Anyone else catch the first part tonight? It was a bit slow to start, but dang if it isn't enthralling.

Yeah it was pretty good, I didn't think they started off as friends though, maybe they did that to make the family feud more interesting.

I really wanted to like this but I have to admit it, the first hour kind of bored me and lost me. I ended up channel surfing during the second hour.

You should. It's a pretty good show. The first hour of the first episode was kinda slow, but it's picking up pretty nicely. Yes, there's probably a good amount of dramatic license, but the whole situation was messed up. I find something deeply wrong about a deserter (true or not? I don't know, but he was that in the show) passing frontier justice on others.

Given the whole situation presented by the show, I'd easily side with the McCoys.

Yeah I like the show, looking foward to the conclusin tonight and might try to buy the dvd. I would also side with the McCoys on this if everything in this movie was true, they just made the Hatfields look like jerks, ah dramatic license at it's best.

I think the vast majority of the feud stemmed from two people...Jim Vance and that lawyer. If Anse and Randall had done something about them, the thing would've been over before it got to the point of bounties.

There's two people on the Hatfield side that were sympathetic...Cottontop and Jonsey. Cotton should never have been taken on the two things. Jonsey said it pretty well when he said he didn't know how to hate like a Hatfield.

But it's pretty galling that Anse tries to be the bigger man. After everything that Randall has suffered from Anse.

I think the entire story of the Hatfields and McCoys is a warning about the dangers of pride and what it can do to people.

Yeah I wonder if Randall did go a little nuts in the end in real life. The one thing I wish they would of done is when at the end when they are doing the what happened to them with the pictures instead of using the actors photos they could have put up photos of the real people, that is if they could find any, that would of been interesting.
