Hybrid Melee on Ice/Ice Dom? Maybe? Perhaps?

Yeah, I would rate it as a good idea, depending on how much def and res you have currently. If I remember correctly, /Ice doms get Power Boost, which buffs +def bonuses but not +res bonuses. So you are probably better off building for def.
I really should do something about this signature.
Only problem is that the radius is 10ft. I'd actually go for control because Arctic Air will activate containment and be granted +1 mez so the confuse lasts longer and can affect harder enemies.
My Ice/Ice (yeah I know) quasi-perma (with incarnates) Dom ends up in melee range ALOT. (I have several Ice Sword attacks and my AoE Hold is PBAoE) My IO Sets are slanted towards +RCH and I was thinking about taking Melee as my Hybrid. So I have two questions...
1. Is this even a good idea?
2. If it is a good idea, do I take the resistance (core) or defense (radial).
C. Has anyone looked at what kinda levels their defense gets up to while fighting with hybrid melee running? is it 20%? 30%? 40%?
