Doesn't solve the issue of an approx £500 bill for parts that may as well be paperweights tho... I've too much invested in this and there's no turning back now. I will get this fixed.

I installed and ran a temperature monitor last night while running CoH to crashing point - the temperature of the CPU & GPU was well within normal levels when it happened so it's unlikley to be the heatsink at fault now.

The PSU is brand new but, as you say, it could be faulty. I'll get a voltage monitor and try that tonight.

Well I logged in again for a laugh and managed about 3 minutes of sublime lag-free motion in GV before whatever's happening, happened again.

Thanks for the advice Canine, though I've not exatly been hard at it since I chatted to you last night - there is such a thing as going to work that got in the way. Early days yet, but that heatsink possibility scares me badly.

Due to a combination of a lovely graphics card, lousy teething problems and elbows deep in electrical innards, I may or may not be able to make it for the Trapper night tomorrow.

If I don't see you all, rest assured it's because I'm working as hard as I can to get my new PC sorted. Conversely if I do see you, it's because I'm slacking off and using my housemate's PC!

They could potentially make an Earth Assault set out of Stone Melee and some ranged powers the Legacy Chain use (and Hurl Boulder, of course!).

If the devs aren't sticking with a themed secondary to go with Earth Control, then both the Dark and Electric powersets provide the most compomnents to work into a new set in the shortest time.

Or maybe a weapon-based set of some kind? A Ninja Assault set combining Ninja Blade/Katana with Trops and shuriken?

So, is Power Sink worth it for the AR/Trapper on-the-go?

After spending last weekend setting up my new PC parts, exactly what I feared happened and I'm going to be without a PC for the immediate future, maybe for as long as it takes for my delayed gfx card to arrive at the start of March.

What this means is that I'll not be able to make it to Trapper and Dom nights, from immediate notice. We're looking at making a temporary PC out of spare parts but that will take a bit of time so I'm definitely MIA tonight folks, sorry.

All the patrons are more or less balanced against each other as far as doms are concerned - the only exception being GW, who is simply weaker than Scirocco (and therefore the rest as well).

Water Spout works very well for some dom powersets. Sadly, I think Fire has the worst synergy of them all since the Imps rely on being in melee to do anything. With a ranged pet powerset (espcially Plant Control gives you the Creeper pesuo-pets too), the chaos Water Spout causes will be much more limited to the enemy...

I took Black Scorpion for my mind/psi mostly for the defence-based shield, which I find incredibly handy. The P-Ray is also extremely good value as it recharges nice and fast and can make a big difference versus AVs etc.

The Toxic Tarantula... I didn't bother to pick up. I wanted a pet that intimidates, but the devs didn't even bother to give us a full-sized one!

So I can't comment on how good the Tiny Toxic Tarantula is. It looks good on paper, but in the end I think I've gotten more for my money by picking another regular power instead.

It does depend on your primary, really. I could see an Ice/Fire dom taking a 2nd endurance healing power...

Nope Johnny's done and dusted, Hardcase was the final contact in the 35-40 range we had to do.

Of course Wailers aren't that deadly, but they're deadly boring after nearly 10 levels of them...

Monday was a fun evening, we had even a new Trapper join us which was cool.

Also, finished off Hardcase's missions (no more Wailers yaaaay!!) which means it's probably paper missions next week and until one of us hits lvl 40 and we can emigrate. Which should be 1-2 weeks at most, so not bad at all really!

It's already been confirmed by Castle in the US that this is an error of omission from the patch notes. Corruptor Flares were affected the same as the others.

Sorry for the late notice, as usual. Probably best to assume that it's happening unless I mention well in advance to the contrary.

The Mu effects are as you would expect - red versions of other electric powers.

Half of GW's powers use the same effects as regular dark powers, though her tentacley powers are not black, but a vivid purple/yellow/white.

In terms of in-game abilities though, unless you're really in love with GW, Scirocco is equal to or better than GW for Doms on every count.

Scirocco's armour resists smash/lethal/energy in equal and decent amounts, the 3 most common damage types in the game. GW's armour resists rarer damage types and to a smaller degree.

GW's end drain power takes THREE TIMES longer to recharge than Scirocco's.

All the patron pets available to dominators are nice, but Scirocco's is generally considered the best of them since it heals.

GW may be a dominator herself but she's pretty stingy to her fellow doms...
