Empathy/Energy

Is there any use in having an Empathy/Energy Defender anymore, I have that as my main and it seems like nobody wants an Emp/def anymore. Any thoughts on this?

Mine is level 25 & never has problems getting teams.

I much prefer him to my higher level emp/elec because the blast set makes him feel useful & fun in between buffing and throwing out the occasional heal.

I've never had difficulty getting a group with my empathy/archery defender. Just watch the channels or start your own group!

Lol the ironic thing is that that thought had crossed my mind. Is there an advantage to doing the monthly signature story arcs?

Do people really ask what sort of Defender you are before letting you on to a team?
I have three Defenders (Dark/Dark, Empathy/Energy, FF/Beam) and I can't remember that last time someone cared to ask me what powersets I had. When I have trouble finding teams it's because of low population at night, not because of my powersets.

I enjoy the signature story arcs, and they are worth hero/villain merits, which are worth having.

Signature story arcs are worth doing not only for the great stories they offer but they are a great way to accumulate some alignment merits. Your first time doing them you can pick and alignment merit (so long as your alignment is confirmed). And you can get one alignment merit per week by doing any of the signature story arcs after the initial run.

What I like to do is wait until lvl 20 before touching the SSA's, confirm my alignment, and then start doing them as my level allows. It breaks up the standard missions and allows that character to start building a bank of merits. I will often do enough runs for the week to get the "first time" reward (alignment merit) and then do additional runs to get weekly alignment merit and the weekly reward merits x4. This stocks that character up during the level process so when I am ready to delve into IOing that character out I don't have to spend out of pocket. I can get the expensive stuff with merits.
