No password reset email yet

Sent in a request for a master account password reset early yesterday after got locked out. Checked my email today and I still haven't gotten anything back. I can't tell if I'm being impatient or I'm just excited to spend points on Staff. I'm not saying this in a rude sort of way but this really is the longest I've seen a MMO take with something like a password reset email. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure you're checking the right email account? The email isn't getting eaten by a spam filter? If neither of those are the problem, maybe try creating a support account. Another option would be calling the support hotline, although I don't have the info handy for that.

I don't know how much more help players can be at this point. Every email I've gotten saying 'someone has logged into your master account from 'here'' has been very fast indeed.

Although on further reflection, maybe since the account got locked, they won't be sending password change emails? A hypothetical situation: say someone hacks your email, and you kept the registration email with your master account username (as they suggest). The hacker tries to guess the password, and gets the account locked. They request a password change, which is sent to the unsecured email, and now they have access to the master account. A smarter hacker would have just changed the password from the get-go, but I'm sure there must be some 'stupid' hackers... right?

As Honbrid said, make sure you are checking the right email account and that it isn't being filtered as Spam. The email address I'd originally set up my account using is one I can't access anymore so trying to do password resets wasn't getting the email to an account I could see. I got my support email address changed but my Master Account email address was still my old address. I wasn't getting some of the emails I thought I should be getting but was getting the ones from support. That's all been corrected, but it's still something to be aware of.

If you've only had one email address you've used for anything with NCSoft and it isn't being filtered as Spam (possibly even before your mail provider passes it to you) then I'd recommend using the Support website.

From the Support site, you could use either the Ask A Question tab or the Live Help tab.

From the Support page link for Contacting Support:

Quote:

How do I contact someone in support? The following contact options are available:
  • Ask a Question:
    Available for all issues.
Click the Ask a Question tab on this website to submit a question.
  • Live Help:
    Available for l
    ogin and purchase issues only.
Click the Live Help tab on this website to chat with a live agent about a login or billing issues. Chat is available between 1:00pm and 8:00pm, Central, Monday-Friday.
In-game contact options:
  • Help Ticket:
Submit a question in the chat window using the /petition command, or click on Menu and then choose the Support option.

Since it mentions login issues under Live Help, that may be the way to go although they won't open for another 2 and a half hours.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Well, since Live Chat is open now I'd go for that if possible.

At work at the moment because I'm a bad boy, but I get a break soon so I should be able to get in contact before 5.

Is live support via instant messaging or a phone call? I'm so awkward on the phone.

From what I've seen on the support site it's a web based chat system somewhat similar to Instant Messaging systems..

I've used systems similar to this with my Satellite TV provider with great success.

It's much more instantaneous and quicker to resolve problems than going back and forth with email as it is a real-time chat.
