If the crash was removed, I would imagine the non-crashing nukes might be buffed slightly to bring them up to the crashing nuke's current level. On the other hand crashing nukes might just be converted into non-crashing nukes by bringing them down to the level of the current non-crashing nukes, in which case probably nothing at all would happen to the current non-crashing nukes.

BTW, the end part was weird. I was in Exalted - Atlas 4, and Hami only went away about 5 minutes after we defeated all of the seeds. I suspect we need to clear all Atlas maps to advance in the zone event, not just the map we're currently occupying. Good news is that the new server is completely lag-free, unlike the invasion a few months ago -

My point is that if you don't balance a popular vote with some sort of legal restraint (inviolable rights that every citizen is allowed regardless of the elected ruler's wishes) then democracies can be as evil as tyrannies.

Now, if the town's sheriff stops the villagers from burning the woman alive, he'd be opposing the majority and protecting a minority. That, my friend, is the basis of a modern free society, not blindly following a popular show of hands. You have the right not to be burned at the stake even if you're an old woman with a crooked nose and everyone else in town wants you gone.
Cole was (apparently) elected by popular vote and given free reign to do whatever he deemed necessary to ensure the survival of the human race in Praetoria. Unfortunately, no one bothered to put restraints on what he could do, and we see his lieutenants abusing their power every day (not Cole himself, though).
Opposing Emperor Cole's regime because it allows psychic women into bondage, that's laudable. Saying Cole's martial law should have been abolished by now is debatable (because we know the devouring earth are still a threat). But accusing Cole of being evil simply because he hasn't scheduled a new round of elections is just plain demagogy.
Mother Mayhem is evil. I've seen it myself.
Michael White is evil. I've seen it myself.
Justin Sinclair is evil. I've seen it myself.
Praetoria is evil. I've seen it myself.
Marcus Cole? Probably, but I'm not sure yet. -
I think the basis of a free society is a constituition and a bill of rights, not democratic elections per se. Whether an election happens every 4 years or 10 or 100 is irrelevant, as long as the ruler in power isn't allowed to squash the rights of his citizens. It's all about economic politics and minute applications of the law which, if unpopular or unconstitutional, won't get past the supreme court of justice or risk perpectual jury nullification (ala euthanasia and anti-abortion laws). Your vote doesn't count for much, anyway, all you ever get to choose is blue or red, since it's always either Democrats or Republicans that get the seat.
On the other hand, unhindered democratic elections (the majority vote) have given rise to some of the greatest atrocities in history. I seem to recall that Hitler was elected by a majority, it's not like he conquered Germany. In the US slavery was only abolished in 1863, and miscegenation only became legal in 1967 (!!). Ancient Greece was a democracy, though only free male citizens could vote. The Inquisition in the 16th century was very popular in Spain, similar to parades we see happening today. And when did women start to vote in most democracies, anyway? Why aren't people below the age of 18 allowed to vote today, when they're bound by adult laws by the time they hit 16? Why do people in Nevada get arrested for failing to pay their casino debts? Why does the federal government get to try murder cases in Massachussets and ask for the death penalty when the death penalty was abolished in the state? In most cases, these leaders were empowered by popular vote to specifically oppress minorities, and had there been laws to prevent it, such abuses would not have taken place.
Marcus Cole might be a tyrant, perhaps even an evil tyrant, but he is a dully elected one. Too bad there's no Praetorian constitution or bill of rights to protect its people from him and his goons. -
Arcana actually presented valid numbers to prove nukes are underpowered, not just the abstract whining the rest of us tend to do in chorus. Be graceful and offer a thank you rather than a flame, will you?

The invasion of Primal Earth was more than justified in my eyes, considering that Praetoria was attacked by Ultimatum, Malta, Arachnos, Longbow, Vanguard and the entire Freedom Phalanx before they finally decided to strike back in 2011. You were there during the invasion, as was I, and thanks to Synapse's blunder we both heard Cole's broadcasts live. Apart from threatening to tear off Synapse's head if he didn't shut up, I didn't hear anything that suggests Cole is a murdering psychopath willing to commit genocide, only an opposing general trying to win a war he didn't start. -

Now I don't know about you, but in my mind either Cole's not the monster I suspected him to be or that "Cole" was the same shapeshifting guy who had just released an evil clone of my toon into Faultline just as he set foot into Paragon City.
Personally, I think Cole is at least somewhat evil, but nothing *yet* suggests he's Nemesis-like evil, mwahahah fear my 150-year-old masterplan! Rather, Cole's probably a very cold person who had to make very hard decisions in the midst of a very real vegetable apocalypse, and has since withdrawn himself from the world, keeping his interference to a minimum while letting the Praetors handle day-to-day affairs. It's very likely that he doesn't know alot of what's happening in Praetoria, and mostly because he chooses not to get involved. From what I saw in the Powers storyline, Cole's very much afraid, not of the world ending, but rather of what else the world might demand of him to ensure its survival. Just picture how the pilot who dropped the Nagasaki bomb must have felt...
Or he could be a really good actor and fooled me along with the rest

Take, for instance, the Knives of Artemis. Their description says that there are fewer than 100 of them world-wide, yet we can sometimes take out more than 100 in a single mission if the map is large enough. And by "we" I mean "I," as in solo. An 8-man team can probably take out 100 within a few regular rooms. If these girls are supposed to be highly-trained deadly assassins, then why not make them an entire faction of nothing but bosses? I get why this was done back at Launch when Jack Emmert was stomping his foot and insisting that bosses shouldn't be soloable, but these days they are anyway.
Suppose the Knives only ever spawned single bosses? No minions, no lieutenants. Just bosses, all of them named. Or how about the Warriors? These guys shouldn't be all that popular of a cult, and they keep naming themselves after Iliad heroes. Shouldn't they be all bosses, just a bunch of few but really strong men and women?
Contrariwise, take something like the Ghouls. Wouldn't it make sense for these guys to be almost entirely just minions? They're a zombie apocalypse, more or less (yes, I know the story), but still, wouldn't it make sense to fight hordes of smaller ones most of the time?
I know it's possible to make up all ranks of enemies for all factions, but should all factions have similar numbers of all ranks in regular spawns? -

In that meeting Cole admits both that he "has blood on his hands" and more specifically he has no intention of ever allowing humanity to make significant choices for themselves as to their destiny, and will destroy (as in "kill") anyone who opposes him. Not just anyone who is a proven threat to him, because as far as Cole is concerned all humanity cannot be trusted: either people follow him and are safe to remain alive, or they oppose him in which case they are too dangerous to live.

There are alot of rumours, accusations and innuendo, but as of yet all I'm certain is that Cole was willing to invade Primal Earth (while trying to keep civilian casualties to a minimum) and that he's willing to kill in cold blood to prove a point (he killed Duray in front of several witnesses). All else is speculation.
Assuming good triumphs in the end, we'll either be able to pin something relevant on Cole or prove he's just a misunderstood vigilante who had to make hard choices to save mankind. In the meantime, we Primals seem to be adopting typical Longbow behavior - shoot first, and let God sort out the innocent.
Plus, even assuming Cole knew of some of the horrors being committed in his name, it's not yet clear if they were actually necessary to keep Praetorians safe. For example, Mother Mayhem is enslaving all psychic women in Praetoria, often times their families too. DeVore claims she's a psychic vampire, Mother claims that psychics are potential threats to the general populace. Until First Ward came, I bet we all assumed Tilman was lying (I did), but after seeing mutated tentacles grow out of a Seer's head in a base full of dead soldiers, I'm not so sure anymore.
My point being, wait and see. Praetoria's tale is far from told and you can't guess an ending that hasn't been written yet. -

Not saying the AI couldn't be better (I hate it when enemies run away), but let's keep in mind that when I play a hero or a villain, part of what I'm looking for is being almost invincible, except for the occasional challenge by another super-powered rival. -

I like knockdown. I like 100% chance knockback. I don't like random-chance to knockback. I value concept and character more than game mechanics, meaning not all my toons with be able to hover-blast. I won't stop you from using knockback, and I'll never kick you out of a team for using it. But an option to to avoid knockback? Yes, please.
Option to turn off knockback in Pocket D? Yes, please.
Option to slot decent acc/dam/end/rech/-knockback IO sets into knockback powers? Yes, please.
Costless toggle to turn off knockback in powers? Yes, please.
Option to reduce the basic knockback magnitude of all knockback powers to 0.67? Yes, please.
Eliminating knockback from the game? No thanks, some people like it.
Memphis_Bill, thanks for not fighting this. I don't know why you felt the need to oppose it till exhaustion, but it's good that you've stopped. Even if it never happens, having one less guy defending the virtues of knockback in the hands of those rare few blessed with leet skills is a step in the right direction. -
Assuming the devs agree with Arcanaville's theory that current crashing nukes are grossly underpowered (I was convinced), I see 3 possible solutions:
A) Giving a massive increase to a nuke's damage (at least doubling it), increasing the target cap from 16 to 24, keeping the endurance crash and the 360 second recharge, making a crashing nuke much more powerful and reliable than it currently is.
B) Keeping the damage and the crash, but lowering the recharge to 60 seconds like RoA and Full Auto, so that blasters can nuke once per spawn as long as they have blue inspirations.
C) Lowering the damage, removing the crash and lowering the recharge to 60/90/120 seconds, turning them into clones of RoA, Full Auto and HoB.
IMO, any of these options would offer interesting options in a blaster's playstyle. A) would let a nuke keep its status as a panic button, while B) and C) would help a blaster raise his value as a damage dealer in teams, and likely increase the BOOM-SHAKALAKA fun factor as well.
Good news, I think. Wait and see? -
Cole made it clear that he wanted his soldiers to "witness" what he was about to do. What exactly, though?
- That anyone who specifically threatens Primal Earth civilians gets executed and cloned back into service with altered memories?
- That anyone who specifically ignores Cole's orders gets executed and cloned back into service?
- That Cole doesn't want his name associated with the decision to smuggle Hamidon Seeds into Primal Earth?
- That Cole is willing to kill anyone, no matter how close or high-up in the chain of command, if it means protecting his benevolent-ruler image?
- That Cole is a manipulative ******* who can't stand the general public to think of him as anything less than a hero?
I'm still not buying it, Cole's still not a good guy in my eyes. How do we know he didn't mind-warp Duray into releasing the Seeds himself, then played the good guy in front of his troops? While aiding the Primals in this was, effectively, the moral thing to do, I question his motives. Cole=Recluse=Nemesis=DeVore=The Center, reluctant allies who might turn coat at any moment's notice. -

Also, Dark Blast is pretty solid with all those ST attacks, including a hold and a heal with fairly decent range (60ft for lifedrain, 70ft for the hold, 80ft for the tier1/2 attacks).
Don't read too much into the kb in the cone, because it's 100% chance at 80ft range, and since every mob gets pushed back they all end up relatively close to each other (barring anyone you fail to hit). Knockdown would obviously be better, but the real problem would be if it had something like 60% chance to knockback, which would cause them to spread. -

The lack of a true role for their human form part... well, that's true. As far as I can tell it's a blaster/scrapper/defender hydrid like the VEATs, only without the VEATs' damage, team buffs or inherent mez protection. But keep in mind that Kheldians are a relic of old, they were (poorly) designed back in issue 3 and have barely been looked at since.
