    That was a suggestion I made long ago. Just added it to my list of things I want to see happen to blasters.

    Taken from the response to your post in Ask Statesman.

    What I find funny here is that if the blaster picks and chooses his targets from range he is no longer the damage king. If the blaster wants to deal more damage than the scrapper he is going to close to melee range and suddenly Statesman's arguement seems rather silly. Especially considering the amount of melee that is in the secondaries.

    Blasters are all about range Statesman? Since when? Was that before or after you put the melee in our secondaries? Do you recall when the blaster secondaries were actually melee secondaries. Sorry but Statesman's arguement does not hold up. Blasters were always seen as being in melee and at range, so giving the scrappers a higher cap because they were in melee but not giving the blasters a higher cap because they are also involved in melee is simply ludicrous.

    Notice Statesman did not say that scrappers were in melee more than blasters. He simply stated that they were involved in melee and thus were in a riskier situation more often. Of course this is in terms of a blaster that is sometimes in a risky situation at range. Only a blaster does get into melee, which thus puts him in the risky situation.

    Man what a poor excuse, just get rid of the mistake already and either give blasters the higher damage cap or remove it from scrappers. It is an insult to call an AT the damage king but then clearly giving a different AT the tools to be a better damage dealer. Ridiculous.

    Does this mean you are making a new baseline? Last I checked the base line was three white minions. Is this changeing?

    However since a blaster cannot stay at range indefinately due to the rooting nature of his attacks you cannot assume that blasters will not be in the same position that scrappers are.

    In gameplay blasters are frequently in melee, in the later portions of the game they cannot avoid it as they are mezzed.

    So your reasoning behind the blaster and scrapper damage cap seems ludicrous.

    Actually I don't mind the melee attacks. The defenses that are offered by the secondaries are melee in nature and that is the main problem with them. I have no problem taking melee to add to my damage but having things like Hot Feet and chilling embrace seem to be working against the grain.

    This is what I would like to see happen to blasters.

    1. Impliment PvP damage resist bypass in PvE.

    2. Increase the range of all primary powers to be greater than the Diameter of Foot Stomp. Greater.

    3. Take all PbAoE status effects and toggles in Blaster Secondaries and make them summonable drops or target toggles. Other than cloaking device of course.

    4. Make all current melee attacks have a range of 20 feet, either by changing the animations or just letting them have the range. Increase the damage on Melee AoE attack powers again.

    5. (stolen idea) Give each single target attack a -10% res that lasts 5 seconds. This not only helps boost the blasters damage a minute amount but also allows the blaster to help a team. Thus encouraging teaming.

    6. Swap the damage caps of blasters and scrappers.

    7. Remove the rooting effect from blaster attacks.

    8. Faster activation times on powers for blasters.

    9. Making level 32 nukes into more useable AoE powers like Head Splitter or Full-Auto and less situational all end consuming powers.

    Just my thoughts on where I would like blasters to go.
  10. Hmmm, a +7 AV managed to hit an Ice Tank through EA. Well I can believe that. I have never fought Bobcat with my Ice tank at any level so I was wondering if anyone has tanked bobcat with an Ice tank at any other level.
  11. On another note, it would be fun to have a /dev blaster make a tripmine field and then wormhole the entire mob on top of the tripmines.

    Seems like a good idea to me and I am sure you could get a /dev blaster to team with you doing that. Honestly how often to /dev blasters get to use their tripmines in groups?
  12. You will at last have to six slot Frozen Armor to survive. Actually that and Wet Ice otherwise you will not be able to fight even level minions and Lts. That is at least twelve slots going to only smashing and lethal defense all the way till level 26.

    Also whatever happened to my "Soloing a Blaster is not hard!" guide that I wrote like just after Issue two. It was still here until the last cleaning, just wondering what happened to it. It had alot of great information on soloing from blasters all over the forums.

    There is an RPG that has cutscenes and they do add alot to the game. Its called Guild Wars.

    I was commenting on just that line about having never hearing anyone ask for more story content.

    Yes I made posts a long time ago for more story content because it seemed that the content and stories repeated themselves. Almost verbatim in some cases. I mean why are the vahzilok trying to poison the waste sewage system? It will hardly effect the city but we are supposed to get all riled up about it and fight the vahz. I mean if it hits the sewage treatment plant it will......surprise get treated along with the rest of the sewage.

    So alot of us asked for better srtorylines and a few new ones added in with the updates instead of the kill xxx missions.

    After release I made a total of ten posts asking for more content and better content.

    Those are just the posts I have made. I posted on more than a hundred similar posts before there was a suggestions forum.
  18. The question is at what point do you limit teaming to restrict powerleveling. In my opinion the current setup of CoH is good.

    I don't have a problem with powerleveling and none of my characters that I play have been powerleveled. While I have teamed with people that were several levels above me and opted not to sk to get more xp I could still bring things to the party and got in the action and took risks for that xp.

    Even though some people would call that powerleveling because I was getting alot of xp for my level I consider it a just reward considering the risks I was taking facing +7 mobs and actually goint at them.

    I don't feel that we should restrict teams beyond how they are already restricted, I think teaming should be encouraged. Yes it facilitates PLers but it also facilitates friends.

    In my opinion playing with friends and having fun is alot more important than some people leveling in a corner.

    Even without herding they were over and done with so fast they were a joke.

    I was talking about the specific mission in the OP. If you can herd an AV in ten minutes and all the minions on a map while getting all the glowies my hat is off to you.

    Yeah, it has. The change to the Wolf mission seems to have hurt non PLers more than the PLers. Or should I say the non-herders more than the herders. This is just my experience.

    There are plenty of missions for PLers to herd now. The only people this effects in a negative way are the non-PLers. In my opinion the mission was made unfun for the average joe who now has to race through the mission to complete it unable to take the time to enjoy it.

    I am still getting plenty of tells from people who want a kinetics defender to buff their people up before they nuke.
  22. There are different missions to farm and herd on. Trust me on that. My kinetics defender just started getting tells for a few of them.
  23. I feel as though I will now miss something that the game offered. I never PLed on Wolves and I feel that I missed out on some of the content that was in the game.

    I don't suppose they would consider adding a new herding mission that gives tons of xp? I really want try out the power leveling thing, it sounds like it might be fun during the dull spots.

    Wouldn't it be nice if an attack did multiple kinds of damage that it would get defended by the higher defense then resisted by the lower defense?
