Can't decide what to pair with Dark Control

Since the dawn of City of Heroes I have been waiting for a powerset to come out that really fits my namesake's original abilities. Dark Control is by far the best in the game as of I22 and I don't expect anything to ever get closer, so I am finally going to recreate Draeth, a mage who specializes in shadow manipulation, and ice magic.

But now that it's here, I can't decide what to pair with it, and it's driving me crazy.

So, forumites, if you wanted to make a Dark Control character, and your available options were:

Controller:
Secondary:
(Thematically preffered) Cold Domination, Dark Affinity
(Plausible with handwaving) Kinetics, Radiation Emission, Sonic Resonance, Thermal Radiation, Time Manipulation
Ancillary:
Ice, Mace (toggles only), Soul

Dominator:
Secondary:
(Thematically preffered) Dark Assault, Icy Assault
(Plausible with handwaving) Energy Assault, Fiery Assault, Psionic Assault
Ancillary:
Ice, Mace (toggles only), Soul

...what would you make? Why?

I'm looking for a combination that is fun to play, and synergizes well with Dark Control.

All opinions welcome and appreciated.

I24 Proc Chance = (Enhanced Recharge + Activation Time) * (Current PPM * 1.25) / 60*(1 + .75*(.15*Radius - 0.011*Radius*(360-Arc)/30))
Single Target Radius = 0. AoE Non-Cone Arc = 360.

Dark/Dark/Ice Dom is really really nice. The -to-hit debuffs from both primary and secondary stack together, and /Ice Mastery has a Def based shield. /Dark Assault is an amazing assault set for any dom, especially with its great PBAoE attack (which people are already calling "dark footstomp") and Gather Shadows, which is 75% of Power Boost plus 50% of Build Up.

I was positive I was going to make a dark/cold, and mechanically there's no reason not to. Fantastic combination in all ways. However, the dark effects look so good and the cold effects look so bad that it just wasn't going to work out. I ended up going dark/time and at this point I regret it not a whit. I feel like time is a pretty damn open set conceptually, in that time doesn't actually look like anything so the swirls you're throwing around might as well just be more dark powers. In fact, they match dark's effects quite well with the right colors. It's a very support oriented combination but then I would say that of dark/anything for a controller since dark itself lacks good damage apart from haunt. Dark assault is the polar opposite of that, yet I felt like the dom route misses out on the potential that dark control has to build up an unstoppable wall of obstacles for your foes to overcome regardless of what they are for each and every spawn.

Dark/time! It's swirly as hell.

My original idea before I started letting my mind wander with possibilities was Dark/Ice/Ice Dominator, which makes this sound... extremely tempting, given how generally middle-of-the-road /Ice seems to be on a Dominator.

The ambiguity of the special effects of the "plausible" sets I had listed was the primary reason I'm willing to work with them; colored with blacks and grays they can all be passed off as "shadow manipulation" well enough. My only real concern with going /Time is that... I have quite a number of Time Manipulators already, it quickly became one of my favorite support sets when it came out.

My Dark/dark troller is a beast, and was really fun at every level. But you cant go wrong with dark control, anything will be good
