Quote:yeah sirens has been lacking on the numbers game lately...but i still love itReally? RV PvP on Freedom is like nothing else in the game. The numbers can be ridiculous on some nights. And when the sides are even, it's pretty amazing.
I stayed exclusively in sirens from I13 to about I14, because RV was really laughable in I13 when elusivity was king. Imagine a whole zone of defense melee toons, with nobody being able to hit anybody else lol. Anyway, sirens can be very fun, but lately it seems to be a ghost town compared to RV. Seriously. -
Quote:may be true in RV, but SC is my main zone, our pop is a bit lower, and have no trouble there. But yeah, i understand ur point. Haven't gone to RV yet, but getting there...-tohit is only underrated in duels probably. It's fairly useless in a zone, since even if you debuff some guy, there are 4 others attacking you that you didn't debuff....and all of them can knock off your toggle. Makes playing a rad especially hard. In a busy zone, it's straight up impossible to keep a toggle on anybody for longer than like 5 seconds.
-
Quote:^this..but shhh dont tell them, then we will see -tohit all over the placetoggle drops aren't as significant if they are missing often.
i fought an MA/Regen a few weeks back.. yeah, i got detoggled ten times in the match, but since hurricane lingers, and pvp is "SO FAST NOW", toggling up hurricane at the top of a jump arc towards him isn't that much of a big loss.
consistency is key, and i don't think anything other than SS or a build with high inherent acc can do that.
-to hit is really really underrated. -
im talking post i13...dont get me wrong, by "wreck most things" i really mean i do well against most things not including doms ... however i fought an SS brute today, he was running from me ...if im not mistaken hurricane debuff lasts like 10 sec after it drops or somethin, but with my thunderstorm going along with it, those stacked -to hit debuffs and my small heal put that brute into a world of trouble. I'm willing to test this against any brute/tank that isnt gravely IO'ed cause im not to that point yet and pvp ios make a world of difference. He is level 37 with a number of sets mainly to help with my recovery, havent added any procs or +dmg stuff yet
Here's an idea of what my fights have been like
Vs.
Mind/Fire Ioed dom - lost horribly
MA/Nin stalker (not sure of io status)- lost horribly
Zylo (SS/WP) - lost by a VERY thin margin
Em/nin stalker (very much ioed)- lost by thin margin
Mind/Thorn - Won, couldnt hit me
Mind/Fire - Won couldnt hit me
Nin/Elec - Won
Em/Regen stalker - won by large margin
Thugs/Pain - draw
Thugs/Traps - draw (with mms, i just heal and heal and heal when my health is low without attack to maintain endo)
SS/Fire brute - Won, first time his endo was shot, second time he ran, but i chased em
It's pretty tough for anything to break through the debuffs + about 13% def which isnt much but plenty when paired with loads of -to hit. when I fought zylo, he basically beats me because my endo cant really hold up against him...yet >
But im always up for a friendly fight, so find me in SC usually or pm me and im down to test against any toon. -
[QUOTE=black_barrier;2437579]on that same note my storm/dark fender wrecks most everything ive encountered. Even SS cant hit through my lovely debuffs
-
Lots of good stuff in this post, specially the one where someone noted all their corr experiences thanks. I don't necessarily run toons JUST to be different but I don't want something that is likely to get nerfed...but uhh...hmm...I just hate heat x and think it will be nerfed, but I am indeed looking for the best of the best.
-
I heard that sonic/cold was pretty amazing 1 v 1/arena..and well, so far...it seems like i need to invest a ton of cash into mine to even make it playable. My question is basically, what are some pretty decent 1 v 1 corr builds? Elec/therm....no ty...but any other recommendations noted.
-
Quote:Trollers are excellent pvpers and terribly annoying. When you get the damage up right, they can be as deadly as any dom.I doubt any controller will do well in a PvP setting, a Fire/Kin I know with experience doesn't NOT do well...
But my friend's Kin/Arrow Defender was doing pretty good. He used all of his Endurance and Hit point sucking powers until they were dry, then used his arrows to finish 'em off! -
If they nerf nerf the **** out of heat x then they should at least nerf the **** out of elec. Sentry or w/e is a very annoying power...
-
Quote:Here is a little something I slapped together real fast that should help any end problems you may have. Instead of leader I went stealth, its all in playstyle I suppose. I just like having that just in case ability to phase if need be. Has 200% recovery and 43 KB protection. Anyway, GL getting your build lined out :-)

Hehe, that's cute. I like it. Was thinking about adding phase, I decided to go leadership so I could stop stalkers better. -
Ok, this time looking for either thumbs up so I can get to work, or more advice. I feel that this is pretty solid and any changes I make now would be too minor to really matter.
Got ss, hasten, +end proc, 41 kb protection, and a ton of +recov bonuses. Thanks guys

Thanks, was able to get to that number without gimping myself.

Is 36.38 sufficient? Or should I go for more, or less kb?
-
Quote:You should really reconsider getting super speed for another travel power, if you ever run into a TA corr, anything with slow movement or web nade it would be the death of you. Also there's really no point in getting weave, since it only provide a extra 3% defense when you compare it to maneuvers, like Mac stated above you will never get pass 20% defense thanks to DR. Power Mastery would help you alot more then psi mastery, conserver power, power build up to help with dark blast lack of damage, and no aim, plus TF for your big hitter. Think about changing some of your slots around, and get as much +rercorvery as possible.
Oh I forgot about Knockback protection. ^_^
yeah ive been focusing on getting a lot of +recov and also tryna figure out the kb protection madness. The main reason i took psy mastery is dominate, it's hard to escape doms because they pretty much hold me till im dead
But I honestly have noticed a big difference when I have weave and steamy mist on...Forgive me for being kinda new to 1 v 1 pvp, but 20% def + a load of -to hit seems good to me in practice.
I'm also confused about the maneuvers things tho. It has less base def that weave, how can it get more def 0.o !? makes my head hurt bad. Also it is more end heavy. But yeah, I suppose throwing maneuvers instead of weave does save me a total of 3! friggin powers lmao.
Good advice guys, gonna rework the build again and see how you all like it. -
Also, how can one slot manuevers for better def than Weave? 0.o i just run weave and steamy mist and my def is decent relative to -to hit destruction. Also, dark is really accurate. im thinking of slotting kismet.
-
hmmm...gonna play in mids then get back to you guys. As i mentioned, thus far the toon is doing fine. I just drawed with a MM pain/thugs but only because of my end or else he would be dead lol...but yeah, gonna work out of the fighting pool and see what i come up with. i dont really see the need for another travel powers, hasten..maybe
-
YAY I ROLLED ONE! Love this toon to death, I find that when I get into melee range NOTHING can hit me. However, the damage is lacking and also there are still endo problems after iv'e done quite a bit of endo control.
Basically I am looking for tips on this type of toon for playings. Here is my playstyle.
I use weave, steamy mist, and def bonuses from ios, I always start with my high dmg fast attack then my other one, and other than that i have a heal...matter of fact here is my planned build.

Quote:Yeah, I used to stand still in pvp simply because people "Expected" me to and I am a scrapper. I get the "wow you run a lot for a regen" comment a lot in zone and arena, 9/10 my kill death ratio is pretty damn good so they start wining.Regen is actually not that survivable when it comes to just standing in 1 spot. A few strong hits in a row can put you in a lot of trouble. It's the moving around that lets regin become unbettable, since it gives you the few precious seconds to regin yur healthz.
Think of it as fighting an AV. You'd be dumb to skip parry/DA in that case, and it's actually the one power that allowed my BS/regin to fight AV's back when I used to PvE. Without it, I was getting 1-2 shotted. With it, I didn't get hit.
And fight club is like fighting an AV. Except the AV probably has more skills at CoH than a typical FC opponent :P -
Quote:nice..but yeah i recently took phase on my regen scrapper and it is super unexpected lol...love it...lolphaseI have both a 50 elec/regen and a kat/regen as you can see in my sig, while neither were made to be tru wryrs, because I do enjoy real pvp, I can honestly tell you that kat goes a long way in duels, stacking DA and you've won... Elec has mad burst dmg, but if you're fighting a BS (as you said you want to), and they stack parry enough you're not likely to win the match... Or so I find, so I took phase shift for the oh sh** moments, and for the 'ROFL PHASE' comments in duels. ^^
-
-
I need a good fiteclub/arena melee duel toon. I'm talking melee vs melee not ranged. So, elec has all that -end stuff and kat has all that +def and quick dmg stuff...so...which is better? I mainly want something that can take out BS/regen scrappers. I have my own BS/regen lvl 50 also...but i hear katana is deadly
also, im not familiar which either one, so what should i take from those? -
