New state to travel powers

When you doubleclick a travel power while targeting something you use all your speed and vertical ability to travel straight towards your opponent making travel powers 1/ useable in PvE without massive End drain and 2/ More accurate to how a melee charecter would use his abilities in PvP.

My brain hurts from trying to figure out how doubleclicking a toggle wouldn't shut it off.

Exactly how would it work? They would need to introduce a new doubleclick system for this.

A Dash To Target system could, in theory, go a long way to improving the viability of Melee AT's in PvP.

Perhaps double space maybe better or an icon on your power bar.
Sorry didn't mean to hurt your head.

I... don't get it. Try this.

Target your target.
Activate travel power.
Press the 'f' key.
Deactivate travel power.

Works for Flight and SS, and SJ to some extent. Teleport is another matter anyway.

That doesn't exactly work that well if you're supressed.

They aren't supressed until you hit something.
If you need a travel power to get to the next target in a group, you must be doing something wrong.
If you can't wait a few seconds to get to the next group you should probably cut down on your sugar intake.

It would, but how would you give out such a power? As an inherent at a set level? Or as part of a new power pool so that it could be slotted for range/endrdx/rchg etc, but would take up a power choice?

As an extra bonus to the travel power pool if you pick the travel power. A sort of Charge! only not enhancable maybe? With a cooldown of a 30 to 60 seconds maybe?

Which travel power? Justifiable for SuperSpeed and Fly perhaps... what about SJ & TP?

Yeah...that is going to be a little more difficult...teleport could be that brute elec thingy(without the effect). You need a line of sight of course.

SJ would be more difficult but could be justified by for example a mostly horizontal jump instead of vertical.

The reason I think that this idea differs from 'f' is it overides the vectors involved and use all your potential travel ability to travel directly and as quickly as possible towards a target. Probably best as a separate click power you inherhet when you choose your travel power. What I think is interesting is it would inherently be diffent depending what travel power use
Fly- of no help at all sorry
TP- good for quickly closing them distances but careful going for high targets without a safety net!
Speed-Top ground speed, weak vertically (unless chosen with CJ etc.)
Jump-Great verically, slower than speed for horizontal travel.
This I think would allow for some reasonable vertical control for both sides a factor that seems lacking in the dog fight style battles that occur.

Which is what pressing 'f' does for SS and Fly. The idea has somekind of utility for Teleport and SJ, for which 'f' doesn't really work, but only really as an easy-mode switch. You can Teleport directly on top of a target (I've done it, it's not that hard) and you can jump onto a target if you're good enough.

A Shadow Step (see GW) or as mentioned like the Brute power that teleports you to your target wouldn't be a bad thing exactly... having used TP quite a bit you can close easily if they are against a solid object but TPing close to a flying mob can be very difficult.
