I suggest Cadaver Crackdown (ArcID: 367963).
Commander Shepard approved. Hopefully you do too. -
Quote:As it is, the one I'm working on pretty much has to be huge. Not specifically because of the story, but because it needs to feel massive.
As an author in any medium, this is one of the largest mistakes you can possibly make. Padding out a story for the sake of making it larger is something to avoid. A story should be large because the plot demands it, or short, because the plot demands it. If you want a large storyline, then the plot itself.. every point, every twist, everything, must make complete sense in that context, and add to the overall depth of the tale. Adding in unnecessary objectives, or throwing roadblocks at the player just to do it will result in low scores, and people quitting early.
Quote:It's basically the player in a war to bring down Malta by any means neccesary, and managing to do that in four or five missions just wouldn't feel right.
Good advice for authoring in any medium (and hell, ANY creative process): Take your time, be patient. Think it through, plot it out, have at least some idea of where your story starts, where it ends, and why it gets there (not how, why). Then make sure it makes sense, you must be willing to alter your story fundamentally in order to end up with a good final product.
Hope that was helpful. -
Hopefully these are better than the last ones.

My GF is going though one of her old arcs, sprucing it up, only to find out that it isn't publishable or testable. She is getting NO error messages. Anything commonly known of that might be causing this?
-
For the record, it was my interference that screwed up that mission.
-
She's gonna change the seocnd mission to have some enemies in it.
-
I hope you guys enjoy it It wasn't what I expected. She worked on this for several months and I kept myself spoiler free. Finally played it tonight, and I had fun personally (actually, I loved it!)

Some mysteries are better left unsolved... Others beg you to solve them.
Cadaver Crackdown
Paragon City seems to bust at the seams with glamour, at least in most of its sectored "zones". Kings Row is not as fortunate, but the Paragon City Police Department's Precinct IX ensures that Kings Row is absolutely, perfectly, fine...
By: @Star of Thade
ArcID: 367963
Keywords: Complex Mechanics, Mystery, Drama
Length: Very Long
Morality: Heroic
Levels: 1-20
(Ignore the warnings about higher level enemies in lower level missions. It's bunk.)

I found my photoshop files for these so if there are any other requests, or if you have other GR or CoH related media that would make good wallpapers, let me know guys.

If you are wanting to get more into RP, I heartily recommend avoiding Pocket D as all costs.

Quote:I respec'd into itBeing elec/ means you can ride on the strength of thunderstrike and don't really need sharks. It is a very nice attack though. I will say though in this case it works out to were your theme/concept doesn't work against you, be aware that usually building for theme or concept will cost you a lot of effectiveness in pvp. Yes, it can be silly throwing sharks from your hands. The fact is though its the best attack you can get your hands on, and its ranged to boot.
It's holograms. If I had a technologically advanced suit with active camouflage and limited holographic generation ability, the ability to throw a projectile and make it look like a shark would be very high on my list.
I know that if I was just walking along minding my own business, and then suddenly there is a shark flying at me, I would um.. panic. Yes, that's it, I would panic. -
This is regarding my elec/nin stalker.
Is it stupid not to take sharks? Serious question, since it violates my theme in every possible way I can imagine, but if they truly are that good.. well, I might figure it out anyways
Are there any good reasons to take other patrons? -
It's actually pretty simple, but you have to treat the Architect system for exactly what it's meant to be: A holodeck.
When the player is roleplaying a part in a "fictional" universe, they take on the new part in that universe. No dictation of actions required. All you have to do is show them a service record, or work their history into dialogue in some elegant fashion, and then play off of that during the story.
I went in another direction with Aru Prime, that which you reviewed recently, but I could have easily gone in this direction. In fact, part of me wanted to. While you want the player to help define part of their character by giving them choices on how to approach a mission, injecting their own style, there's no issue with telling them who they are. The "Commander" from Aru Prime for instance, has a service history, a reason he or she is being called upon by the Admiral, why they carry the rank of Commander, etcetera. Like I said, I went in a different direction with this arc, but in an upcoming one, I will be going down this route I think.
You can apply this to almost any story, and it's a perfectly good thing to do as long as you do it elegantly.
How to do that without the holodeck setting is beyond me, but I really enjoy the holodeck style settings anyways. The ones I have played have ended up being the most immersive to me. -
At +1 x2 my Archery Blaster had serious issues, and Aisy died during the last fight.
EDIT: Also, I will edit it and make sure that what is one of her "side projects" and what is part of her primary motivation, remains clear. I mean, this is obviously not meant to be an award winning serious arc or anything, but I do want things to be clear.
Her primary goal is regarding Pluto's planetary status, but she's also an astronomer and astrophysicist and therefore, her lab contains some information on side projects of hers (and an IM log of a conversation with a horrible jackass of a man). -
You can check out "The Thief!" if you like. It's a 1 mission arc, though if you don't get a lot of the references, it may not be super interesting.

Okay, cause I always miss the broadcast due to RL reasons, I am always doing something at that time.

Any idea when you will have the archiver back up?
I wouldn't mind supporting you with some cash, I just don't have it. -
I'm confused. Will downloading the show still be free? What is it that costs money precisely?
Also I submitted my final arc. -
I don't mean to sound purely self interested, but when is mine up for a play?
Glad to see you are back at it by the way -
This would probably get more appropriate (and more) attention on the general forum. That said, though I don't have an iPhone, I think this is a great idea.
