Foot Stomp Animation Questions - Why Foot Stomp or Ground Punch

Hello Brute Forum,

I have a few questions about the Foot Stomp animation/s. I know this has been discussed in the forum in the past, but as much as I have searched, I cannot find the answers. I hope someone could shed some light, for me.

1. Why does the Brute Foot Stomp power have different animations? i.e. some Brutes punch the ground where others have the more traditional actual foot stomp crunching the ground.

2. Is that animation something that is totally random, when you roll the brute toon, or can it be chosen?

My reason for asking is that I have a build in mind, with a theme, and would like the ground punch but don't want to waste time with the build if it is totally random.

Thanks in advance for any help.

There's a choice between these two animations in the character creation (or tailor) screen, it will only play the one you have chosen. Go crazy.

Thank You Nihilii for the help. Much appreciated.

Also, if you have the multiple costume slots, you can change the power animations for each different costume. This adds an even bigger variety of animations, especially for Super Strength, which has a good mix of animations to begin with.

Some of the powersets in the game, particularly the older ones, have multiple animations for some of the powers in the set.

You can pick them in the costume designer on the same screen you pick the colors for the powers. There are drop down lists on the powers themselves.

Note that even for many powers that don't have a different _animation_, you still need to pick a different _tinting_ option to color the powers using the same drop down.

Super Strength and Martial Arts in particular have significant variation in their animations.

Personally I prefer the ground punch to the dainty little foot tap for Foot Stomp; it just looks more superheroic to me.

Enjoy!

And I like the 2 handed uppercut version of KO Blow, especially with a shield.

I always mentally catch my self saying, "To the Moon Alice. . .too the Moon!"

Corralary question; are teh two animation times identical? It's likely my imagination, but I use the ground punch one and it 'feels' slower than the foot stomp one, but I couldn't say for sure.

Alternate animations are purely aesthetic and are designed to have the same animation time as the original power.

Goodbye. Not to the game, but the players. Goodbye. Everyone, remember to have fun. That's all I can say.

Makes sense. I was pretty sure I was just crazy. Thanks for certifying that

It's so awesome with the shield. The ground punch feels weak compared to foot stomp though, this is why I'm glad the devs gives us these choices.
