You missed it then, it was already extensively covered in the first film during the two minute period where he crafted the yellow ring following the plot point where it was absolutely unnecessary.

That said GL 2 might be an improvement.

I'm willing to believe that the nearly solid caucasian make up of Marvels signature characters played no role in this creative detour (white to both AA & hispanic).
Then again, I've been wrong before.

I also like Maelstrom and Tyrant. Recluse could use an update before I'd suggest him.

Not that grossing way north of $1B always portends a great couple of films, but who's interpretation of this character in live action movies would you prefer, Joel Schumacher, Tim Burton, Leslie Martinson...

Nolan btw will be attached in some capacity with the "next revolution of that particular cultural wheel".

It's taken over 50 years of hard work for people to consider animated films like the "Toy Story" franchise with the same seriousness as Hi-tech effects films (which have themselves been demeaned for a long time) and they have often been relegated to 'also-ran' status in such considerations as the Oscars.
Putting aside the story, the technical challenges that are present in a scene like this were it attempted in a live-action film are immensely more challenging, there's little room for debate, which is why critical acclaim has not always been commensurate between the two forms of media all things being equal.

I love animated movies, amateur animation and modeling is actually a tiny hobby of mine, but the premise that The Incredibles and The Dark Knight should be a couple choices apart from one another on a list of All Time Best SHero films -- to me is silly.

Even so, animated films have received a great deal of recognition through the years, Disney alone has amassed something like 70 Oscar nominations including best picture for B&tB (20yrs ago) with multiple wins for various categories dating all the way back to the 1930's Snow White, which premiered to a thunderous ovation by film luminaries of the day like Clark Cable & Marlene Dietrich. Walt Disney I think still holds the record for most academy awards, and nearly all of them for animation.

None of which even scratches the surface of the popular culture recognition of various forms of cartoons via the box office, magazine covers, radio, tv, merchandise... etc.

Whether the Academy Awards have been fair to this genre historically is another topic, ask comedies..

But to put them in a different category really misses the point. The Incredibles raised the bar for superhero movies in a way that even the Batman reboot films, as much as I like them, didn't.
Structurally, there probably is little difference between a screenplay for an animated movie and a live-action film, but there are reasons why some stories are better animated and some are better, and much more challenging, in live-action.

Btw, for the inevitable kiddie tugOwar over this topic, a channel's a channel. Fun happens whether you get it through TankHQ -DarkGuard -Champions Unleashed or the active private options in game, a trial or tf runs the same wherever you hear about it and there are more legitimate active options now then in recent memory.

    Vary options, have fun.

I have six other active options that were listed in another thread, so I rarely even use the channel OP referred to anymore, it's a meh issue.

If a new influx of players results from the new FTP model where are they all going to go to, not to that channel, because it's loaded near the cap with a large number of dead accounts, so the modding choices, or whatever, will be even less an issue as active players fill up other global channels.

Variety of channel options works for everyone.

  15. Well done, just saw it with my wife and surprisingly there were a lot of elderly people in the theater, if that broad demographic holds up they're going to be quite happy with their box office.

I wish the Green Lantern was done as well, alas aside for Batman DC continues to get bludgeoned by Marvel at the Cinema.

    Go See Capt.

That should be good, but alas I see 'Xmen Origins: Wolverine' in place of what a film filled with decapitations and explicit violence should portend as an awesome theatrical experience.

A 60 yro Ahnold reprising his role future tense as an old sage king worrier on his last legs would kick Momoa's rear at the box office for this title. ;]
