I've never been able to participate in one of these events, and the time I did, they leave and never come back. 
I'm not angry, I just want a red explain what actually happened. I don't know if it _was_ network issues. They could have just wanted to leave, and never come back. I want to know what happened.
To be clear, this is not me asking for the aura. I probably wasn't going to win anyway. :P

I am just really disappointed, I guess. I've never been let down by the devs before, and I kind of want to keep that streak. Maybe someone spilled coffee on the router at their office, I don't know. I don't like the sense of incompleteness this situation has.

And here it is! Turns out they were having some network issues at Paragon Studios. If only they'd told us that up front.
Also, Hit Streak is going to be in Pocket D again, distributing titles and codes, at 4pm (Pacific) today to make up for it.

It was a little confusing that they said they'd be back. It was probably a little confusing on their end with multiple servers having multiple copies of pocket D going.
That's cool they are gonna take care of folks. kudos to all involved.
