Memorial Hamidon Raid for lucas this Friday (Aug 24th)
That was an awesome turnout for Lucas, thanks Justice for the awesome community you are. Lucas still lives in our memories of him.
Also want to thank Zwillinger for helping to make it memorable with Kronos and to the devs.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

This was a wonderful gathering and alot of people I have not seen in a long time. This was a great way to pay respects to Lucas. After the vigil we went to Warburg. Alot of fun and alot of memories. I really miss those nights. Thanks everyone.
Hey folks,
Last night was a blast and sorry it took so long for me to get these up but I just didn't get time to finish before bed last night.
I've created a page on the new w00t Radio website (which I haven't really told anyone about yet) with a bunch of screenshots I took last night. The page is setup so anyone who wishes to can add screenshots from the event or that feature Lucas. So feel free to do so.

Hope we don't have to get together for this kind of reason again anytime soon..

It was good to see everyone again and share our memories. I've uploaded my album of the event, hopefully the player tags remain in the photos after uploading them:

I thought this was a lot of fun, despite it being held for a sad reason. It was a great celebration of someone we will miss, even if some only knew him in passing.
As expected, as there were too many to fit in a single instance of the Hive, we had two raids. Since there weren't enough people to start them simultaneously, they were basically back-to-back. The initial Hive completed its raid first, and completed it at a fairly typical pace for Justice Hami raids. I suspect it got the bulk of "regulars", with attendant tricked-out characters and folks so familiar with the modern raid they could do it in their sleep. (Some probably dream about attending it.)
Raid 2 was a bit more sedate in pace, both in forming and in execution. I think because it was more heavily composed of folks who weren't as familiar with the modern raid, who weren't as tricked out (due to long absence, lack of access to their goodies, etc.), or both. In practice, while some stuff went "wrong", the raid really went fine. It just had a bit more chaos.
As a regular at Hami raids, I found the 2nd raid very enjoyable. Don't get me wrong - my personality is such that I love seeing how fast we can plow content to get to the shiny at the end, but that wasn't the point last night. This was about community and communal activity with people we haven't seen in a long time. Taking a bit longer and having to work maybe a little more vigorously to complete the task at hand (while still completing it quite successfully) felt right for more of a bonding experience.
I really want to thank the CoH Community team, and Zwillinger specifically, for taking part in this. Showing up in the form of the Titan was not only a great work-around for not being able to spawn him usefully in the Hive, it was, in my opinion, more effective by a huge amount. Zwil acted hilariously, and at one point channeled Lucas' AFK-ranger behavior, which I thought was fantastically awesome. He also helped with the raids, which probably didn't make that huge of a difference, but was damn cool looking.
I like to think that Lucas would have really enjoyed what we did last night. I hope he got a laugh out of it, wherever he is now.

I wanted to thank everyone who came and participated in the back to back Hammy raids, complete with noob-holding Kronos, the memorial in Pocket D, and the PvPing afterwards in Warburg. Special thanks to Fanny (Diana Andrews) for organizing and to Zwillinger for making an appearance as Kronos.
Hug your kids, call your mom, kiss your partner. Do it now. We have now, but we don't know whether we'll have a chance later.
Goodbye my virtual brother. You were a glorious *******.

From Mrs. Lucas:
I can hardly express how grateful I am for everyone's attendance at this raid for Lucas (Eric). It was so good of you all to take the time to remember him this way. Your kindness and compassion mean a great deal to us. I know that Lucas would be amazed that all of the kind words. He loved playing COH and he enjoyed the friendships he made in game. Warmest Regards, Mrs. Lucas and the little Lu's |

It was wonderful seeing all the Justice classics and greats turn out for Lucas' memorial Hami raid. Tho' the reason for the occasion was sad, I think it really shows how we are a community in how we react to the loss of an old friend.
Thank you, Zwillinger for showing up and playing the part. Thank you, Justice players for making the event a wonderful, enjoyable and bittersweet gathering.

Friendly, helpful and surprisingly light on the drama.

Without any more tear shed than possible let me say thank you to all involved. I have spent a great many years of my life enjoying the pleasure of online friends without truly appreciating how amazing they are in our lives. Lu had more affect on me than most could ever dream of. So many day spent in the early morning hours in rv on freedom disguising nothing and everything.
We would roll the zone one way and then switch and roll it the other. We would grief each other in global channels in every way from raid to pvp. Lu would grief me so hard about pling that I eventually switched my second account name to Con doesn't Pl. He would heal me in the early morning hours and sometimes afk to spend time with his family to come back and say "did I miss something".
In the end let me share one thought of lucas that carries true through all my life. The people who matter will entertain you the rest will just fade away. Lucas until the end of my time will always be one of the ones who matters. One of the ones who cared.
Lu as well as several of my convenient friends have helped served and shape justice as well as coh over the years. Without truly great people there is not truly great accomplishments. The world is a sadder place without you my friend but a far worse place without you.
You will be missed Lucas. You will be loved. Peaces my friend.
<3 con.
Duel me.
I will work on my sig pic more when I have time.
Was a great turnout.
A special thanks to Z for showing up as KRONOS TITAN.
