Makes me glad I got my membership at the con, although the process they used was incredibly subject to abuse.

Speed record for Comicon maybe, however the record of 'sold out' stand near the 5 minute mark. I believe this was for a concert.
While the previous statement is still correct, the official record lies with a Rugby event.
A 2 day event sold out in 3, yes... 3 minutes.

It's probably at least a speed record for any kind of convention. Given the queue system they had to limit the number of people actually logged into to the server to actually purchase the tickets, it could only go so fast.
Plus, unlike concert or sports tickets, each ticket is assigned to a specific person. So there's an automatic slowdown right there.
sold out in one hour, twenty-two minutes.
That might actually be a speed record for ticket sales.
