Hybrid Assault or Melee

I was just wondering which way to go for my tri-form pb when it's ready I haven't unlocked the slot but have enough parts to make the first tier of both powers and go higher. I might one day make both and switch them out as I please, But with so many people doing nothing but farming the trial for hybrid exp and putting most trial running in a sharp decline ( on my server I'm sure this will eventually change) I'm not sure when I'll be able to get the parts to make both of them so I decided to focus on one which I believe i can maybe get to tier 3 or 4 just not sure which

Ultimately the decision is yours to make...I will be going Assault for my PB as more damage is something from which she could greatly benefit.

Having the same issue with my tri-form WS. I have enough salvage to build a T4, but only one. A lot of the trials don't have a lot of eclipse food, so Melee looks nice and a regen bonus. But, how is more damage ever not wanted. So I dither.

Depends on what you need. Are you survivable enough already? Assault is for you. Hitting the damage cap already? Go for the strike again ability rather than the +damage. If you do more than enough damage already, go for Melee. Support is also a good candidate if you plan to team or Trial a lot. You get some more survivability and damage capability, as do your teammates. Control would not be helpful for a Peacebringer, since you don't have enough mez to build on that.

Assess how you want to play your Peacebringer and go from there. I'll have to debate between Assault and Support on mine, I think. He's more than survivable enough already and will mainly play in team content.

Bear in mind that damage capping as a PB is awfully easy. Kheldians still have a 400% damage cap.

100% base
~95% enhancements
72% inner light
~32% Alpha musculature
---------
299%

That only leaves ~100% left for other buffs pre-cap, including cosmic balance. Now, if you get a few stacks of cosmic balance at +20%, and then, say, an accelerate meta (or assault, or, or), you're hitting the cap. Never mind something like Fulcrum Shift.

Assault for when I need my damage output to increase and melee mostly for the taunt aura.

This is the exact question I have on my Warshade - the slot is open but what to build?

How can you tell if your WS is bumping up against the damage cap?

Concept-wise, I like Melee, as I am getting my bonuses by feeding off my nearest opponents. With Eclipse, I'm usually capped with resistance, so the Defense branch looks cool and not getting hit at all appeals to Warshades. I usually have pretty good survivability due to perma-Eclipse and Clarion, but things go badly if there is a -Res component to the attack. I also love the taunt as I need more bodies near me! Defense and +DMG I can get from purples or reds, but I can't get taunt anywhere else without spending a power. (Well other than using Orbiting Death.)

On the other hand, Assault sounds great too - a Warshade with more damage is surely a good thing, and that is my weaker spot right now. I can easily handle +2 x8, but much higher in level and enough survive my initial attack chain that things get dicey. +3x8 is fun but I have to be on the ball. +4x8 is a recipe for occasional face-plants. If I defeat them faster, I can see that going better.

Hmm, I think I will hit the beta server and try out both...decisions, decisions!

I made the Teir 3 Damage hybrid and played around

randomly it would add 50% extra damage
plus another 10% of other damage randomly, plus the 7.5 perma damage bonus

I will definately be upping this to the T4
so this happens more often and more powerfully

hitting 10 targets with my AOE chain will trigger that freq
when farming this will speed up the boss kills alot

Ooh... I had forgotten about the taunt aura. And it add defense and regeneration. Tough choice between that and more damage but I feel compelled to try the taunt aura.
