He's messing with us. Remember a long while ago when the vanguard stuff game out and the devs said something along the lines of "We made the mistake of making most of the NPC costumes NPC-exclusive. We're not going to make that mistake again".
Or maybe I'm thinking of Champions Online. -
Alright, well fair enough. I do like some of the Broadsword animations.
The main thing that bother me about Broadsword is it looks like a 'wasted potential' type of weapon. Basically I see my character holding this ******* sword with a long hilt and think "Why doesn't he throw in a few two-handed swings for more power?". Seeing that free hand has started to bother me lately concept wise.
Eh, I'm just being anal. -

The big difference though is that 'blast' sets are all basically the same concept (shoot stuff out of your hands) and that most of the new custom weapons actually look BAD paired with these animations.

Power customizations has been one of the most amazing things to come out of this game, and believe me, I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth.
I know the developers have hinted towards adding more to Power Customization and I'd like to draw everyone's attention to one of the most stale animation sets in the whole game: The BS/Axe/Mace animations.
It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that Martial Arts received brand new animations for a set that already used unique animations when three power sets, featuring VERY different weapons all share the same animations!
I would really like to see a nice set of alternate animations for these sets, more specifically...
two handed animations.
A majority of the weapons look absolutely silly being flung around with one hand. The Carnival Mallet, Rikti broadsword, Lumberjack Axe, and Warhammer look particularly silly.
I personally have been hoping for these alternate two-handed animations ever since Issue 2 when katana recieved completely new animations for this exact reason. -
Yeah, I renewed my subscription about two months ago to make a SS/Shield Brute with the new animations and I've yet to see the awesomeness of the new KO blow with a shield ]:
Huh... this is my first "Post after a red name" ever. I feel like I should use this opportunity wisely.

Maybe 'stale' was the wrong choice of words. What I'm going for is really is 'too familiar' or 'routine'. This is simply from my point of view seeing as I've played this game since a month after launch in 2004.
The game was just 'too' familiar.
Now other day I decided to purchase the Martial Arts Booster for the Ninja Run, all I can say is 'wow'!
There are new animations for every movement. Jumping forward, backward, strafing, backtracking, stances.. every movement was new.
This, paired with Dual Blades made this feel like a completely new game! Everything was awesomely fresh again!
I remember a few years ago the devs said they could definitely put in different 'stances' and 'movements'. I just want to throw in my 2 cents and say this would breathe so much new life into the game.
I've always loved the game, but now it feels like a new experience again. -
Sorry to be a Grumpy Gus here, but I think this is a forgotten issue.
It's been over a month since BaBs said he fixed the Custom Animations issue with Shields and SuperStrength/Martial Arts internally.
We've had several patches since then and I'm wondering if this issue is even still on the table. I don't think I've 'called for a Red Name' since I've started playing this game but I'd really like a dev to atleast confirm that they still know this is bugged and whether or not they're going to fix it.
In all honesty about 50% of the reason I reactivated my account last month was because of the new KO Blow animation. Finally no more of that Popeye crap.
The other 50% was shields. -
I've run into a pretty major problem here. I'm not entirely sure if it's related to the client, but I'm wondering if someone else has had this problem and fixed it.
I was running CoH from my laptop. I got to the login screen, logged in, and once I got to the server select screen I got a blue screen and my computer restarted. Now the internet does not work on my laptop at all after the blue screen. I've tried reinstalling the drivers, directly connecting it to the modem, system restore, nothing is working. -
Does anyone know for sure if the devs are aware of this issue?
I've searched the forums for a redname post that addresses this and I can't find anything. -
I remember in the long, long ago that if you used an attack and draw your weapon the following attack would have a shorter animation that made up for the time you spent drawing your weapon on the first attack.
This doesn't work anymore but I used to constantly use it strategically on my Broadsword Scrapper back in '04. -
I've been using Joytokey to play CoH with a PS2 controller since about 2004.
It doesn't seem to be working anymore.
I doubt anyone is experiencing this problem since I can't think of anyone else who plays this game with a controller. -

So I noticed that Super Strength animation customization does not work with a shield out.
Does this mean I'm stuck with the old Knock Out Blow animation or is there a different animation for that with a shield? -
Zeb Cooke, the guy in charge of CoV's development mentioned several times, and in video interviews that Villains and Heroes would be able to Reform and Fall from Grace to switch sides prior to CoV's release.
Unfortunately this guy was canned due to some downsizing. Shame, I started leveling 2 Heroes and 2 Villains that I wanted to switch sides. -

Almost as under-appreciated as the Marvel vs Capcom 2 soundtrack. If I ever make another video I'm going to use the Clock Tower song from Marvel vs Capcom 2. -

I actually have a female character that flies and uses Dual Blades (and has all the attacks). The animations look nice, they almost flow better than the grounded versions. I can make a video if you want here in a bit. -
They are loads of fun, I love them.
They're not exactly up my alley though since I like playing Brutish sluggers as opposed to graceful speedsters.
But if that's your thing, this set is just a-freakin-mazing. -
