Contest Art
Offhand I don't know how but I know there is a way. I've seen lots of stuff linked from DA. CR should chime in shortly with the correct "grammar"
CB does some really great characters. This prize is no exception. Congo Rats!
Roxy On DA...Finally!
As Toadliquor’s wife, I’m the lucky recipient of the “ignoring orange text” prize. I hope this is the right spot to post this.
Toadliquor, you are a super Smartypants! Thank you so much for this wonderful Christmas gift. Don’t forget, though: you were stuck on the puzzle all day at work until we started talking it through out loud.
I’d like to thank ChristopherRobin for coordinating this great contest. You sir are one of the many many reasons that this community is the best of all. I’d like to thank all the wonderful artists that donated their time and talents to the contests as well.
The character I chose to immortalize is my main, a broadsword/shield scrapper that I created on the day shield defense came out. I make a ton of alts, dozens of them get deleted, and she was originally supposed to be a jokey kind of creation: big, mean and slow; a fantasy medieval look in a tights-and-masks world; with a cumbersome name to boot. But when I started playing her, I discovered she fit my playstyle perfectly. Yes, she was slow, but she hit hard, with authority. I really liked that. And then came shield charge and way over soft cap defenses, hol-ee schneikeys!
Toadliquor will have a laugh if I say this: “properly buffed, she tanks like a beast”
She’s been the one I bring to get badges, accolades, kill AVs, do crafting, events, etc.
She is based on Erik the Red’s daughter, here is a little article on Wikipedia about Freydis: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freyd%C...Dksd%C3%B3ttir.
So without further ado, CoH, please meet Freyda Eiriksdottir:

I’d like to thank Isikol for his wonderful work. It reminds me a little of the movie Excalibur (the visuals for that movie have always made my jaw drop). I’m overwhelmed at how well his artwork portrays her expression, body language and overall sense of badassedness that I felt when I played her.
I highly recommend Isikol because he was polite, professional, and fast. He asked questions and listened to what I had to say. Please do think about immortalizing your best loved characters with some artwork. It takes a little of the sting out of losing them forever.
The artists will get more exposure too and that is part of the goal here. Many have gotten commission work already as a result of participating in the coXso event.

If you want to see the correct "syntax" () you can quote my post.
You can also thumbnail it with a link to the big version by clicking the image but that takes more work
and it might just be easier for most people to host in on photobucket or some site that does all the link generating for you.

You are most welcome. I'm glad you are so happy with the turnout and yeah the prize really speaks for itself.
Also I posted this over in the CoXso Prize Artz Unite! thread in all access for you, feel free to add your comments there as well.
Cheers!
That pic from Isikol is just awesome, I wonder how much he charges for commissions? Dont see anything on his site.

Not every artist I got to participate is open for commissions at this time... or ever for that matter.
Through coXso some people have won what they could not buy, even if they wanted to and had the money.
I just received the following art as one of my two contest prizes. ( This one is of my first character, Hercules, an INV/SS Tanker ).
Thanks much to Christopher Robbin for holding the contests and to Celtic Bolt for making this piece. Pretty cool:

If anyone else wants to showcase their prizes, I guess we could use this thread.... be nice to show them all in one place.
BTW, is there any way to show the picture directly from DA instead of using a link?
