Heavy hitters...Challenge?

Been trying to think of builds that can achieve soft capped S/L and make use of both -Res procs. One for -Def power and another for a PbAoe. Bonus points for having status effect protection (without clarion) and additional bonus points for debuffs.

Best I can come up with is

Brute: Street Justice/ Fiery Aura/ Soul Mastery (Status Protection)
Achilles in shin breaker. Glad Fury in Blazing Aura. Combat readiness + Fiery embrace for extra damage. Damage procs all over the place.

Dominator: Mind/ Psi/ Mace (Status Protection. Massive Control. -Regen)
Achilles in posion ray. Glad Fury in Psy shockwave. Around -1000% Regen from Drain Psyche which is twice what a defender/controller/corruptor can do.

Have a couple other builds but Controller, Corruptor, and Blaster dont like mezzes. Stalkers lack point blank Aoe. Only plan on having my one defender and mastermind for now so havent looked into those builds. Arach Soldier looks promising but dont plan on making one for a very long time. Claws or Broadsword scrappers seem like a good choice as both can fit -Res procs without relying on secondary or APP/PPP. Also capable of doing it with a Tank but want to have the choice to play solo so the tank is next to the Arach Soldier in the "I'll get to it eventually" pile.

So for all you build experts what other combinations can make use of demolishing Resistance. The more "sturdy" the toon the better. Sturdy meaning soft capped defenses, Resistances, status protection, without end issues and any debuffs. Realize not going to be able to have all of those but the more the better.

Katana can also fit both -res procs in their top ST attack chain. Honestly though for what I think you want (maximizing -res with procs while having heavy dps, survivable, and status protection) you already mentioned one of your best choices (Stj/FA).

I will however mention a Fire/Cold/Dark corr, it does stray a bit from your very specific list, but when it comes to debuffing with high damage and high survivability, you can't beat it. They will be able to put out far more -res than any melee build (even without the glad fury -res proc) and you can get ~50% s/l res and good resists to everything else sans psy. You can softcap Melee and Ranged defense, which will also deflect ~95% of all incoming mezzes, the remaining 5% can be easily covered by carrying a few break frees. Heat Loss gives you unlimited endurance and you will be one of the best debuffers in the game with high damage.

I actually considered a fire/cold corr before I realized status effects would ruin my destroying enemies. I'll have to play around with that combo in mids next time i'm on a pc.

I'm all for making a corruptor or controller to make use of the debuffs but since I play solo much more than I team accomplishing the characters that can survive alone have a higher priority.

Just keep in mind that the majority of mezzes are ranged, so softcapping ranged defense eliminates most of them, meaning you won't be getting mezzed very often at all.

Crab Spider.

It's trivial to get to 32% def (all) without using any set bonuses, which puts you a small purple from the softcap. You can easily cap M/R/AoE or S/L/F/C/E/N with sets, based on your personal preference. You also get reasonable resist (all) and a Dull Pain clone for the hits that get through. Depending on which one(s) of the level 1 armors you take, you have mag 2 or 4 (or 6 if you take both) protection against all forms of mez except knockback. Since they're Resist powers, both accept Steadfast Protection for the +3% def and the -KB IO (and a recovery bonus if you slot both in one power). The Resistance toggle adds even more mez protect.

There's a few defense powers in the set, so you have lots of places to slot LotG +rech, there's a very diverse mix of powers, so lots of places for purples, and there's a built-in +recharge power, so you can spam whatever proc-filled attacks you want.

Most of the powers accept Defense Debuff sets, so there's lots of places for Achilles Heel procs, and I can't remember if the PVP proc is TAoE or PBAoE, but you've got at least one of each.

Oh, and you get tons of spiders to buff with double Assault and swarm your enemies with. Without any slotting at all, I'm pretty sure you can keep one tier of pets out at all times, getting them all perma doesn't take too much work.

One last edit: The only things on your "I know I can't have it all" list that I missed are debuffs and sustainable endurance. Almost all your attacks debuff Defense, and Venom Grenade debuffs Resistance. You gan also pick up a couple nice debuffs in your patron pool, depending on which you take. And as far as the endurance goes, your Inherent increases your base recovery and regen, so not only do you start with higher values, but buffs give you a bigger benefit. Go grab your +End accolades, slot Stamina, and remember to get some end reduction in your attacks, and you can go forever.

@Dread, I did consider ranged def to deal with mezzes but the Glad Fury proc dictates i be in melee. I'll have to see if there is a build that can hit S/L and Ranged without sacrificing too much recharge.

@Roderick, you make a very good point. I played around with a Crab on mids and it seemed very good.

As a side note I apparently missed that stalkers have spine burst, burst, and lightning rod. Tho not sure how the recharge on lightning rod is and cant check cause im on my mac. Also I know lightning rod is good for opening as it doesnt break hide but would debuffing the enemies res with Glad fury proc grab aggro?

Any proc that causes damage or debuff will notify enemies.

Even if it didn't, the damage from Lightning Rod will notify enemies. Since they can't aggro on the source of the damage (the untargetable pseudopet), they'll go for the next thing on the aggro list: you. If you don't have a really high defense, the enemies will break your Hide before you can get an Assassin Strike off, and might even hit you even if you're softcapped. Your best bet as an elec/ stalker would be to target the boss, LR in, queue Thunder Strike while LR animates, and get as many crits as you can score off the two AoEs.

Actually, after i22 goes live, Lightning Rod -> Thunder Strike -> Uninterruptable unhidden Assassin Strike (plus Stalker proc) -> rehidden by proc -> Fireball -> Placate -> Thunder Strike would give you several AoEs in a row from a Hidden state (and thus a 50% crit chance on each target). And LR and TS will both take the PVP -res proc.
