I haven't RPed in years. None of my current CoX characters have ever been used for RP, with the exception of my first villain Rose Prince whose story was rebooted. Honestly, I just don't even know how to start anymore. My IRL friend and I run a two-man VG for all our characters so joining another one isn't an option. Nobody RPs in the field, and everyone in the D is an angsty brooding teenager whereas most of my characters are 30-something and too old for high school crap. So my characters have storyline that just sort of got written between my friend and I behind the scenes, with no acctual RP happening at all.
I'd love for my Brute, Brimshock, to get into some RP. He's a very Sandman/Rhino-inspired super-powered thug who just needs someone he can call "Boss" and follow around like the collossal idiot he is. Or then there's Dr. December, who I've always wanted to fill the "good-natured genius" role in a sort of Avengers-styled, non-themed group, and probably the only character I'd considder getting romantically involved with anyone given the Rogue-style "touch me and you might freeze to death" drama potential. -
So yeah, it seems that I delayed too long on getting all my Incarnate slots maxed out, because now that the new-content smell is wearing off now nobody wants to do it anymore. So I end up loggin on periodically during the day to silent airwaves and the occasional calls for STF. The usual global channels are dead and trying to use the LFG function is like waiting for God to deliver a woman to my doorstep.
So since every other major piece of content is run on a usual schedual, have we established a time or day to run WSTs or Trials? -
Hmmm, well I guess I'll throw Capt. Stormrider's name into the hat.
-
So it seems like nobody, at least on Virtue, is willing to just hit the queue button and pray anymore, because my "< 1 min" wait to find a BAF has taken roughly twenty minutes and I'm getting awfuly bored of doing nothing. It's been like this for at least a week in my experience and unless I'm just really unlucky I can only guess this means people are premaking teams in a top secret meeting spot I can't seem to locate.
This could have been avoided if I didn't have to grind the sh*t out of two missions 19 billion times to meet obscene requirements. Rabble rabble optional content rabble derp. Just somebody tell me what zone I should be ******* myself in to get on one of these mythical Trial teams. -
Does anyone know yet what determines which reward table you get at the end of a trial? Because I heard it's dependant on how much damage you dealt. I don't want to believe the devs would implement a system that flat-out screws supports/tanks...

Quote:I always figured it was supposed to be like what your comic book would be titled, like "The Amazing Spider-Man" or "The Uncanny X-Men". As such, I prefer keeping it trimmed to one word but I'll go for two if it works.Frankly, I never liked using the titles. They just seem... cluttered, to me. Badge titles, sure, I like those. But the actual title titles? Not so much. Not that I don't want them in the game, it's just that they don't appeal to my tastes.
Again, I'm running around with a main that doesn't even have any sort of hero name...
And as for "Mysterious"...I just use "Enigmatic". It's close enough for me. -
So, lemme get this straight NC...
There is no concievable way that my Brute can be "The Unstoppable Brimshock"? Y'all came up with seven differant titles starting with U, and none of you thought to add "Unstoppable"!?
I am dissapoint.
On that note, nothing amongst the normal, vetran, or science titles seems to properly convey the feeling of a destructive magma flow. Being an RPer sucks sometimes. -

Quote:I think your sarcasm detector needs some repairs.MS Raid = Mothership Raid.
It's not incarnate content, it's an open zone event for characters of level 35 or up (ok, technically anyone can participate but you need to be 35+ for the full rewards). Basically a few teams get together can take down all of the pylons in the RWZ. This lowers the shields on the mothership which is full of level 54 Rikti. In addition to the normal rewards these Rikti give a Vanguard Merit to every member of every team that damages them. This is therefore the easiest way to get Vanguard Merits. A complete raid will generally 300-600 merits depending on how well the teams do. -
How do you get these things? I've gotten two and I have no idea how.
Also, how useless are they going to be come Issue 21?
(Okay that last part is just me being bitter...) -
GRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGIRND Judgement Unlocked! GRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRIND GRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRIND Interface Unlocked! GRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRIND GRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRINDGRIND GRINDGRINDGRINDGRIND
What's a MS raid? I only know about BAF/Lambda. -
As an update, my recent BAF runs have been nothing but success. Wicked bad lag during the escape sequence has made it impossible to get the badge, kinda ticked off about that because it's obviously a serverside issue. The fact that so many people are getting their new powers is helping immensely. Nothing like a series of Judgements to tell a crowd of 9CUs to eff off. Got my Lore finally.
I'm still really, really not wanting to do Lambda. It is the first mission that I can truely say I hate. There are just too many ways for it to go wrong and far too easy for them to happen. I'm almost tempted to forgo my Destiny slot until other means are added to unlock it. -
I'm not exactly part of a big network of people, so I've relied on LFG to match me up with people. I can safely confirm that LFG is the worst system ever created. I have thus far only succeeded in BAF twice, every other attempt (And there have been MANY) at either trial has ended in broken bones and shattered dreams. Somehow I've managed to bludgeon my way through enough to unlock my T2 Judgement and T1 Interface, and I'm still trying to motivate myself enough to grind out the next two slots. Judgement has made things easier in BAF, but Lambda still gives me nightmares.
From all other testimonials I've seen, the key to success is having allies you can rely on. Attempting to play through the Trials with randomly selected teammates is a recipe for disaster. So far I'm miserable, angry pirate and really don't want to suffer more for my slots. It's that bad. -
So lately I've been farming +0/x8 missions solo in an effort to hopefully snag some purple IOs, and I'm trying to find the most efficient way to go about it. What is comes down to is whether or not Bosses have a greater chance of dropping rare/very rare recipies (or salvage for that matter). Can minions even drop purples? What's more efficient, +0/x8 with or without bosses?

Quote:Recolor Pyronic and play it off as some sort of totally-not-from-DBZ ki blast? /shrugI'm going to skip filling this slot until there's a more physical tree added to it - I'd like something to go with my MA attacks
Heck, I'm trying to find excuses to give my characters Pyronic. That thing is just epic looking. -
Likewise, Reactive is pretty damn obvious. It's like a bright effing golden fireball around the target's torso.
Side note: It procs off of individual hits, not power activation, which means every single tick of my Freezing Rain has a chance to apply it. I freaking love this thing. -
The grind is bad, yes. And it would have been avoided if the Devs weren't so hell-bent on introducing a new collectable resource every god damn patch.
First it was Inf. Your basic cash.
Then Salvage. Okay, this makes it feel more like you're acctually getting items like in other games. Cool.
Then Merits. Not too bad, it's basically just a differant way of doing reward rolls and gives people more options. I can live with it.
Then Incarnate Shards/Components. Well...I guess we do need a good way of seperating endgame content from the other content, so yeah, I guess this is fair...
Now Incarnate Threads/Components. Okay...Isn't this what Shards were for? Did we really need an entire friggin' new category of salvage for the next four slots? Is this what I have to look forward to for the slots following those? WTF do you want me to do with the now-worthless Shards I'll no doubt be getting, since I can't transfer them to my other characters?
Finally Astral/Empyrean Merits. Okay. Enough is enough. WHAT THE HELL IS THE PURPOSE OF THESE? There is none. There is absolutely no reason at all for these items to exist. You simply needed something arbitrary to throw in to make our prior efforts useless and force us to grind your new content. You have successfully created the game Jack Emmert wanted. And I'd put money on it happening again next patch. We'll end up with MacGuffin Merits and Incarnate T-Shirts to collect, and they can only be found in the shiney new mission you have to jump through flaming hoops while reciting Shakspeare from memory to complete. Oh, and don't forget about the 999999999999 adds that spawn while you're doing this. -
Quote:Y'know what? I'm totally in agreement with that. Next time I attempt this I'm going to coerce my group into going after the acid exclusively. Honestly, what's the point of getting grenades quicker anyways? Apparently there's a time limit increase if you get both up to a certain amount. Hell if I know, I haven't seen that get accomplished yet.In before "lrn2play"...oh, dang.
Lambda was sold on being completable with an 8 man team, and the raid system is designed for PUGs. From what I saw those two are simply mutually exclusive.
There's also the fact of the matter that the molecular acid is so wildly more valuable and raid-altering that I'm tempted the next time I run to have the entire league or at least a much larger group raid the labs rather than split evenly.
Screw it, acids or bust. Just gather some grenades after the fact. -
Yep.
So how exactly did Marauder's personal legion get past playtesting? Because I hate to break it to you but there is no way that an average 8-man, randomly-selected PUG can deal with this. Call me bitter, but the content after GR has gone from bad to worse. Stacking spawns on top of stacking spawns. I remember when things like this were considdered a bug! -
Oh...Wow...
I need to find a character I can work that Fire power into, because that is freaking epic. -
Maybe during testing or whatnot? Because there is one factor that is burning at my psyche...
COLOR.
I use the default red lightning on my Corruptor, but I have a funny feeling that Judgement is going to use the heroic blue defaults...And that's just not cool.
Am I going to be able to fire off my evil red Judgement lightning, or do I have to settle for not-so-evil blue Judgement lightning? -
Costume creator, the lowest d*ckwad count on the internet, limitless three-dimensional movement no-stings-attatched (suck it WoW), the ability to be freaking anything, free expansions (suck it more WoW), and Ghost Widow's hawtness.

Quote:VS is perm by default...60 Second recharge, 60 second lifespan. It's a free Charged Bolts on autocast. I fail to see how that's gimped.Lets see it either be able to stack or be semi-perm like controller pets. Both VS and the gun turret should be addressed.
But anyways this is about the graphical bug. My VS is having an identity crisis and thinks it's a hero. Is anyone else having this problem at least, so I know I'm not crazy? -
I can't imagine I'm the only one to have run into this, but since it hasn't been fixed for months then I'm gonna point it out...
Why is my Voltaic Sentinal blue?
I don't know why, but this is the only power I've seen that for some reason uses the default Hero color instead of the appropriate Villain color. Now I know that I could just go to the tailor and manually change it to red, but that's not the point. The point is that something is messed up, and has been for quite awhile (I think this has been present since Power Customization was released).
