Ive never posted a build. let alone post very much at all, im a bit of a lurker i suppose.

but I just dusted off my old dominators to take a break from my scraps/brutes.

my highest is only 37 atm. after a respec, i feel a new excitement for the AT like never before. earth hits like a....big pile of rocks.

so anyway, im loving dominators right now. I DO NOT have much experience at doing builds for them. so im hear for some critique.


goals:
perma dom obviously
very adequate recovery/endurance use.
soft cap s/l if thats viable for a dom(not sure about this one)
some sort of -res power to help leverage more damage.(not sure if i should go sleet or poisonous ray here)

question, does poisonous ray stack with itself?

My Elec/Earth dom is one of my favorites, and when incarnated out is extremely strong. I took my build and modified it a bit to get closer to S/L soft cap. One thing I will note, personally, I think getting to the soft cap is not as important here because you have Power Boost. When it's on (which is about 50% of the time, and most importantly it should be used just before you jump into the middle of a spawn), you'll be close to the incarnate soft cap for S/L.

As for endurance usage, I find that you can burn through your bar just about as fast as domination recharges. Sometimes, I have to either eat a blue, or let up on the attacks just before domination hits in order to keep from bottoming out.

Hopefully this can give you some ideas.

Yeah, I definitely like Musculature for this guy. However, I created it before all the new alphas came out, so Agility or Intuition look like they could work as well.

Also, one other thing, I don't think you want the heal proc in Jolting Chain. It will only have a chance to go off on the first target. After that, it might have a chance to go off on the enemies. (Don't know about that though) In any case, the Devastation: Chance to Hold proc or a damage proc is much better here.

Actually the only reason I put those in there was because entropic chaos was dirt cheap compared to decimation, but gave me the same recharge bonus.

Just thought I would give an update...


I hit 50, filled out the build. and its GREAT!

last night a friend and I decided to duo the ITF. my elec/earth dom and his beam/time corrupter.



this is what i finally decided to run with,

about the only thing im considering changing is the last slot in fissure, I didnt know how the endurance would be. but now i realize i dont need that there. so i could put it elsewhere for a damage proc in one of the mallets. or possibly swap hibernate for hoarfrost and 3 slot that. Im not sure if the heal would be up often enough to justify it though.

I know the thread is a bit stale, but I've also recently resurrected my Elec/Earth/Ice dom and given him perma-hasten/dom.

I was wondering, would it be more beneficial to have Hoarfrost perma and run around with 1500 HP, or have Frozen Armor and half the time be at 33% S/L defense? I'm thinking Hoarfrost, but I thought I'd get some input before finalizing the build.

I don't think hoarfrost can be made perma on Doms. With reactive you can probably get close. Hoarfrost would likely be a good choice to bolster your defenses. But if it's a choice of hoarfrost Vs frozen armor...I'd say frozen armor all the way. If you can work in both, and pile on the defense, you'd be pretty good.
