  1. Those are great! Thank you for sharing.

    Now I'm a lil hungry...
  2. Love the badge art! Especially the villain version. It gives Widow and Recluse a fanciful pixie-like quality. Like itty bitty evil fairies. Please thank the artist for us.
  3. Happy birthday, Ms. Moggie. Hope you have a great one.

Pretty sure that folks still meet at the boat on Saturdays. Damned if I know the time. Find Blazing Tiger or Sphere.

  6. Old and new Hamidon are personal experiences so you can't really just "say". This is based on which server, factionside and time you run on. Anyone who plays odd hours, servers with little interest, or lower populations may not enjoy it as much if they have feel they are hitting a brick wall on succeeding with marginal deaths.

Though honestly, I have no idea what most servers do. Virtue runs it as often as three times a week for each factionside, sometimes back to back. It's usually around or under an hour. I've seen many current raids without deaths because experienced groups prepare teleporters. I've seen raids with massive wipes.. because we're just ******* around. Once, we had a nine minute raid from our departure at the rock to completion.

My personal opinion as someone who just attended the old raids and helped organize the new ones on my server.. I'm biased. I prefer the new ones. They're more engaging but we still have time to chat. I've see teams that take pride in their individual functions; many giving themselves team nicknames and bantering with the other teams in broadcast.

Wouldn't mind seeing something new one day. Maybe with an option for folks who enjoy different things or have different means at their disposal? Say you're on a low population, odd hour playschedule and can only ever rustle up 3 teams... versus a high population server that runs back to back to accomodate two sets of 50 each.. a "choose your own adventure" Hami. Same game but like a TF challenge window, you select your foe based off how many players you set the zone to. It would be an amended strategy, same-ish glob, for each group size. I'm rambling. At any rate, goshdarn that nuke raid was fun.

    Thank you for reminding me.

Captain created an android on his account whose exterior shell is modeled after my villainess main. Sadly, I cannot recall if the two women have met even once. I should write to him and ask how my doppleganger is doing and sue for costume monies.

    <3 Rook.

A bustle would so work. Was thinking that the first time I saw my character walking in a trenchcoat.
  9. Pipe dream for Mutants but the animation for squids might work for a mermaid tail. Considering half the zones are surrounded by water, it'd be sexy to jump in and swish our booties around.

Or Ninja Turtles.. that would be fun. Oh wait.. we gots ninjas in teh last pack. \o/
  10. Created best friends, Shameless and Pea Elle (short for Penelope), who just made level twenty this week - after two years. Had every intention of dual-box/powerleveling them shamelessly. Unfortunately, I suck at dual-boxing.

The great thing is that other players will play along with their shenanigans. Shameless will berate Pea for not purchasing the right fabric softener to launder their stolen "monies" with.. and others standing at the Black Market truck will scowl and hiss at me for being rude to.. myself.

< Hotdog! I just now found out how to create a clickable thumbnail.
  11. Reported this a few days ago: "The face on the Facemaker in Cap au Diable is warped. The one you go to for the level 20 costume. It's fairly heinous looking."

Received a standard response of, "The Quality Assurance Team will be evaluating this report to determine a resolution for the issue." which made me daydream up all sorts of shenanigans involving teams of GM's in hazmat suits poking and prodding at her only to find some jerk shoved too many wet Cheetohs™ up her nose.
  12. - Saving two names for alternate-world twins. Starcadia for my Starmada, American Graffiti for my American Anthem.

Particulary excited about my American teens. Whereas Anthem is mentally unbalanced with delusions of living the life of a popular, well-established commercial-quality heroine... Graffiti is quite sane but fears her work is a sign that she's completely insane. Going to path her as a clairevoyant like one of Mother Mayhem's Seers; Graff's ability will manifest through living murals revealing both things which passed and are to come.

    - Finishing my goshdarn villain base! I'm on well over ten thousand pieces of function and decor. I realize there's no clear idea of how existing SG & VG bases will serve, if at all, the new expansion but I'd like to get this done all the same.
  13. Just hopped onto forums for servers that had existing name threads to list a few open names after checking a website for world capitals. Some servers still had names with great potential: Berlin, Havana, and Geneva to name a few.

If your server does not yet have a name thread, start one. It's a great place to list, swap, and request help for ideas.
  14. Greetings from your sisters in Virtue. The following names of world capitals are available, as of this post, on Champion:

    Havana

    Tokyo

    Sarajevo

    Beijing

    Helsinki

    Dakar

    Brasilia

    Pretoria
  15. There's a few names of world capitals free on Freedom, as of this post, that have potential:

    Sarajevo

    Helsinki

    Santo Domingo

    Brasilia

    Pretoria
  16. The following names of world capitals are free in Guardian as of this post. Some have a nice ring to them:

    Vienna

    Sarajevo

    Tokyo

    Brasilia

    Pretoria

    Santo Domingo

    Cairo

    Helsinki

    Jakarta

    Hanoi

*if anyone grabs these names, I'd love to see pics of the costumes.
  17. I was looking for world capitals with a shine of personality to them. The following names are free to take, as of this post, on Infinity ( <-- seems redundant to say but keeping it straight for myself since I'm posting on several servers this morning ) :

    Sarajevo

    Helsinki

    Hanoi

    Brasilia

    Pretoria

    Santo Domingo

  18. Howdy from friends in Virtue. The following names are free to take, as of this post, in Pinnacle:

    Berlin

    Brasilia

    Geneva

    Pretoria

    Tokyo

    Santo Domingo
  19. Still free as of 7:12 am this morning.

Also free to take right now, names of world capitals on Victory server:

    Havana
    Beijing
    Brasilia
    Pretoria
    Sarajevo
    Santo Domingo
    Cairo
    Helsinki
    Jakarta

I didn't check every world capital (link of capitals here), just the ones which seemed to hold more promise for personality.

    30. Dollhouse
Picked this one up on Virtue just a few weeks ago. It was a gift for my husband who intends to re-roll for Going Rogue's demon-summoning powerset. In essence, the demons are his dolls and the MM's mind is the house they're stored in when not out playing. Not grabbing it here but wanted to say -good find, Chosen-!

Ha, I just realized. My husband plays with dolls.

That's true in my case. Although I have the 63 month vet reward, nearly all of my names were obtained in the last two years.

    ...

    2) There really isn't a magical pool of really awesome names stuck on unplayed lowbies across all servers.
I guess I lucked out. That is how I picked up: Vamp, Heretic, Death, Czarina, Phobia, Nefer, Berlin and Silk. Then again, a name's desirability is subjective. To me, those are great names. Other people may think they're crap.

In case they have another reclaim, make a list of the names you want in advance. Worry about perfecting a costume later.

I've also picked up great (to me) names from friends. American Anthem and Witchcraft were gifts from good friends who had outlived them. Heavenly was a gift from a forum celeb who pm'd me out of the blue because she knew I ran an angel themed group.

Some names were picked up on a whim. Alt, Noa, Terravolta, and Una were just casual afterthoughts while playing. Know what I do often? If I'm playing with a radio or the television on in the office and hear a nice lyric or interesting thought, I'll quickly type "/getglobalname, so and so". If the name is taken, usually a global will come back. If a global is not retrieved, I'll type "/friend, so and so". Heroes will show on the local friends list, villains rejected - or vice versa depending on which side I'm on. If a second message appears stating the name does not exist or is hidden, then I'll log off and check if it's locked or truly available. Sounds like a process but it takes seconds.

I also find inspiration from others in the same way. Dyson had a biography for his main with mention of a starmada force. I was so taken by the word that I took it and Starmada was born. I've wanted a twin for her for some time and saw someone with the name Starkadia; a quick check in Google and found that Arkadia was also spelled with a "c". Starcadia was born a few weeks ago.

Then there's my server's forum's famous Name Thread. Folks will ask for names and put up names (free and trade). Picked up a few names there was well: Dakota, Freeze Frame, and Paris.

Sometimes I will Google themes. With Paris and Berlin, I thought it would be neat to have an army of world capitals since there is a type of angel responsible for protecting each nation. Google brought up a list of all the current and past world capitals from which I picked over the most feminine sounding. A quick check showed that: Havana, Brasilia, Tokyo, and Pretoria were free.

Then there's bouts of silliness. Following a conversation about shameless PL'ing, I made Shameless (a brute) and Pea Elle (her twin sister, a thermal corr). Following a conversation about regional dialects, Broken English was born - she's a Brit with a Cockney accent that no one on her international polo team could understand. Sunday Mourning was also a play on words.

My point is, in the last two years... following a massive wipe on my account, I've been active and resourceful on some and lucky on others on what may be the busiest server. Come to think of it, with all the different ways I pick up names, I can't recall how I got Vanessa, Posh, and Vignette. I'm pretty sure they were "on a whim" picks.

Though my -favorite- to this day is three years old and a thesaurus pick. I wanted an extraterrestrial. Thesuarus found "alien, foreign, exotic". I added an "a" at the end and Exotica was born. Sadly, people think she's inspired by a stripper.

    Happy hunting, y'all.

    So I'm new

Scrappers are a nice for your first. They're the perfect balance - sturdy with enough damage onboard to solo easily if you're not looking to team.

Curious, so far, what did you pick for your first? AT? Primary and secondary? There's forums here for builds and advice by AT.

To sum up my Week 1 advice:

    - Take it slow and enjoy the game.

    - Run your contact mission arcs.

    - There's game tips on the loading screen. I'm pretty sure the option to receive them is turned on automatically.

    - Sometimes joining global channels filled with experienced players can be overwhelming because they're talking a mile a minute about every detail. Two things might be of better use your first week. 1. The help channel. Type /HC, your question here (backslash, HC). Usually, nice folks will answer most everything. 2. http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page

    - Once you have an idea of the game and where you wish to concentrate your time (PvE, RP, PvP, Raids, badges, etc), there are many great specialized global channels available.

    - Find a friendly SG. Let them know that you're new to the game.

-Consider finding two people who play the same hours you do. 1. An experienced player you who can help you along the way and 2. Another new player who can share your enthusiasm.

    - If you hit a rough patch with something or someone, don't worry. There's more than one AT, there's more than one factionside, there's more than one SG, there's more than one online forum community, there's more than one person. It's a really large, unique, diverse world in there to explore.

Have fun. Visit us often and let us know how you're doing.

And yes, I also think that keeping the Zombie raids for the Halloween event is better than an all year round system.

    Cheers
I've run it more than once on the same character. I'm a simple person and earning one of each temporary power associated with the GM is just an extension of my trophy-hunting.

As far as a "wham bam" approach, I can see that being a different situation by time of day and course over the three weeks available. During prime PM and weekend hours, the event is completed nearly immediately on busy servers such as Virtue. If you're looking to savor a slower experience and have the schedule to do so, perhaps assemble friends if you're on later in the eve or wait until everyone's had their fill about two weeks in.

There's no way for an event with a set number of rules to satisfy everyone. The best I can do is tailor my personal experience in how I run it when I do log in.
