Mech ArcheType
Long ago, before the dark times.... there was a (long, long-lived) thread for a Mecha EAT. Rather wish the author would re-post it. (It really has been gone for years, lost in a forum purge.)
The only problem I have with it is it is VERY limiting on concept.
Kheldians and Arachnos are limiting too, so there is precedent. But I for one feel that the game does not need more ATs that dictate to you what your character is.

Weren't you the author of that awesome thread?
Anyway I think using the combination of Branching Powersets and the Build slots we have, might be a good approach. Unfortuantely I don't think there is a way to work around the costume issues Branches+Build Slots currently have.
Nope. Mistformsquirrel.
In the same vein, I would love to see a Praetorian Clockwork/Warwork EAT.
A brand new archetype idea, for those that crave more than the costume set.
Premise:
Similar style of play to Warshades/Peacebringers. Instead of forms, it's weapon load-outs. (Think Strike Gundam from anime, Gundam Seed.)
One form/load-out could be heavily melee oriented. Additional armor plates, dual wielding or titan-esque two-handers.
The opposite form/load-out could be all-out artillery. C.I.W.S.(Close-In Weapon Systems), arm-mounted mini-guns/turrets, etc.
There could also be a hybrid form or default that is a lighter, balanced setup.
Suggestions/Thoughts:
While it does recycle the concept and gameplay of the HEATs, it would feel fresh enough and aesthetically pleasing.
It might be able to recycle pre-existing code for a faster development time. This is purely speculation on my part, as I have no background history in this sort of field.
Closing comments:
I'd like to thank those who took the time to read this suggestion, and the developers for giving us an already great game.
I'm aware there is some skepticism to this idea. "Just use a normal AT/power set and the Mecha costume set." "We need new ATs, not mash-ups of old ones."
While what's said is true, I feel that revisiting these old mechanics and EATs would be a worthwhile venture, simply due to the game being short on this kind of play-style. Take it as you will. And I respect your difference of opinion.
(I also would like to apologize in advance; if someone has already mentioned this idea, and it looks to them like I'm stealing it. Be it directly or in essence. This is not intentional, I may have missed seeing your threads.)
