Need a build for pvp

I'm looking to start playing PVP in zones such as RV and need a build in order to learn on. I'm open to suggestions. I've heard regen is good. However as I have no experience in PVP I'm open to any suggestions. If any good pvp'er is out there and could post a Mids build, I would appreciate it. I'm willing to trade influence for the right build. Looking for high resistance along with high damage. Once again I'm brand new to PVP so any help is appreciated.

You are stuck in a trade off high res and high dmg do not go hand in hand. Blasters do sick dmg but are squishy. Tanks and brutes are meat sheilds but don't eat HP like ranged dmg.

Decide how you want to play, ranged or melee, support or dmg?

Probably the easiest to learn on is a stalker if you build it right and get the stealth io for max stealth. You do high dmg, and can not been seen when you are fully stealthed so you can observe and pick and choose your battles.

A blaster can be easy to pvp with but without a team you can get overwhelmed easy if there are more than a few on the other side and they are organized.

Fun toons are things like disruption, ta, storm for example you are debuffing and grounding etc.

Then there is support, rarely played these days with all the incarnate buffs but a good team toon - a pain dom or emp can make and okay team look great and a great team unbeatable.

Decide how you want to play, and start from there.

My build suggestions for a new player would be a blaster, with powersets from the following...

Any of the Blaster Primaries listed

-Dark
-Fire
-Psi
-Rad
-Sonic
-Ice

Any of the Blaster Secondaries listed

-Energy Manipulation
-Device
-Mental

That's also in a specific order, from easiest to hardest IMO. Ice wouldn't be that bad paired with EM, but it would be pretty bad if paired with /Mental for example. I also wouldn't try /Mental unless you went with Dark/, Fire/, or Psi/.

Not to mention, without being able to tell which builds are good or bad, offering to pay is basically giving money to anyone with a copy of mids, and it attracts the wrong crowd. PMing a specific person ingame for help shows enough initiative that they'll probably give you a lot more help than you'd get here. (I don't mean me, I'm busy for a while)
