Lore Question - Going Rogue

I'm pretty relatively new to the CoX universe, and the forums, but part of what draws me into the game is the in-game writing and lore; I'm particularly fascinated by Praetoria as a whole, and what has happened there. There's a well-executed complexity that has served as the basis for my main eponymous Praetorian.
So I need to inquire.
Is there an established timeline here? There are certain things about the course of events that don't quite add up to me. At first I figured that the Hamidon Wars began and ended around the mid 20th century, due to an early use of nuclear weaponry being a driving factor, the assassination of President MacArthur, and so forth. Then Cole spent a couple of decades on his whole contingency plan, allegedly cleaning things up, bringing things up to mirrored present time.

I left it at that, until I investigated the history in First Ward - The Football Park plaque.

Quote:
Let it be known that the historical record confirms that at this location, in the year Nineteen-Hundred & Ninety-Five, Chairman Marcus Cole struck the first blow against Hamidon. Chairman Marcus Cole, ever the exemplar of leadership, stood at the van of an army of liberation dedicated to the defeat of Hamidon and the reclamation of our sovereign lands.
...1995? The heck is that? If that's when Cole fought Hamidon, then what about the time after it? Is the calendar different? Is Praetoria in the future (which may explain some of the tech)? Where do the Wars fall into place?
Am I missing something here?
I'm just curious, if all of this is redundant or if I'm thinking too much into it...

According to the official character info, there should be at least 25 years between the time Cole fought the Hamidon directly and the present. That would place it at 2020 at the earliest, and the timelines are supposed to be in sync. Even if we consider "the first blow against the Hamidon" to be some unidentified event prior to fighting the Hamidon itself, that would only push the end of the 25 years after 2020.

Just another story fail our writers pushed out. It's nothing new.

You know, if our game was in 2020, that would explain the weird brick cellphones. Retro is in.

Whoever made that plaque messed up.

The DE appeared on the scene sometime between the 1953 and 1964. It wasn't more than a couple years between then and when Cole first confronted Hamidon. So, I'm inclined to think the plaque should read 1965.
