New to blaster so not really sure of what of I'm doing. If someone could help me with my build below it would be much appreciated. I'm open to any changes or advise. My only goal is to be as survivable as I can be while still dishing out decent damage.

A few caveats first:
No Mids access currently (so the second post was helpful in seeing what got slotted and how.)
Minimal experience with Plant personally and none with Darkness Affinity (but several using Dark Blast and Dark Miasma to high levels).

A general question for others who might know (and assuming the OP doesn't yet know). Does the Theft of Essence proc work to give +End back to the controller when slotted into Twilight's Grasp?

Seeds of Confusion is a game breaker. I suspect this needs more recharge in particular, I'd want it ED capped for +rech and to get that recharge down to 20 seconds or less if at all possible.

Howling Twilight - I'd worry about recharge first and foremost. The stun is auto hit.

Shadow Fall - never been much impressed with mez resistance bonuses in general. I'd replace the ImpSkn proc with something else. Both here and in Fire Shield I'd get the resist damage near ED first then worry about specials particularly anything involving mez resistance. Bit hard to comment further since I can't see Mids.

Haven't seen it, may have missed it but any -kb protection in the build?

You do have Tactics but especially given it's not well enhanced for +To Hit you may wish to add a Kismet 6% to the build (which is about the equal of slotting Tactics for +to hit).

Just some thoughts, mostly opinion as there are many ways to build a blaster and what works for one player may not please another...

I'd try to get my attacks ed-capped for damage.

On /mm, I like to build for softcap s/l defense and recharge, to make better use of drain psyche. However, this isn't the only way to do it; some like s/l & ranged with less recharge, or s/l/e because it's not too tough to get via scorpion shield, I've seen others go for ranged & aoe. I've done a couple blasters with 32.5% s/l/e/n backed by a resistance shield, which also seems to work well. That said, I think you're stretching it too thin to focus on all types or all three positions, you wind up not getting all that much and it tends to dominate the build. Recovery bonuses can take a backseat thanks to drain psyche, regen bonuses even more so.

Here is the one I've just made for my Dark/MM Blaster. I wanted to go /Soul for a third cone but didn't manage to get what I wanted defense wise. So, once again, I went with /Mace.

S/L softcap, a decent recharge + some heals, regen, debuffs and controls. Since I've just hit lvl 47 with him I have to begin to slot all these IOs and maybe I'll tweak a few things here and there. Incarnate wise I should go with Intuition radial: a longer hold duration for Abyssal Gaze, a few more toHit debuffs, more damage obviously, and a longer range for cones that never hurts.
