Disconnecting powered base items?
No can do. If the base is powered, they're active. There have been numerous requests for purely decorative versions of the defense items. Maybe we'll get those some day.

I have NO idea if this works, but you could attempt to put a defense item in a control room that doesn't have any control creating items.
That shouldn't work. I have some defense items in a hallway with no control items, and they stay powered up. Granted, it isn't a control room, but it shouldn't behave any differently.
Yeah, you can put defensive items in plenty of types of rooms that don't even ACCEPT control items.

As we all know, defense items and stuff used to 'turn off' their effects over time with placing. Depending on where they were in the base, this was either an annoyance or a blessing. But now with one of the recent patches, these items like the gargoyles and dragons stay on permanently. What I want to know is if there's any way of keeping the items placed but depowering them so their effects no longer function? Some of them I'd like to leave on, but in heavy RP rooms it's a bit distracting, especially since these items were placed aesthetically in a manner where they should be turned off.
Any help would be appreciated.
