I have posted in the CAPE forums about the idea of a base tours event. I'd like to tease this idea out a bit more before organizing anything. Suggestions are welcome.

I've been on a couple highly enjoyable PuG runs where the leadership has been very solid. Just reminds me why I love Champion.

Looks pretty nice. I've been entertaining the idea of hosting a base tour event on Champion to let others into the base, have a look around and gather ideas. I know Dinah did one a few years back. Might be due for another.

Quote:My interpretation of what Silas is saying is that many melee players assume there is one way to play their character. This results in their solo play being identical to their team play. A good melee player is going to take their team into consideration. If the team needs a leader because no one is jumping forward, then yes, as a melee character you are well suited to do that. In contrast, if the team has two 'leaders' because both melee are always charging without looking, that can be counterproductive. If you're in a situation where everyone is in one location and dying while you are in another, perhaps it's time to reconsider how you're playing.Isn't that what you wrote, above? I could have sworn you wrote:
Perhaps I'm dense (I get that a lot).
The bottom line is be aware of your team. Teams are not going to be identical so your play style is likely not going to be either so long as you are making an effort to observe and adapt to what is going on with your team. -
Welcome to Champion!
Our two main global chat channels, BMT of Champion and Champions United, have been at maximum capacity for a little while. I'm sure a moderator will contact you when a spot is available. It is definitely worth it to be in those channels and will make finding other players to team with substantially easier.
Otherwise, if you need any help or have any questions, do not hesitate to send me a tell @Amygdala. Cheers. -
Looks like a fun time. I have an Illusion Controller I'm leveling, but it is pretty low level at the moment. We'll see how long I keep it.

Quote:There are many players on Champion that enjoy speed runs/TF challenges and they are not all from the same group. This particular 9 man CoP was completed by players from different groups. There are many other players out there that could have easily been included as well.So I'm curious is the champion speed runner's group an exclusive clique? Thinking of making a corruptor here to join you guys but no point doing that if it is.
So in that sense, there's nothing really to 'join'. It's more the fact that many of us have been playing on Champion for years and are aware of folks who are generally interested in these types of challenges. -

To Shadow Raptor:
Just wanted to say thank you for stepping up to lead this event. I think it sounds like a fun theme. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but that's why we have other themed nights going on, such as Rads, Lords of War, Hellfire, Brutal Bruiseday, etc. My schedule is somewhat erratic lately, but I'll try to make it to one.
Once again, to Shadow Raptor and really everyone else who dedicates time and effort into events for other players, thank you. -
First of all, welcome to Champion!
Secondly, as for advice, what Cherry and Shay said. I'll add for emphasis that you don't need to join an SG on Champion. Sure, there are a lot of great SGs around, but think of those as pockets of a much larger, very active community.
Please don't hesitate to send me a tell @Amygdala if you have any questions or need any help. -
Although I find this hilarious and commend Boo Kitty for putting her bidee to work in this manner, I'm afraid Fanged Knight may get ideas...

Just wanted to apologize to my team. I was leading the yellow taunt team and crashed before the raid started and was unable to log back on.
Thank you to whoever ended up leading that team. Hope everything went well! -
Best wishes, Tom. I hope you are able to make it back.
