Updated Shield/Stone Build - Feedback Apprectiated
+5'd some Rechg IOs, got slots back, moved slots about, kept def, added +hp and gave you even more rechg. I didn't really look at it I just spent 5 mins on it but you would have to look at the figures rather than slotting.

Thank you. That is very helpful. It's a little more expensive than my build, but that Gladiator one is only about a billion, which I'll be able to afford with how easily this toon farms. It definitely opens up a lot of options for me, and recharge is a great place to go with it.

Heh, yep, I have been away a while. The low level Gladiators are a billion on my server, though I guess I could pick up a level 50 for 300 million or so. Still, it's worth it. I'll just set up some farm toons with stealth and run some extra missions.
I've had a look over the build you suggested, and I have a few comments:
I really like what you've done with Seismic Smash. It hadn't even occurred to me to slot it for hold first, but it makes a lot of sense. My only concern is that I lose some recharge on Seismic Smash itself.
I also like the idea of the tanker IOs going into Tremor. It's my main source of AoE damage when soloing, so the extra recharge there is great.
The way it's set up, you could two-slot Weave and keep defense capped. Then the Gladiator enhancement could move to Toughness, another defense can go in Deflection, and I could slot Stone Fist with another CI set, giving me an extra 5% recharge at no cost to defense. In the long run, it allows me to put an Armageddon in Shield Charge, which I can't do otherwise (though I'd need to swap the ToD back in for that).
I also put a range in Fault. It's my main way of picking up stray packs, so the range really helps there. I don't really need the recharge proc.
My soul recoils in horror at the idea of six-slotting Taunt like that, though I see what you're doing, as there may not be any better place for the slots. I'll have to think about it. My intuition is to put the third defense back into Weave and then find something else to do with the slots.

I don't like rules so I never change a build into something I feel is the only way to go. If several people put a Shield/Stone build up my Shield/Stone suggestion would change for each person. I only spend 5 mins. I don't try to make things "what I would have". It's upto you to decide if there is anything you like and want to keep. Your change in slotting might of caused a decrease in hp but it's upto you what you would give one thing for another.
I can well understand range in Fault. With taunt if you forget the set bonuses I tend to look for a 10:1 taunt:rechg ratio, as a minimum which is down to my experience. I tend not to care who is in team. I tend to do PuGs. I tend to look for ways around problems rather than quake in my boots over the team missing this, that and the other. The build is not something that has to be either dead right or it can't be played.

I'm coming back to the game after a few years, and my build is a little out of date. Fitness wasn't innate at the time

This is a new version of my old build, that I'm thinking of respeccing into. My goals here are capped defense (44.9% AoE but oh well), endless fighting and solid damage. I want S/L capped resistance with One with the Shield Up. I play a lot like a scranker, and like to give some lumps. Any advice would be very appreciated:
