Ability to lock costume options from random generation

Sometimes when I'm making a new character I hit random a few times to give me an idea of something that I would like to play. Only I end up with a piece like say the head or a set of colors that I liked, and the rest of it.. not so much.

The suggestion is simple in theory. All me to lock in a costume piece I like while still allowing the rest to be randomly generated. So if I get a head and leg that I like, I can use the random generator to alter the body, aura, arms and such. Or if I get a look that I like allow me to randomize the patterns and colors without destroying what I already liked about the character.

I think it will add more function to the random costume generation feature and make it more useful as an actual aid in generating a costume.

I have had exactly that experience.

Obviously I don't know the CoH code base but it seems to me that a version of this could be easily achieved (by the Devs) by enabling the individual, part-level "undo" buttons that you get when editing a costume at the tailor. At the moment you don't even get these when you load a new costume at initial character creation, possibly because your character has no baseline costume to revert to.

I guess what I'm suggesting is that whenever you click the "random" button, the current costume should become your baseline costume and if you prefer any of it's parts to the randomly generated ones then you should be able to simply click the "undo" button for that part to go back to the one you liked.
