Claws/Invulnerability - My Perfect Build

Let me preface with stating the I am a tier 9 vet, so this build has no travel powers. Also, in this issue on Mids, you can't yet slot ATOs, so in the power [Shockwave], you will find a random assortment of similar IOs, that will be catalyzed ATOs in game. Feel free to critique, but after much thought, this is the build I am going with. I just thought I would share my love of this build with the community.

Please when looking at the build in Mids make sure you have Accolades and Incarnate powers ON, because that is how I have it in game. I already have all the accolades and my tier 4 Alpha Incarnate slotted, so I am not trying to cheat the Totals stats with future bonuses.

This build has crazy amount of Accuracy, about +250% on most powers. It has a net endurance gain of 2.55 end/sec (with Focused Accuracy running!). Once the catalyzed ATOs are slotted, over 130% global recharge. Capped Smashing, Lethal, Energy, and Neg Energy Defense. Capped Hit points (with Perma Dull Pain), and solid Regen for a Invul.

All attacks are solidly (when I say solidly, I mean in the red, percentage wise) slotted with damage, accuracy, and recharge. I have almost every power, that can benefit, at +5 with enhancement boosters... this is intended, and it is how it is in-game.

This is my main... the one toon I will focus on in all endeavors. My attack chain will be full, quick, and deadly. I won't ever need endurance, I won't ever wait for an attack. and I will very rarely miss on any of those attacks. And very, very rarely, will I be hit by anything in PvE situations (with the exception of Incarnate content). This is, IMO, my perfect build! I hope you enjoy!

You honestly don't need anywhere near that much accuracy. Hell you could get rid of both focused accuracy and the normal Acc IOs in KC slotted powers and you would still be fine.

True, but what about when I am fighting level 54-56 Incarnate Content? Which is what the majority of my playtime with be spent doing... it is helpful there.

No, even there you shouldn't need that much accuracy.

Yeah that's a bit overkill, Slot for end redux to keep you battling longer...

I'm gonna echo that you've gone into "ridiculous overkill" territory for accuracy, especially considering you have Follow Up. At the least, you could consider trading Nerve for Agility.

But hey, if your build works and makes you happy, more power to you. /shrug

I mean, I don't see any particular problems with it (Focus is maybe a little underslotted, I guess), I just think you could trade a lot of acc-chasing for other things with no loss in performance.

Fair enough.

But what benefit will Agility vs. Nerve give me? I have more endurance/recovery than I can ever use, even with Focused Accuracy running, which is known as a end hog. Claws is a very quick recharging powerset itself. If there is no break in my attack chain:

Follow Up -> Shockwave -> Energy Torrent -> Spin -> Evicerate -> Focus/Follow Up -> Spin -> Evicerate... etc.

... Then why do I need more Recharge? Dull Pain? I am rarely getting hit, my health barely moves... Dull pain is already Perma and I rarely need it for healing purposes. Damage is also already past the ED cap.

The only attributes that you really can't ever have enough of is Defense... hence another reason for Nerve (Accuracy + Defense). If I drop nerve, most of those powers go down to around 215% and my defense for the most common forms of attack go just below the soft cap of 40%.

What accuracy percentage would one look for to ensure an attack hits the majority of the time when fighting purple-con enemies without debuffs?

I can't give you that number as I'm at work but I can give you a push in the right direction to figure it out for yourself.

According to Paragonwiki, you should have a base hit chance of 20% to hit a level 54 Arch Villain. (+4 Relative level for level 54, +5 relative level for Archvillain, -3 relative level for 3 level shifts.) A level 56 Boss should be a 30% hit rate. (+6 for level, +2 for Boss, -3 for Level Shift) Anyone else reading this, *PLEASE* correct me if I'm missing something about these relative level numbers.

So when you go into Mids, you'll look for an option to set the base hit chance for all Accuracy calculations. (It's 75% by default, replace this with the 20% or 30% or whatever other number you decide you want to use based on a http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Attack_M...cs#Data_Tables) I'm at work right now so I can't load up Mids and tell you exactly which tab the option is in or what the exact text reads as. I'll try to remember to look it up when I get home and edit this post tonight with more details.

This change to Mids will make it so that when you mouse of a power and look at the details, it will show you the actual in game percentage hit percentage against level 54 AV's (Or 56 Bosses if you used 30%) after all of your set bonuses, powers and Incarnate Abilities but before the target's Defense or ToHit DeBuffs.

But, I do have my laptop with me, so I can get to mids now, but ParagonWiki is blocked on my government PC (yet these forums aren't, yay me!). Together maybe me can work this thing out.

That's why I suggested Agility, since it gives the same defense bonus as Nerve. It would be a straight swap: some acc and hold duration (that you will never need at all) versus some recharge and endmod (that you will need rarely). Musculature is worth considering too, especially for a scrapper, but Agility would just be a straight trade-up, instead of a trade-off.

It's actually much easier than that. Enemy rank does not affect their relative level for combat modifiers (including hit chance), only the color they con at. So if you have no level shifts, your base chance to hit a level 54 enemy is 39%, whether they're a minion, boss, or AV. You really will basically never fight an enemy worse than +4, since you'll probably have level shifts yourself by the time you're facing enemies with level shifts. I loaded up your build in Mids, set the base tohit to 39%, and even turned off Focused Accuracy and Follow Up, and all your attacks are still well above the 95% hit cap. Well, except Energy Torrent. That's at a mere 94%.
That leaves 2 situations where it will matter: defense buffs, and tohit debuffs. You've got Focused Accuracy, which provides high enough resistance to debuffs that they're a non-issue. And defense buffs tend to only be a problem when they're very large (Paragon Protector t9s, for example), in which case you need large tohit bonuses to make much difference, not acc bonuses.

Edit: I mean, this is all just fine-tuning, your build looks pretty solid already. But hey, if you want the perfect build, let's see if we can't make it perfect-er

I didn't know that you could tweak the base to-hit. That helps, learn something new everyday... even after all these years of tweaking builds.

Yea, I found it. Thanks.

I dare say... I have made my build better already with you guys help. I took some advice from a friend also, and now I threw in Spring Attack, swapped out Energy Torrent for it. I lost a little recharge because I had to drop the leadership pool (LOTG 7.5%) for Super Jump...but thats ok. I made it so with Focused Accuracy running, I am sitting right at 100% Accuracy (with a base of 30, the lowest I can expect to see) on all powers.

The reason for Spring Attack is an Alpha Strike of my own, where I avoid enemy alpha strikes, as well as instantly get the defensive bonuses from Invincibility. Before, I used Shockwave as a way to avoid alpha strikes, but had to chase them down to get in range for Invincibility, no more! Ha!

So, my accuracy is no longer overkill. I also swapped some IOs around in the armors. I lowered my Energy and Neg Energy defense a bit (still over 40%) and added 3 sets of 3 pieces of Aegis, instead. So my defensive numbers will be around 43% S/L, 36% Fire/Cold, 41% E/NE. This all without Invincibility bonuses.

I have also traded out Nerve for Agility, now I just need to get to T4 again...

This is how he is currently built on live... IO boosters and all.

He is 50+3, Incarnate powers slotted with Musculature, Vorpal, Reactive, Ageless, and Storm Elementals.

All Auto type Accolades are obviously still there, so you can enable those as well.
