  1. I have both my stone tank and my shield/kinetic tank on ready.
  2. Thanks again to my teammates for running a great Dr. Q TF! I remembered to grab a few screenshots along the way...

  3. Sorry, Dongonyei, if we started too early without you...

We had a good turnout for Sunday's TF run! I wanna thank all who ran what was for me the fastest Dr. Q at 3:23 time.

Team photo at the Portal Corp sign towards the last 4 maps.

Now, to get Sara Moore TF organized...
  4. Okay, for the Sunday team, can we aim for a 1 pm EST start time?
  5. I wonder if I should bring either Greystone Aegis (50 stone), my first tanker; or Witty Repulse (50 kin/shield) my most recent?
  6. @Battling Beastman is asking for a spot either Saturday or Sunday. It depends on how many more sign up.
  7. SUNDAY DR. Q TASK FORCE
Where: Firebase Zulu (connected to Portal Corp in Peregrine Island)
When: recommended start time early afternoon (1 or 2 pm EST). I ask for votes on the matter, to the Sunday team to decide.

Objectives: Defeat a ton of floating eyeballs. Also, look for the new Exploration badges in the FBZ zone.

    2)

  8. SATURDAY DR. Q TASK FORCE

  9. It's time. The calling of heroes (and rogues if able) for the Shadow Shard Task Forces is now.

The plan is that during the weekend (either Saturday or Sunday) we can get at least one team going on the task force by order of zone/level. First up: Dr. Quaterfield in the first zone, FireBase Zulu.

    http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Dr._Qu...eld_Task_Force

Dr. Q TF is set at Levels 40 - 44 (auto exemp, natch, for anyone over 44). It requires a FULL TEAM of 8 players to begin. As in all things CoH, it helps to have some balance on the team: considering the type of villains you face - Rularuu especially - you really need a few mezz-protected types like Tankers, Brutes, Scrappers and Stalkers on hand as well as Defenders et al for buffs and protections.

I find it helps to get sign-up sheets going, planning ahead (because it takes FOREVER to get a PuG TF going). So I'm going to set up two sign-up sheets: One for Saturday, and one for Sunday.

Dr. Q is one of the longest TFs in the game: by sheer number of door missions you have to run. It's sped up a lot since the early days, but don't be surprised if this takes you more than 4-5 hours to complete. 6 hours is best-average time for what I recall. This is why I suggest, for this TF at least, to start early in the day as possible. Best situation is around 1-2 pm EST if that's okay with people.

I won't be available for Saturday: I am busy elsewhere (Comic book writing event, actually). But I will do what I can to show up for Sunday's TF attempt. That sound alright? :-)

Okay, sign-up sheets are below. Good luck this SHARDTOBER, people!
  10. ...can I get a woo-hoo so I can feel the shardtober love?
  11. I have an Exalted Champion SG set up. Tons of room for more members. If anyone's got an alt on Exalted that needs an SG home, send me global tell to @witty librarian and we'll coordinate an SG invite. Danke.
  12. Starting on Oct. 1st, that Saturday, it's time to renew that most ancient of traditions: running the Shadow Shard TFs!!!

From Dr. Q to Faathim the Kind, there's 4 weekends for each of the 4 Task Forces:
Dr Qaterfield in FireBase Zulu (Oct. 1 - 2)
Sara Moore in the Cascades (Oct. 8 - 9)
Justin Augustine in the Chantry (Oct. 15 -16)
Faathim the Kind in the Chantry (Oct. 22 - 23)

All four TFs require a full team of 8 to start, so we need to get people aligned and prepped for both Saturday and Sunday of each weekend. I need to start getting interest from ye and your SG allies towards getting some solid Task Forcing done.

BONUS: There are reports of exploration badges now in each of the four shadow realms. For you badge completists, this is a good time to be arunning the Shardtober events...

I'll get a sign-up sheet for Dr. Q up on the forums here next week, before Oct. 1st rolls in.

    Spread the word: SHARDTOBER...
  13. Well, it's getting closer to that time of year... SHARDTOBER!

And no, this isn't the hunt for Incarnate Shards... well, unless they drop on the Level 50 Task Forces...

Shardtober: when teams form to take on each of the four Task Forces set in the other-dimensional realms known as the Shadow Shards. Each weekend in October, we tackle Dr. Q, Sara Moore, Justin Augustine, and Faathim the Kind's challenges against Rularuu, Nemesis, Crey, Circle of Thorns, and Gods!

Here's the first poster I crafted:

    Get ready for... SHARDTOBER!

    Tanker Tuesday

Normally I would ask you to TANKER ME on Freedom server tonight, but I will be late getting home in time (9 pm est) to be there at the start. I will endeavor to log in and hopefully someone will have room for me on a mish team or something. Thanks.

    What the hell?!

So does your ex-wife get the French and German channels while you get the English ones? How did the settlement come down on Alt custody?
  18. Twas a fun Tanker Tuesday, and I'm glad people enjoyed it!
  19. I commissioned Mike Rooth to make cover art for an epublished story, "The Hero Cleanup Protocol", that is now published through Smashwords.com and ought to be available through most ebook retailers any day now.

I think he did great work on it!
  20. It turns out I was overclocking the graphics card, so the settings were reset to default and the computer seemed to run okay for two days on high-end graphics stuff... the computer still seems to run a little too hot when I play CoH though... :worry:
  21. Actually it might be the graphics card. The repair guy thinks I am overclocking the graphics card, forcing it to crash.

Problem is, it was supposed to get repaired by today, but no phone. So the gaming machine is still not available for the moment. And a dearth of LAN cafes in my area is crimping mah style.

With luck, I should have the computer before this Saturday when we will hopefully have the Tanker Event on Defiant server.
