PS: I suppose all that is left, are the hardcore fans of the game - whereas the devs can do no wrong; which is too bad, the game could have benefited from a complete re-write, but alas, NCSoft just does not expend capital on things like their products. -

I learned there are people still farming <whatever> for some unknown reason... that's mental.
It made sense when there was a reason (end game, pvp, other people, etc); now, it's just sad. I've not even crafted an IO the last several toons I leveled up. Just pointless to. There are no challenges*, nothing in the end-game that is worth doing for anything and pvp is basically non-existant.

I am not thrilled with AION. Been letting my oldest boy play (even he's lost interest in CoH, and I thought he'd be into it for a long time). He has been at level 13 for the past two beta tests, so I don't think he grasps AION or doesn't care (probably the latter).
Maybe I'll check it out when it's live; but for CoH, I am also just waiting for expired accounts (3rd is gone, second has another 2 weeks or so, and main acct is paid through Oct. unfortunately).
I didn't even waste the ten bucks on the ****** Pack that was just released.

After some basic testing in the arena with my Earth/Thorns vs. a Spines/SR and a Spines/Dark scrapper, I have to say: it's likely a nerf bat is coming for doms.
Every attack my /thorns did was WAY more than the scrapper version (with a build-up!). I mean, out-of-the-park more.
Their throw spines did under 100, my throw thorns did well over 200. Impale: about 80 vs. 240+
I mean, it was grossly sick. Granted, we could both kill each other... the dom with less HP didn't need as much damage to take down, but I had to ask myself (at least regarding thorns/spines): why play a scrapper?
My dom got MORE resistance than the SR (but I had little trouble constantly hitting a defense-based toon, as I am earth and thorns...). Also, I have WAY more attacks. I didn't need to take 8 defensive powers, I could take 8 more attacks.
I love the pvp feel, the raw power, but I am certain we'll soon see all doms and not much else in RV (maybe a few MMs or something).
Doms needed something, and boy did they get it. A little too much. I expect some powers (on a power-by-power basis) to be looked at.
Should a dominator with even-level SO's be able to 4- or 5- shot a fully IO'd out scrapper? Especially when the scrapper can maybe 4- or 5- shot *if* they get a couple crits.
I guess in a 1 on 1, it's not bad, but this really is broken for zone/FFA. I mean, blaster damage & resists but with lots of mez and debuffing? Wow.

Well, I've been here since issue 1 and I have to say that the "oooo, new and shiny" of Issue 15 was the fastest to fade of all issues.
Granted, all new-and-shiny things do fade, so it's a matter of time. This one lasted about 2 hours. Just long enough for about 3 blue-side Reichmann TFs (RTFs) and to check out the dominator buffs. Leaving about 45 seconds to see the new faces / costume things +change emotes.
Wow. Seriously this is a record BY FAR! Even the last two wimpy issues had more (albeit, the pvp nerfs were "more" in a bad way). I mean, talk about setting the bar lower!
A few years ago (heck, maybe even 1 year ago) this would have been a "major patch" rather than a "major update" - which is what we used to call new issues: major updates.
I mean, don't get me wrong, the new RTF is a nice TF - quick, simple, easy on the travel, etc. and will be a great break from the ITF. Shoot, we were doing ITF+RTF in about an hour, so the merits were decent.
I know there are plenty of dev-cheerleaders who bask in the glory of all that is CoH, and I do know I am pessimistic and a cynic; that still does not change the fact that Issue 15 is a load of weaksauce shot out all over the fanboys' faces.
For me, it's more confirmation that I need a new game (and have lined a few up).
Dom changes and the hero-side TF were nice, I'll give them that, but the rest is pretty ho-hum (haven't done the villain SF, as I heard it had some pretty nasty bugs still).
Finally, as always, the train doors STILL DO NOT WORK!

My Earth/Thorns still feels wimpy, but does use more endurance. Granted, there is a slight boost to damage, but with Earth/Thorns, there never really was anything there to begin with for damage.
I made the toon for AoE control / debuffing (-DEF a lot!) and it's still very ho-hum performance-wise. Granted, I know I took the worst combo for damage, and it was purposely done (earth is my fav. control set, and I enjoy thorns despite the poor performance).
I can say the /fire and /elec sure are nice! All the FoTM pvp builds will greatly benefit from this boost. Too bad there's not much pvp anymore.
Overall, I can see AT-wide that the changes were good and needed. Still some stinkers, but with all sets it is like that.
Still, I finished this "issue's" content in about 2 hours; 27-min TF blue side (waiting for red-side SF to get fixed) and saw the smidgen of costume-related things. Not really doing AE design (just powerleveling, etc) so I haven't edited missions to see the new stuff there.
Other than dom buffs, the issue is a bit lacking. Guess it doesn't matter, time expires soon enough and new MMO's look promising.

So my question is: What is Test Server for now?
I purposely did not go to test, as I do not agree to freely test new content (though I understand some people love to do that); however, it does not seem reasonable to have a TEST server, then have to test things once they are on a live server.
Hasn't history in this game proven over and over and over: you will get your testing done by all of us (free) when you rush to live; I expected a couple more patches and downtime this week as you correct many of the issues that will creep up.
Now, the "team" has locked out the public, and it likely will still need some patching later this week once the general populace has at it.
Whatever, I've already pre-ordered the next MMO... just living out my last months of pre-paid for this game.
Good luck to all the cheerleaders who are left here, I'm sure it'll be oodles of fun and excitement for years to come for you all.

I'd have to re-make radical roy, as he was some serious beefcake.
Other than that, I don't know how to dress like a deli.

Well, if you're looking for fun, AR/Dev/Munitions is loads of it!
Granted, you'll be stuck in animations for most of your action, but that's OK... you didn't want to be the most efficient killing machine, you wanted concept; and concept you'll get with AR/Dev/Munitions!
I even took hover/fly on my AR/Dev and it's pretty cool. I am also surprised that no one has mentioned tactics (no, not the pool power) for this. /DEV by itself requires a completely different playstyle for blasters. AR only adds to this.
Plus, you do get some damage bonus from Targeting Drone to Snipe (maybe others, but it's minimal / not really worth detailing). Also, for just PVE where to-hit/acc aren't so crucial, the T-Drone allows only 1 or none (for full auto/ignite) accuracy enhancements. I mean, for SO's. I don't plan to use IO's for my AR/Dev, as it's PVE and not really needed.
What I like to do is fly above a tight spawn, drop caltrops (put ranges in it) and ignite (again, with ranges). As the mobs on caltrops will mostly try to run, and shoot you less, it buys you some time. After the ignite patch is down, hit Flame Thrower and/or full auto, and you're golden.
I do not think an AR/traps corrupter is better, as it lacks targeting drone and cloaking device. The FFG is pretty slick and helps with most mezzes, plus is better DEF than cloak, but for playstyle, the Corr and Blaster are very different.
AR/Dev is also cool with a teammate or three, and on TS or vent, coordinating snipes. Pretty fun stuff.
I've played every blaster primary and secondary, and I am really having PVE fun with AR/Dev/munitions... but I will reiterate, it is NOT the most efficient blaster. Especially when you will constantly be watching your "defiance" drop with all the long activations...

Also, if you can live w/o the HD Tuner, you prob. can save another $30... look for the T260 (not T260HD). Anyway, Samsung makes decent LCDs, from my experience.

A little bit ago, I made an Energy Aura brute (too weak to couple it with mace, so I went Dark Melee). I have played it to level 40....
Anyway, EA has to be the flat-out worst secondary I've ever experienced with a brute.
Seriously, no aggro aura + a stealth = crappy herds. But that's actually OK, because if I did manage to herd (well, the corrupter herded much better) I would mostly get pwn'd pretty darn quick!
The end-suck/heal is OK at best, and yeah, looks decent if you have 10 enemies around you. But if you have 10 enemies around you, they'll just 4-shot you anyway, heal or no.
Soloing is not bad, but a 3-yr old can solo pretty much any AT w/o enh's in this game, so that's not really a reliable indication of a set's strengths.
The tier 9, Overload, is very nice, and if I could live in it, it is very survivable. I have just resolved to: a) never roll a type-defense toon again, and b) ignore EA as the bastage-stepchild of the brute world.
On the other hand, SR was very survivable! Took some doing to get it reasonable (about 30+ levels), but compared to EA, it's gold!
No aggro aura on a brute... and they cap that with a stealth! Wow, and they didn't want spines or ice because those slowed building fury... did they even play EA?
Anyways, I might push to 50 and see how LoLz-worthy it is in RV, I've only used SO's for now; if it looks remotely viable in zone pvp, I might slot some cheap IO sets... not many set bonuses for typed defense.

Personally, I think NCSoft has a stake in some of the RMT sites, so the player database is sold / used for marketing purposes.
Either that or their internal security has been compromised / login server hacked.
I mean even people I know who have used the mail would prefer to turn it off. I do not know anyone that finds it useful.
Besides, the game probably doesn't have much life left in it which is why we are seeing "fire-sale" prices from the RMTers. They want to get rid of inventory ASAP and move on to games that have populations.

Slax can probably remember, but we did do an inconceivable in under 20 I think. I remember doing a mary-a-minute. That's a good pace.
I'd love to have gone, but will be camping tonight/tomorrow with my kids and the scouts.
