Well, I was damned tempted to go in the first place. Now I'm damn SURE I'll be going!
-
Given the strength of the police, the hospitals, and taking into account that there are a LOT of fire heroes around... you'd think they'd already HAVE one.
-
Yeah - what's with that?
Why not build it on one of those islands in PI? -

Given Steel Canyon's flammability, that would be advisable. Unless the Hellions try to burn *that* down.
What is it that they are building at the north end of steel, anyway? Perhaps that's it? -
Can't you just log off on top of one of the burning buildings in Steel? Sounds perfectly safe to me...

Howdy peeps,
A bit late notice, I know, but a handful of heroes from the New Guardians are running Statesman's Task Force tomorrow morning (Sunday 27th Sept) at 10am. We could really use a rad to put the AVs on the ropes, so if there are any available that want to run with us, please drop me a message here, or email Winter Flare in-game.
There may be space for others that wish to participate, so just pop along to Independence Port tomorrow morning and see if there's room -
I have four primary costumes, and the fifth slot is for 'events'. An Xmas outfit, a Halloween outfit. However, since Cimerora and the Cyborg pack, I want more slots for other suits!

"More costume slots"
"The ability to choose which one is the one you see when you login" (or alternatively, 'slot shuffing') -
"Hmmm... that gives me an idea... "
Suggestion Thread > 'More Slots' ? -
I hoped / assumed that day jobs came with costumes, so that's nice.
As for shields - I understand the they were the cause of the weapon customisation feature being made available, so obviously I'm expecting some shield options, and hopefully some unlockable ones.
Think we'll see any more invention costume pieces in the future? -
So, COSTUMES AND COSTUME PIECES - I13 brings with it:
"Other features include new Invention Origin Sets, new Costume Sets, Zone Refinements, and more!"
I wonder if Dayjobs, and also Merits, will be used to acquire new costume pieces?
The above quote, says that there will be new invention sets, and new costume sets. By this, I am merely assuming, they mean that new themed costume pieces will be available (Jester, Plant, Cyborg, etc). Certainly, it would be good if these other new features awarded costume pieces (something else in inspire people to seek out this fantastic conent, other than / as well as badges!) for completing / unlocking them?
However - what I was curious about was the expansion of the already established system(s). Each issue, we see new costume pieces come out (which I am extemely grateful for!) However, when the invention issue was released, we saw a selection of costume piece recipes being made available. When the weapon customisation issue was released, we saw a basic set of weapons, and then some weapons that you could 'earn'/unlock. I hope that the devs don't forget that they have established a good few ways in which to hand out costume pieces to those that earn them, rather than just handing them out at the release of an issue (although I'm NOT saying that everything should be unlockable content - just that a few items should be).
This post is not say "I13 is naff because they haven't said anything about using the invention system or weapon customisation system to released more unlockable content."
I am simply saying that I hope, in the future, to see more costume recipes and more unlockable weapon styles, and I look forward to what I13 is bringing with it. -
I can't say I'm surprised, but I'm certainly glad to see that they're not holding back on new content just to get this feature out.
So - I13, let's take a look:
Day Jobs - well, anything that gives you badges for not doing anything is fine by me The fact that these 'day jobs' can give you rewards, (For example, a City Official earns extra Influence, a Scholar is granted Salvage, a Caregiver is granted Health Regeneration Buffs, etc.) just makes it more fun. I'm interested in this one!
Multiple Builds - This is... interesting. Really didn't see this coming. I can't say I'm 'build-savvy' enough to make a PVE build, and a PVP build, or even a solo / teaming build. I suppose it's because I've never had to think about it! I could (in theory) make a solo build, where I get rid of say, my 'heal other' powers, and focus on more of my secondary ice powers (I don't have many!). The slots, obviously, would help my other powers (which I suppose is the point). This feature is certainly going to make my brain work a bit harder!
Levelling Pact - Again, another feature I never saw coming! I'm not sure how well this will work - but I expect it to be either a) tested into the ground or b) tweaked to high heaven in successive patches once it's released. I just get that feeling.
The Merit Rewards System - I like this idea, for many reasons! Primarily, because it entices people into running Task Forces again - which I'm glad is now a weekly thing for us! Again, badges (w00t!), and costume pieces too, which isn't to be sniffed at!
Supergroup Base Repricing - Thank god. Even though our base is a good size, and fully equipped, it certainly cost a LOT, and even then, we've never gone made with decoration (but then again, we never really wanted too, as it's not the look we were going for!) What I'd like to know is whether or not those WITH bases, will be refunded / get to reclaim the prestige spent on rooms / items that will (I assume) be made cheaper? If so, once this release goes live, I'll have a nice chunk of prestige to expand our base with!!!
"Other features include new Invention Origin Sets, new Costume Sets, Zone Refinements, and more!" - Always nice to hear.
Well - if I13 keeps to what it's promised, it's going to be a happy winter in Paragon City! -
But isn't that how games work? Achievement points on the Xbox? Getting 100% at a really hard game (Spider-Man 2 - one of the best games in the world :P )
Isn't the point of badges that they are a symbol of what you've achieved, so that you can wear them with pride? -
Righto - that's my mission for tonight, then.
-
I just checked the download page - says that badge tracking isn't working yet....
-
Stout-hearted is for the exploration badges connected to radio missions.
Force of Justice is for putting in the extra effort to save / resolve the side-missions (which you have to unlock within the time limit.
It would certainly be nice to have more rewards attached to the police band missions, given the hype that came with them when they were released. That, and the fact that more effort is required to get Force Of Justice -
"Force of Justice Badge"
The accolade for getting all of the Hero Police Band side-mission badges.
According to Paragon Wiki, it's not been 'released', because it would cause an inbalance (since CoV doesn't have a villain alternative).
With IOs making so many characters tougher, perhaps *another* power is not necessary? Why not release this accolade with costume parts, for instance? It works with Task Force commander! -
I've just set up a Titan Key account thingy (technical terms ahoy!)
I'm guessing that, for now, it simply works like badge-hunter? There's no 'automatic update' to magically link my account to the site, yet? -
Plus, give it a month or however long, and when I13 comes out, EVERYONE will be back.
