Have some fun and show us your very first character

My first character was the Minibromian. He was a Yoda-like character who embodied the Force of good. His name was a play on Midi-chlorian (with a touch of the Merovingian). After I created him I deleted him and tried to recreated him, I think because he started out as a controller and I wanted to make him a defender (or vice versa). Unfortunately I didn't manage to recreate the look and ended up disliking his look and as a result didn't play him much.

Well, that and because I really wanted a more action oriented hero. In the end I settled on TwoSeventyOne, my scrapper, who was a combination of Trinity and Neo and is the only character I got to level 50.

Meet Zerenade. Real name: Yvettte Fultoni. As a little girl, she was stricken blind by Bird Flu, the same virus that killed her parents. After bouncing from foster home to foster home she eventually found herself on the streets, blind and begging in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Then one day, a battle between cosmic entities (Van Ruhle the formless and Nim Nerathim the cosmic wanderer) landed in her ally. Literally. When defeated, Van Ruhle vowed to eventually get revenge, and poured his remaining power into the nearest Vessel.

The next day, Zerenade awoke to find strange powers. She had manipulation and mastery over sound so much so that she could teleport by quantum entangling her molecules with another spot through vibrations, a superb sense of hearing that gave her near clairvoyance despite not having sight, and a magic bow that fired arrows of energy from out of thin air. Along with this came the desire to fight... something. She didn't know what. All she knew was she was inspired, and immediately sought out to be a superhero.

Years later, something had changed....



She started acting differently and doing peculiar things. Then one day, she flipped and become a monster. Donning a new outfit and a hunger for destruction and worship. She had gained strange and dark powers and an incomprehensible strength, so much that her screams put out megatons of energy and her body was nearly indestructible. With every hero in paragon helpless against the shrieking monster of darkness, salvation came from the most unlikely source: My first villain and her arch-nemesis...



Allatrope. Real name: Nathanial Saurion. Allatrope was a praetorean resistance member and terrorist, who after becoming jaded and disenchanted with the whole war, sought to disappear from that world. He has severe aspergers syndrome which lead to his detachment from people, and also his amazing computation abilities. Allatrope had discovered a way to displace capacitor plates slightly out of sync with this dimension, using the potential difference between W.I.M.P.s of different dimensional frequencies to create a self-recharging battery with a nearly endless supply of electricity. Using this shifting property, Allatrope made a suit that allowed him to phase out of reality and become invisible (at least until he greatly interacts with something and his indeterminate wave function form collapses into a solid and visible object). This, unfortunately, could not be replicated by anyone since all of the equations for it were only in his head. Fusing this into his suit and with some highly modified praetorean kinetic generators, Allatrope jumped dimensions to do odd jobs in the rogue islands. He had finally disappeared...

Until, of course, Zerenade came about. Allatrope's suit creates a warbling distortion in background sound that Zerenade could pick up from in a 10 mile radius in open air. She could easily dispatch of Allatrope, leading to his subsequent captures. This put Allatrope into "the system", which completely ruined his plans to be alone, making him frequently monitored, known about, and hunted. Allatrope swore revenge against Zerenade for ruining his newfound life.

At least he did, until he discovered that Zerenade was possessed by an interdimensional demon. Seeing the beast's immense power before anyone else, new he had to gain immense power to kill it. After "negotiations" with arachnos, Allatrope created a magically powered suit and used it to captured and displaced Death Surge into in two dimensions, tapping himself into Dr. Aeons energy grid and increasing his power output fifty fold. With his magically powered science super suit, Allatrope sought to put an end to Zerenade's misery.


The battle was epic. Whole buildings collapsed, the ground was flattened by the pressure and baked by the arcing electricity. Allatrope was losing, so he put all of his faith into one last Power Surge, which upon releasing caused his mystical suit to dissolve, releasing everything in a gigantic explosion of magic and lightning that put Zerenade into a coma.

...But not Van Ruhle, who used the dimensional distortion to create a pocket dimension of dream space that linked directly into Allatrope and Zerenade's minds. It was here that it was learned that Van Ruhle was in a quantum state of perpetual uncertainty, changing shape and power depending how how he was perceived. In a last ditch effort, Van Ruhle attempted to possess Allatrope to continue living on. Allatrope fought back, and after this dream/astral battle ended it was Allatrope who was victorious. After tearing Van Ruhle's head off, Allatrope fled from the scene (he was a wanted super villain, after all) with Zerenade over is shoulder. No one is sure what happened with those two afterwards....

Dr. Infinite, Empathy/Psychic Blast Defender

Dr. Infinite (now known as Dr. Hollywood due to a server change) officially retired from herodom after 1067 hours and amassing 1189 badges. Following the destruction of Galaxy City, she took it upon herself to take up Back Ally Brawler's post in the city's Echo, signifying a passing of the torch (BAB was her first trainer way back when).

My first character was named SkyRocker after the handle I've had since the early 90's and my BBS (remember those?) days. He was made late May/early June of 2005. I had a 10 days free trial and it took me about an hour to make this costume (Still takes me about that long if I have a "look" in mind.)

I made him a tanker because the game info on the website said that if you weren't familiar with the game you'd best make a tanker because they could take a lot of punishment. I actually never got him beyond level 10, if that. I joined the game for the social aspect but I created him on the Guardian (or Protector) server not knowing some had more population than others. I got tired of soloing, heard here on the boards that some servers were more popular so I jumped ship and went to Infinity.



My first character there was Dr Feelgoode a dark/emp Defender. Didn't get to far with him either.



Then came El-Tron. My first Elec/Elec Blaster. HE was the first character that really made me feel like a HERO.





I'm ashamed to say that I left him on Infinity at about level 14. The teaming opportunities weren't great, it took me a long time to get to 14. I read in the forums that Freedom was the most highly popular server so I jumped ship and landed there. Made my first, and ONLY, female character, Healina. Guess what AT she was? She's the one in the middle.



My first 50 was on Freedom, took me a while, but this was the character that defined my CoX "life" or "persona" if you will. SkyRocker v.BL (Version BLaster) was supposed to represent SkyRocker a hero who was more or less immortal and could change his powersets to fit whatever situation he found himself in. Of course he had to choose what powerset at the beginning of the night's activities, couldn't change in the middle of a fight, etc. I ended up with SkyRocker v.PB, SkyRocker v.WS, SkyRocker v.TK and so on. But by the time I hit 50 with v.BL I had pretty much migrated to Virtue and spent the next 6 years there.

I don't have mine, but he was spines regen, had crazy red hair and was called, "Your Angry Uncle." I had macros for cliched quotes about problems with youth nowadays that I'd click from time to time.

My first character was my namesake, Aipaloovik, an Ice/Storm Controller. Created right after launch back in 2004, he's still level 28 and I was very excited to have him back with the launch of freedom.



My first 50 Atshen, a DM/Regen scrapper. I believe I created him in May or June of 2004. I didn't save his original costume, because I was too excited when capes were finally unlocked. Next to him is a recreation of my 2nd 50, Vindictive Wife, a Dark/Dark Defender (in lore, Atshen's wife). On the left is the a more recent addition, my son's first 50, Axing Questions, Axe/Willpower brute.

I still have Hyper's original costume on here. The only non-original parts are the aura (basically a light sparkle around the eyes) and the cape.

You can see most of his other costumes here. His "main" costume became #5 about 2 years ago.

I actually have a couple slots I never used because a lot of stuff just doesn't fit him right and clips horribly.

My first character ever didn't last a minute in Outbreak. Looked cool in the character creator, but I deleted him as soon as I saw him in the real world.

So I'm presenting the first one to actually escape the tutorial. Dash Marlowe, a '40s era private eye who had been tapped by the FBI to help ferret out German elements in Paragon City while all the heroes were busy abroad. Stumbled into some Manhattan Project-like thing, and didn't wake up until 65 years later.

Didn't actually play him much, as I couldn't settle on a powerset combo for the longest time - and by the time I did (SJ / WP), I was kind of bored of scrappers. Anyway, here's an approximation of how he originally looked (left), and how he looks now...



Granted, not terribly original, but that was kind of the point.

This is Kobolt (elec/elec blaster) my very first character... made him in the beta and brought him to the Guardian server when CoH went live. He is still there stuck at lvl 33 but the name went on and on and on (several servers and ATs)...he was my very first Villian (ice/cold Corr.) too when CoV went live...that was on Virtue but yeah...



...he was "Big Blue" (ok maybe only in my mind lol) with the old friends I had on Guardian server way back when!!!

Kelly Ann Powers grew up wanting to be a fighter pilot like her father, but her admission application to the USAF Academy was rejected. After graduating high school she was taking flying lessons and her fiery crash landing was caught on video. The flight instructor was sent to the hospital with severe burns while Kelly was unhurt.

The video caught the attention of a fashion magazine editor which started Kelly's career as a fashion model. Her swimsuit calender was a big hit and put her on the verge of supermodel status. But her manifesting mutant powers convinced her of her true destiny to help fight the rising evil. She joined a superhero team in Miami and after they disbanded came to Paragon City.

When not fighting the bad guys, Kelly attends classes at the prestigious Nebula University majoring in International Law.

First character and main character, originally from Protector: Night-Hawk (now Knight'Hawk on Freedom).



Created June 2007, the first costume is an approximation as I only had it on him for about a week or so before moving on to the 2nd costume (minus the rocket boots; didn't get those for another couple years). That 3rd costume came after the I17(?) doppelganger arcs after the first one was "destroyed" when that building explodes at the end of the second part. And finally that last costume was made here on the forums in the "costume re-design" thread by Fennec (along with some armored variants).

He's always been a MA/SR Scrapper, though after StJ came out I considered re-rolling him as a StJ/WP Scrapper as that would probably be far more accurate (he's what I think I would be if I were a hero, and I have zero martial arts training, though I do have good reflexes ). Obviously now, there'd be no point, but in the end I probably wouldn't have done it anyway.

Even after the servers go dark, be that 3 months or 3 years, you will find him occasionally helping out in Millennium City and Gotham City. Not ready to hang up the cape just yet.

One of my oldest still (somewhat) active characters and my forum namesake. Created in June 2004 and named "Not Rhino" just prior to the whole Marvel lawsuit thing. Didn't expect to play him as it was mostly a joke, but I ended up really enjoying Inv/SS tanking. Kept that name for quite a while too until someone reported me and he got generic'd, renamed him Ceros, then transferred from Infinity to Virtue with the name Rhino Rampage. Now level 50 and has all the anniversary badges even though he's not my main.
