^^ Nope, that about does it. If I A_M is Gill's r/l life friend, then it makes sense that he (or she) would support him.
[/ QUOTE ]
...so if I wasn't an RL friend, that wouldn't make sense?
The question that bothered me in this line of inquiry is why does anyone need to know what my personal connection/friendship with MMOART is? It isn't anyone's business but my own. A fan posting an updated shouldn't raise any more eyebrows than if I was an RL friend.
Frankly the whole "I'm curious" just smacks of being nosy and while you might not have meant it that way, that's how it came off. Whatever troubles folks are have with MMOART that is something that has to be taken up with the owners. I have no more avenues of communication with them than anyone else. I send emails just like everyone else does.
I'm about the artwork...I post because other folks want to see artwork, in this artwork forum....and that's the bottom line.

Call it what you will - it seems like promotion to me.

You consistantly post thier site in your posts.. not just their art.
You want to call me nosey because if I ask if you have a connection?? Alright... I'm nosey.
If someone on here kept posting about Coca Cola .com and directing me to their website... sure, I'd ask if they had a connection to them.
If you want to come here and promote MMOART, that's fine. Just don't be surprised if people ask you questions about them.

Here's the answer to your question:

I'm posting updates in a thread that Gill started for posting updates. You'll forgive me if I don't understand what the issue is exactly.
I've been posting updates from MMOART site for a long while and no one had an issue with it, so why is it suddenly a focus of curiousity now? -

See right there...I missed that and didn't even know it was in the scoop.
[ QUOTE ]
If you want to submit just an article or two while not being on the staff, that is also good. Write something up (between 400-800 words), and submit it. I can't promise all submissions will be put into the Scoop, but we will try our best. One word of warning: We have a two week deadline, so if you submit something, do not expect it to appear in the same week.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just this paragraph answers some of the questions. Also it mentions a 2 week deadline, but in this thread you mentioned you had 1 week (unless I misread). I see event reporters are mentioned but are puzzle and suduko needed still?

I think it also would help to have submission guidelines, so we know what we need to do to help. Sending a PM okay, but surely you need to see more than that and as submitter I'd have more questions such as:
Do I need a specific PM subject title?
How long of sample should it be? 100 words...200...1000?
Do I make a different file and link to it, or paste it in the PM window?
How long after I submit can I expect a response?
If my work isn't accepted can I resubmit?...If so, how long do I need to wait to resubmit?
Just basic FAQ/Q&A would help folks out a lot. I'm sure that's reasonable enough, right?
[/ QUOTE ]
We have guidelines written and repost them occasionally, but right now my thinking is we'll be far better served by having them in a specific place always visible and available.
Also several other thoughts kicking around to smooth out the submission process and make it easier and quicker.
[/ QUOTE ]
Might I recommend a stickied thread? Something with submission guidelines (formatting for files, contact email address if not via PM, file sizes, etc), what you'd need for event coverage, that sort of thing?

I agree with Michelle. I understand you want to wait for the new forum software, but no ETA (not that I'm aware of) has been given so it wouldn't hurt to have that formatted now and sticked for when we do change forum software.
Lemur, the staff is still putting out the Scoop weekly and I'm sure some folks might like to help out but to do that we have to know the process for submissions. If nothing else, couldn't there be a link to the submission guidelines put into the updater when the Scoop is advertised? -
Perhaps just separate the items by what is already in game from items that would need to be created.

The PURPLE arcane magic crystals that seem to be unique to the Ice Mistral TF.
While the normal green ones are nice, it would be better to have the PURPLE ones
A while back I took a series of arcane shots for the Splasher contest, there was a lot stuff in some of the arcane maps that I drooled over...here are a few:
<ul type="square">[*]Buff Crystals [*] Decorative Teleporter [*] Spotlight Altar [*] Wall Disk 1[*] Wall Disk 2[*] Teleporter, Spolight Altar combo[/list] -

I think perhaps the better comment to Tony's suggestions would have been.
"Thank you for the suggestions, unfortunately our current staff size is not large enough to cover every happening. We have been discussing some changes to improve the Scoop and hope to implement some new things soon."
It would have at least been less attacking in response to what are some pretty decent suggestions. I don't know what the ill will is between Scoop staff and Tony, and frankly I don't care because that's not what the newsletter is about.
In any case, everything the staff does is because they wanted to bring something to community. But if it gets in the way of enjoying the game or the community, then its not really worth it. -
Interesting page...
Sometime costumes should be a tiny bit practical, though.
Cause I know if I could create freezing rain and lighting, my choice of costume would not be bare chested with metallic pasties.... -
Very nice work!
You just made it into my top 3 favorite artist on here
Previously I only had two, Gill Bates and Graver.
Oh and how's that Matrix...did you run up the miles on it yet? -
Looks interesting. RO is looking forward to testing out all the new additions.
Personally, I'll be checking out the base changes as well as the new IO sets that my Kins have been waiting for. -
The way its posted makes it seem like it takes all that type of salvage to craft a Teleport. Some reformatting is in order to ease the confusion:
For example:
Basic ARCANE Telepad
Recipe A: Clockwork Winder, Temporal Sands, Simple Chemical, Psionic Manifestation
Recipe B: Alchemical Silver, Symbol, Inert Gas, Black Blood of the Earth
Recipe C: Ruby, Destiny, Silver, Hamidon Goo
So you can choose from three recipies to craft a Teleport. You do not have to use the one with the HamiGoo. -
You can set the screenshot keys under OPTIONS > Keymapping Tab.
Scroll down and find the OTHER section. The first settings you'll see are for screenshots. From there you can set change the keys that take the screenshots to whatever you like.
Remember that screenshots go into the screenshots folder in the City of Heroes program file. -
Take a break Hobo. No need to worry about the updates this week. Enjoy your time out of town!

When people can't pay they tend to clam up and be quiet, to ignore the problem. Your SG mate could be doing the same thing, and just not know how to say "I can't pay". To be honest, two weeks isn't really that long of a time.
You can be upset about it (obviously) but if you know this person let things cool off and talk to him again in a month. You might get an answer and an apology. Shame and embarrassment make people do odd things.
As for your business side, if these mini are so inexpensive then it shouldn't hurt to ask for the cash up front or at the very least after you've done a sketch. That way the client has the promise of the artwork and you have the cash. -
I'm glad you like my mad posting skillz Vest
All the artwork is Gill/Jomaro's though. -

The site is back up....quicker than I thought!
Enjoy -
The RO Site has been down since yesterday. The webhost is working on the issue and should have it resolved in a few hours.
(I totally blame the evil bunnies that invaded the RO site a few months ago. ) -

Sorry guys, I have DA filtering it as well, since I have nieces under 16 in Kansas who occasionally look at my work... and while this piece is nothing to be ashamed about, I have no control over what the blocker blocks... just that it does. All you missed were some tan lines around very bright mammary glands...
[/ QUOTE ]
I understand why you have it there...just stating why I and perhaps others won't be able to see it. Bare breasts aren't worth all that trouble. I own a pair so they're not that mystifying to me
If there's a PG-13 version, I'll take a look at that one instead. -
Well I cannot see the work since I have no desire to sign up for Deviant Art to view it.
Ahh well, I'm sure there were some naughty bits showing and what not.
