  8. The reason I think that this idea differs from 'f' is it overides the vectors involved and use all your potential travel ability to travel directly and as quickly as possible towards a target. Probably best as a separate click power you inherhet when you choose your travel power. What I think is interesting is it would inherently be diffent depending what travel power use
    Fly- of no help at all sorry
    TP- good for quickly closing them distances but careful going for high targets without a safety net!
    Speed-Top ground speed, weak vertically (unless chosen with CJ etc.)
    Jump-Great verically, slower than speed for horizontal travel.
    This I think would allow for some reasonable vertical control for both sides a factor that seems lacking in the dog fight style battles that occur.

    Oh gaias if only my search-fu where greater perhaps I would have indeed found that holy grail for all who seek knowledge of the mysterious taunt alas no.
    I was never around for Castles 'What we thought we knew about the mysterious taunt has been found to be mere phantoms and illusions' post so did not know the full heresy of what I quoteth.
    But finally, and thank you many times, perhaps my quest has not been in vain, for there before me the truth of taunt revealed. Unfortunatley doesn't really seeem to help with my Taunt enhancement problem as mag doesn't seem to be involved but I am glad I now understand it better.

  11. An onscreen floating number, in turquise perhaps, to represent the 'healing' provided by +hp max powers, like dull pain and frostworks.
  12. Taunt enhancements which state they enhance duration appear to enhance magnitude on the Detailed info, and enhancement summary screens. Is this bugged or mearly misleading text?

    Points 17,26 and 28 in this would seem to invalidate my hypothesis and the hypothesis that dmg done is somehow involved. Still leaves me wondering about my Taunt duration enhancement. Think I'll repost this as a bug (misleading text at least). Cheers folks

  18. When you doubleclick a travel power while targeting something you use all your speed and vertical ability to travel straight towards your opponent making travel powers 1/ useable in PvE without massive End drain and 2/ More accurate to how a melee charecter would use his abilities in PvP.

    Also to what Dr mechano said if the devs really do ignore the EU sector (1/4 of there audience by server count) then more fool them.
  21. I don't really know any other MMO's well but surely the 278 powerset combinations on heroside alone (not including epics) has perhaps more to do with the rampant altitis than a lvl cap has.

    Ok sorry maybe I'm being fasicious but I see a problem developing in the world of MMO's what was originally based on single player games of limited duration have become 5-10 year projects given that wouldn't it be advisable to think about the next 5-10 yrs now instead of being trumped by the biggest best new thing and all our work (devs hard work and our play time) go to waste.

  24. The reason Regen and possibly WP are thought of as abit funny, is because the effectiveness of the regen component is diffcult to assess mathmatically. If I have 50% Resistance logic tells me I now survive twice as many mobs now it's a lot harder to assess a regen bonuses matnmatical impact the only way I can think to do it requires components such as Ratio of time fighting to time resting,Dmg input per battle! figures that are a lot harder to come by.

    Maybe whats irks me so much about this is the process of nerfing. Now if your set gets a boost in the patch notes then it's like getting a little pressie and the devs get much player love ( well a bit anyways). Now if it's a nerf all hell breaks lose why? well someones just sneaked up behind you and robbed your favourite toy. So it's a neccasery evil you say, and I would tend to agree. What gets my goat is the way the company go about it which IMO is abysmal community relations. How could they improve this situation, well my ideas would be access to a 'Game Balance issues' list, a list of powersets that may be gifted or robbed and WHY Then a consultation process where community can have there say on Devs plan's and Dev's can better inform people of the data involved behind the decision, the current state of testing and what the plan is and WHY Then release the patch onto test for final community assement and onto live with complete patch notes explaing the adjustments made and of course WHY .
    So to conclude if the devs want to avoid a lot of community anger (We pay there wages after all) and want to see less WHY WHY WHY threads after every adjustment to abilities in the interest of game balance then they should be more open and considerate to there customers in there approach to such a sensetive subject.

    So to summarise I think the nerfing process needs A. a warning system and B. Open and ongiong community consultation (even if they ignore you and do exactly what they where going to do in the first place at least you would feel better that you had had your say and been agknowledged for it) as in theory Community Knowledge of the game > That of the devs (In total we have more hrs played than they do combined).
