1. As long as you have actively purchased, or actively claimed, a reward, you will keep it. Things that are "free to VIP" will be lost unless you purchase them.
2. If you were given character slots, e.g. vet rewards/I12, you will keep those. However, if they're already assigned to a server, you cannot move them.

So, if I currently have 2 extra slots on Freedom, I would have those 2 extra slots, plus the 2 default character slots you get with the free account? Like, I'd have 4 total slots available, but 2 would be tied to Freedom?
I'm trying to figure out how many total character slots I'd have if I downgraded.
I think that is correct that the slots would stay on Freedom, as that was where you put them originally.

It's important to be clear on this. Assuming you claimed 2 slots on the Freedom server while VIP, those would now be termed "server" slots. Those will only be usable on Freedom when you downgrade. The 2 "default slots confused me too, so again important to be clear. The "default" slots are part of the "global" slot allotment. In short, the "default" slots are already present on your VIP account as available "global" slots.
If you have no global slots showing on your VIP, then you have already allocated your "default" slots as "server" slots. Sorry if this was bad news.

1. Would still keep my Ninja Run, Sands of Mu, and all that kind of stuff? Based on what I've read, that's the way I'm understanding it. Correct?
2. About the character slots... I never purchased any extras, but from time to time, I would be given an extra slot. For example, while all the servers have the 12 default open slots, there are a few where I've unlocked 1 or 2 more slots, but not by purchase. I guess those came with some kind of time-based rewards of some sort or something like that. Would I keep those?
