I have a kin/elec control controller and need help with build. My controller takes a lot of damage and has very weak offensive powers. I would like some advice from someone with this build and how to make him stronger. I have equipped him with archtype IOs rebuilt his stam/health , buffed up all his attacks with IO enhances all to no avail even with incarnate powers unlocked

Howdy, since you're a VIP (judging by gold name), you can post in the Builds subforum and also the Controller subforum. You'll get more directed responses there. Someone will probably be along to give general assistance, but it's always better to go to 'the source'. Good luck!

With out knowing how your powers are slotted or for that matter what powers you have selected it is very difficult to give you an answer as to how to improve your build.

At http://www.cohplanner.com/ you can get a hold of a program most of us know its called Mid's Hero Designer it works just like the in game enhancement screen basically allowing you to see the stats of your alt with real numbers, using this as a tool you can post the build your alt is using atm and we will be able to give far better insights into any problems.

For controllers Elec/Kin is fairly good mix of tools, You said you have incarnates unlocked so i'm going to take a blind stab and say your post lvl 38 and have Fulcrum shift

The best option for any /Kin is to apply some sort of group control, in the case of elec that would be an aoe hold or its well known sleep patch, then move into melee range and fire off the Fulcrum this should all but DMG cap you, I recommend taking an AoE dmg power in your epic power pools to aid in clearing spawns but for the most part that is the only tactic you need to know.

There is but one truth. Time is limited. ndnw its over

General advice for controllers:

- NEVER start off with the AOE immob, that will get you killed! Especially if you're in plain sight. If you must use the AOE immob as a starter, always do it while you're behind a corner and then let someone else go in first to take the alpha strike.
- ALWAYS start with something that will immediately incapacitate as many in the spawn group as possible. In your case, the sleep patch Static Field or the AOE hold Paralyzing Blast. In a pinch, Jolting Chain is ok too.
- after the spawn group has been put out of action, then you can approach and do your other stuff (AOE immob, debuffs, heals, etc.)
- double immob the boss so he doesn't bother you.

Oh, and since you are Electric control, make sure you have your Conductive Aura on. It cost no endurance to have on and it will sap the endurance of every enemy around you while refilling your own endurance. Of course, you need to stay in melee for this to work, but you should be safe. Used in conjunction with Static Field, you should have everyone around you drained in a few seconds (after you've slotted them out). And because Kinetics is a melee set too, this combo has good synergy. Once you've practiced a bit, you will not have to worry about getting hurt.

Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

Shouldn't that be Elec/Kin for a controller? I'm honestly unsure, I don't play many controllers.

As I understand it, Ranged Defense is best for squishies. *All* defense is best for squishies, actually, but Ranged Defense is what you can reasonably achieve.

Adding to Stam/Health doesn't help much if you are getting clobbered. Look into IO sets that give Ranged Defense. You want at least bare minimum 20%, and if you can soft cap (45%) that's the best. Being within one small Luck inspiration of the soft cap (30%, I think) is pretty good.

The other way of increasing survivability is to go find a tank and hide behind them. Teaming works.

We will need to see a build to give you any decent advice. Mids is best, but if you can just type it all in by hand we will at least look at it.
