Powerset Decision
If you want to enjoy the ride all the way through, I would recommend a set with a knockback protect toggle or passive (as opposed to none, or a click power that won't be perma), a damage aura which helps taunt late and dps early, a quick self heal, and no endurance headaches.
Electric Armor, IMHO.
For offense, electric melee will make end a non issue and has lots of novel powers like the chain attack and of course the teleport lightning strike attack. Some people don't like the animations on the core powers though. Thunder Strike is really slow to fire IIRC and might get annoying. Take a look at them in the custom powers screen and see what you think.
Well. pretty much any primary, combined with any secondary will cover your needs..., since your needs are fairly generic.
The reason I say this is simple. What I find fun, and great for teaming and soloing won't work for the next person in line, but might for others. What I like may not appeal to you. I know some who love Super Strength as a secondary, and others who can't stand the mechanic. I know some who think Dark Armor as a primary is "the cat's meow", and others who wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. You need to decide what works or sound appealing to you, because all the primaries, in combination with the secondaries will work to varying degrees.
To get a better idea of what sounds appealing to you, read as many of the threads that are in the tank forums as you can until you find something that stands out to you. Then try it. If after a bit you don't like it, try something else.

If you're okay with dropping a few bills in the cash shop, I hear lots of good things about Street Justice and it's a little more interesting to play than a usual click set.
Whats you guys insight on Invuln/Elec,Invuln/Fire and if Invuln is not great how about Willpower ?
Invulnerable is fantastic, but it's aura effect (for taunting lots of enemies around you) comes late and does no damage, it's self heal is a +max hp skill that's on an extended timer and is unreliable until you have a ton of -recharge, and your resist sources have small base amounts that don't shine until much later.
Willpower is a similar story, with health regeneration effects instead of healing.
They are the best sets, if you view your primary as an entire set at the end game, but aren't as fun -IMHO- if you view it as a path.
Of the two, I would go Invulnerable because of Unyielding. You will want your knockback protect and/or status protect up all the time and Unyielding gives you some resistance to go along with it.
ehh why is this so hard...lol all i want is a tanker that can take tons of damage with at least a decent output from level 20-25 at least to 50
They will all do that.
IMHO, just pick what you like thematically, join DFB groups, and do not level up past 8 so your stats don't adjust down. You will be 25 in an evening and have all your toys with whatever set you want.
The only one I'd warn you off of is Super Reflexes because it has no taunt aura and it's status protect is a clicky you need to perma. It's not terribly hard to make permanent, but I still don't like the format.
im liking WP or Invuln with /FireMelee or /ElecMelee or do you have a different melee choice ? ive actually changed my mind to NO Farms and instead tips, tfs and stuff like that in teams
I have a few WP tanks and a few Inv, I like WP and it works great if u build it right. Infact any build works great, I like FA as well even if it dont have a KB protection. I just put in a few KB procts and i am set. As for Ele yes it has a KB prot but u have to be on the ground for it to work. SD is also a fun set and like SR it has a clicky for for KB prot, but it is not hard to perma.
Look, we get this question all the time. The answer always comes out the same. The very toughest armor-set is Stone. The second toughest is Invulnerability or Willpower. The rest all have pluses and minuses.
The reason Everyone doesn't play Stone is that it has handicaps - reduced movement and recharge and damage. The reason Everyone doesn't play Invulnerability is that it doesn't have a Damage Aura - the aura is Taunt and Defense. The reason that Everyone doesn't play Willpower is that its aura Also doesn't do damage, plus it's weak at Taunt - instead it makes you heal faster.
However, for 'normal' content, All of the armor sets will serve. So it's more a matter of concept. Pick a couple you like and check the Guides section for in-depth information.

I've got a ElM/Invuln brute that I love to play. He just melts through minions and hoards of Lts, but his Single Target damage is pretty anemic until I got Gloom. I imagine a tank will have a similiar feel and shouldn't have too much trouble getting aggro with all the AoE in ElM. You may consider WP as a primary since the big problem is the weak taunt aura that ElM will make up for with it's AoEs triggering more and more gauntlet. It's also pretty sweet to LR into a mob and watch either your regen (WP) or Def (Invuln) numbers jump. I do that with my WP/Mace tank and Spring Attack
My Fire Melee experience is on a Scrapper and he's still below 20 so I can't say I have good advice to give on that set.
Hello all, im relatively new to Tankers.NO im not looking for a build, I was wondering what would be a good power combo for a style of play im looking for. I want to play the game it was meant to be played...Missions, Teaming, and very limited farming none if possible. I want a Tanker that can take on aggro, but also deal enough damage in case I am soloing...For better understanding i just need powersets that are playable to my liking from level 1-50
Please insert Epic powerpools and Incarnates if possible please
