same chain haha. And thanks for the recharge info. Not the largest amount, but alot more than 102% required for my build. What's the damage difference again? Can't remember if you ran the numbers or not.
-
Anyone know the recharge on:
Gambler's Cut > Golden Dragonfly > Gambler's Cut > Soaring Dragon -
They stack and can both fire, at least from what I've experienced.
-
I won't show you my build because I'm weird but I'll suggest to you to look into some of the universal travel sets and pbaoe attack sets to shore out your defenses.
-
Last time I was around procs checked every 10 seconds to fire.
I'd keep tough/weave, since WP is a layered defense set.
In all honesty I'll say just test it. That's what I did and I'll test it out on my 50 DB/WP later if I have the time. (He hit 50 and then I moved on because the combination did not intrigue me as much as some others do). -
It's just for his testing.
I know there are highest DPS chains for DB and claws lying around, just have to find them or ask for them.
As for spines? Yeah I don't go there. -
Actually in my AV soloing chain FS replaces DA if the enemy isn't lethal or melee based (softcapped to FCEN and close on ranged).
Putting it in GD is an option, yes, but I'd have to reconsider the slotting.
Actually now that I know of the two new important IOs for my character, regardless of price, I should be able to loosen up the slotting on my attacks (silly Mako's Bites). I think I have the perfect setup. -
I'll be able to give you a better answer when I'm at home, right now I'm going off of pure conjecture since I don't have mids at work.
Thinking about it I should probably just let someone who uses DB as one of their mains to answer you (cough Shred Monkey cough). The more I think about it the more I could see skipping it, but I can't see exactly what your build goals are without plugging your build into Mids. -
Oooh for cones, I may have to rethink my Flashing Steel slotting. It'd be a great time to switch up to 5 purps and that.
Oh man I want to go home and play with builds now. -
I personally wouldn't skip my T9 attack, it's a good cone and does good damage. Then again I don't play DB anymore and highest DPS chains didn't matter to me on that toon.
-
Before the PvP changes I would occasionally stick my head in and join a fight or two.
After the changes I refuse to step foot in any of those zones. -
The analogy could just go so many different ways.
In my eyes, even if the second runner has to run slower than the guy who does it often, he'd still be burning more endurance over time because the first runner is trained to do it.
The first runner is A) Faster (killing speed) B) Better Conditioned (Endurance Cost). In that sense, a scrapper/blaster should be better overrall at killing enemies, not just faster. -
There's a new -res proc? Please inform, I've been out of the loop for a while.

So I was gonna go with the popular choice of tough and weave but I'm not sure if I wan't to do that. I always preferred maneuvers and tactics because they're more team friendly. Also if I do that, there isn't a wasted ability like there would be if I took tough and weave (kick).
In terms of the medicine pool, would you take aid other or stimulant?
[/ QUOTE ]
Tactics is now better than FA but maneuvers is a terrible power for scrappers, it costs more than weave to run and gives a pooptastic 3.5% defence, combat jump gives 3% and costs a fraction of the end cost or slot a steadfast +3% def for no end cost. As for being team friendly, being a scrapper means you are giving out amongst the lowest values of leadership as they run differently depending on the AT, sacrificing your survivability to give meagre buffs to team mates is not a way I would like to go. Dont get me wrong, I have leaderships on a couple of scrappers but thats because I had the room and endurance to drop them in but I dont think SD does or should have the room (just finished mine) You will get far more value from tough and weave (which cost less to run than leadership toggles) as they are stacking on mitigation that you already have.
Let buff ATs buff, you should focus on punching faces.

The only time I've picked up Maneuvers on a scrapper is the case of my Kat/WP. I had 1 power pick free and tons of endurance, and my defenses were at 41.7% without. Why not softcap and give me another slot for the 5th LotG, I always say.
Edit: Then again, I'll be tweaking my build very soon since I just came back and realized there's another +3% defense IO. -
Kat/WP, of course.
I've solo'd some of the nastier AVs on a reliable basis and the only ones I haven't, I can't access easily.
That reminds me, I need to go do the Ouro TF again and see how many of them I can down (Most important, LR, who I'm assuming still rapes me). -

If there is anything that you think should go into the guide, let me know and I'll put it in.

Can you please, please also put in some information for a build that uses just SOs? Almost all of the guides I see nowdays show a build at level 50 with 6 trillion worth of purples and special ultra-supa-dupa-rare IOs.
Some of us have neither the time nor the inclination to purple-out a character. We'd like some powerset and build advice too.

No problem, I've got a little section in there about SO/Generic IO slotting. I've also got my comments on Frankenslotting as well. -
Well in all honestly I'm open ears, Um.
At this point I was going to put in what was considered the highest dps attack chain, my current attack chain, and general notes on constructing your own attack chain. All with corresponding recharges of course.
Since you've been thinking about writing a guide for it, if you wanted to make a little write up for Katana I'd be happy to include it in my guide and give you the credit for the section. Let me know if that's something you'd like to do. -
So I'm nearly done with the guide, I'm missing a few sections that I can't do at work, such as example builds and attack chain calculations.
If there is anything that you think should go into the guide, let me know and I'll put it in (with due credit, of course).
If you just wanted to put in your build as an example, you can do that too, just post it here and I'll check before I post the final.
If you just wanted to review it for yourself to see if you feel I'm neglecting something, also let me know, and I'll PM it to you either tonight when I get home or tomorrow morning.
I hope everyone will enjoy it and I'll be sure to announce when it's up here. -
Just as a reference, my Katana chain is what I run because it requires very little +recharge in my build. There is a better chain out there but the amount of recharge skyrockets.

That's also ignoring the fact that MA has other powers within it that it can use to stack up the stun with. None of the other power sets mentioned have a power with which they can stack the effect. You can also increase the duration of Cobra Strike but you can't increase the duration of either of the powers mentioned.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well....ToF's -tohit stacks with the entire set. But besides that yeah, I was just pointing out that DA/Parry and ToF are better standalone powers that are potent out of the box. -
Thanks Um, so at max you'll need 25% global recharge to sustain either of the two chains. Adding more helps against slows and the like.
-
90 second uptime, 650 second downtime. To get a 1:1 ratio you need it down to 180 seconds, which is about 261% +recharge.
Assuming 95% from recharge IO's, 70% from hasten, that leaves with about 96% global +recharge. Assuming purples and proper slotting yeah it's very feasible.
Edit: Um's faster than me, since I have to turn away from the screen when my boss comes around, haha. -
Also:
Bah, I guess people are still waiting on my Katana/WP guide. Stupid RL crap. I'll get on it. -

Katana goes well with anything...
...except Shields. A Kat/Shield Scrapper would be too much awesome, and would format the servers the moment it appeared in Outbreak. This is why you can't make one.
