Energy Melee/Regen build

Hello all. I am new to City of heroes (been playing a little over a week) and I been really loving it. I started with Energy melee/regeneration build (and later found out how much people dislike that) but I still really love it. I been playing with mids since I discovered it, and been trying out all sorts of builds. After lots of work, I came up with this one. However I am not experienced enough to know how good this build is, so I thought I would submit it for critique. Anyone have useful pointers/insight on what I should do/change? (to be honest, I tried a few builds, and this is working the best by far so far, even though its not complete yet...think the other builds are only effective when I hit level 50...)

Edit: btw, I don't like "inflated" bonuses people sometimes post in builds, so I turned off some things even if I can perma them (like dull pain) if you want to see the max stats, you need to toggle them on (hasten, dull pain, spiritual radial paragon, etc.)

Hello, and Welcome!

EM gets a bad rap because of slow animations and a dearth of AoE attacks. If you like it, play it!

Made some changes based on overslotting, and trying to get you as much +defense bonus as possible. Also swapped out energy punch for darkest night. Use it, and you'll see why: if you can delay your 'SMASH' for a few seconds in order to drop it on a boss, you can floor the whole group's ability to hit you (esp. with decent defense).

Thank you for the welcome ^_^
it is a bit slow, but since I don't know anything else, it really doesn't bother me, also I like how it stuns groups easy, it keeps them stunned for awhile with no added enhancements~ the combo I use is barrage> energy punch>bone smash> WH/ET (which ever is needed more atm)
with your build it becomes barrage>bone smash> darkest night> WH/ET? Also why eradication on WH instead of Armageddon? (not that I'm complaining, that set is going to totally break me to get)

Darkest Night is a toggle power, not an attack. It's not part of an attack chain.

Eradication gives: E/N defense and max HP (which will help you get closer to the HP cap when Dull Pain is up)

Ahhhh okay, thanks~ also I ran into a snag. Because I am a hero, I couldn't take the gloom power. So I was debating on giving up the epic power pool, and instead taking my four extra slots and slotting two into build up for recticle and two into health (miracle heal/+recovery) revive kinda feels like a bit of a waste since I don't plan on dying often, but the power pool I have a choice of also seems like a waste. (I debated the accuracy from energy mastery, but it eats so much endurance, its not worth it)

You will have to change alignment and run the Ghost Widow Patron arc...(5-6 missions) to get Gloom...but you really should it is good.
