Ready to IO my crab

So I'm very near to being level 50 on my crab (one too many ITF's) and I've been scouring through this thread looking for builds that could help me decide on my own. I don't have ready access to Mids on my Mac which has been an obstacle.

It seems that many of the builds are focused on expensive IO's that I cannot afford. I'm looking to have a build with all three pet powers with either a melee/ranged hybrid or full ranged. Is it feasible for me to have a good build without losing every penny I have? What suggestions do you have?

Had a play around got a hovercrab with 3 permapets, barely, and 40% ranged defence. Any more recharge, the def suffered. Any more def and the recharge suffered.

Give me a budget, and Ill see if I can do it with Incarnate stuff. But I think you need to be willing to get some purples on these builds.

You have to sacrifice something:

  • Price
  • 1 Pet
  • Perma Pets
  • Ranged Defense.
  • Recharge
  • Medicine Pool
  • Immobilize
Perhaps more than 1 something. You can barely get all those things top end build. If you put medicine pool on the list, then you can't get them all no matter the cost.

I would suggest prioritizing, then we could probably help you more.

The criteria you have listed are actually very easy to meet:
- Cheap
- All three pet powers (no mention of "perma pets")
- Ranged or melee/ranged combat

I actually posted a build last year using only Single-Origin enhancements that does all these things:

Nobody else seemed to like it, but if I were flat broke and couldn't access the invention system, I'd play this crab.

I tend to think of this as a "cheap" build in the sense that it has LotG (easily obtained with merits) but no purples.

The things that Crab Spiders are really good at, right out of the box, are ranged AoE attacks, ranged defense, non-permanent pets and team buffs. If these things are the focus of your play style, you never need any expensive IOs. It's only when you start to want crazy recharge for perma-pets and all your positionals soft-capped at the same time that things get out of hand.

OK, gave it my best shot.

Got you softcapped.
Got you permapets (barely)
Got you a decent ST attack chain and double assualt/manuvers buffs.
Got you some AoE.


Downside, 1 purple set is needed. No other way to do it.
