PWI > NCsoft..discussion
*looks at the post carefully..*
Nope, only see one thing. And even that thing is tentative, as in, they could change that... like, oh, chopping off STO or CO like CoH was done...
And... I just gotta ask... why is this relevant? Showing up NCSoft as being 'bad'? Touting PWI as being 'good'?

Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012
Have you ever played Perfect World? PWI is HORRIBLE, their namesake game is a pay-to-win nightmare.
-You can shell out money for their cubigold and convert that into ingame currency
-You can BUY AN NPC TANK to run the dungeons for you
-Most items from the cash shop can't be bought individually, you have to buy a lottery box and hope you get it
-That lottery box you just spent $10 on can contain a level 1 potion instead of the sword mount you were after
-As a venomancer, if there's a rare pet you want you're ****** unless you buy an egg off the RMT campers or item mall
CO isn't like that...yet but I'm still wary of giving that company any money.
there can be differences without saying one is good other bad. True PWI is a cash *****..but they dont sunset their games.

I suppose the income they sucker out of Perfect World players enables them to afford sustaining their other games...

No company is immune from saying "oh, that's it for that." I am not going to believe it won't happen. Even a rebirth of Co* has me slightly wary, in that there is no guarantee it will stick around forever either on it's second life.
But again, I question why this thread even exists in the first place, except to spark an argument about why PWI is 'better' or not.
Which I repeat, is relevant... why?

Nothing lasts for ever whether if it's a game fro NCSoft, Nexon, dude next door, or PWI. If it is a MMO eventually like any other game, support will eventually cease. Unlike console games, when support is ceased, the game is still functional.
There was and or is a big uproar that EA is ceasing support for the online service for Madden 10 and other games. Meaning players are no longer able to play online with other players, but the single player is able to function, but that did not make people less angrier as many complained that they spent $60 on the game and various other stuff while playing while only to have it suddenly shut off when many players still wanted to play.
Some just take longer than others so it is risky unless the companies start putting an exact expiration date on games, which I dont think they will, they can go at any moment. Some dont make it past the first update. If they did put an exact date on games of when all support will cease if mean they may be stuck with a flopping product for said lifetime. And also, it might mean that people will jump ship as time gets near that expiration date, unless they just easily say that are extending the date and then they have to figure how long again until eventually it too will be time to go to sleep.
