Experienced Power limit

My new characters start out with 20 charges of the Experienced power, because I've been playing forever (I might be exaggerating). I also got like 1 million (again, perhaps an exaggeration) more "charges" bound to my account due to my Super Pack Shopping Spree.

So I used one of the initial 20 charges on a character, which, using my l33t match skills (and checking with my 10 year old daughter who apparently does math stuff at school), left me with 19 charges. I then claimed one of the "Experienced" charges from the packs from the email's "Account Bound" stuff. That left me with.... 19. My daughter says that's not right.

So, I'm probably doing something wrong here. Does claiming them from the Account Bound email actually fire the power off when it's claimed, which would probably have put me over the 1 level of Patrol XP at the time?

Or was it because the character I was playing at the time a stalker? It's because I'm a stalker, isn't it?

CoH has been unique in the sea of cloned MMOs.There are years of possibilities still
in such a well designed, well supported and well loved game.Shutting it down now doesn't
make sense on any level except, perhaps, on some spreadsheets bottom line. I do not
consider this an act of a company that has the interests of its customers at heart. This
calls into question why I would want to be part of any further ventures involving NCSoft.

There's no limit that I've ever heard of, but it's possible that the "character" and "account" versions are listed separately in your Powers tab, and might have to be added to your trays as different powers. You've likely got 19 of one version and 1 of another (which will work the same, but have to be in different places on the list for back-end reasons). Open your Powers tab and make a thorough check through the third column; my guess is there are two listings for it.

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

as far as i know the ones you get from the super packs work seperately and they work for 1 hour, the ones from vet rewards give patrol xp and if i'm correct they do work together. so after using the one from the vet rewards you will still have 19 left, and just under a millions of the super pack charges left

If your gonna play follow the leader just make sure the leader is taking you where you want to go.

Doctor Roswell is correct. The two different sources of Experienced do not combine into a single "stack", so it should just be listed separately in your temporary powers.

The "Experienced" power (5 bars of patrol XP per use, handed out per-character as a "bonus" when certain rewards are chosen or found as a per-account version in Super Packs) is different from an "XP Booster" power (125% XP for an hour, always awarded per-account, purchasable as repeatable tier 9 award or found in Super Packs). I think they do work together, yes.

Ah! That makes sense. I have like 30+ powers in that list (not an exaggeration), so it popping up as a separate power probably escaped me. It shouldn't have escaped my daughter, tho. Why do I even send her to school?

Thanks all.

You are probably thinking of the XP Booster, which gives you 25% XP for an hour. You can get both the Experienced temp power, which gives patrol xp, and XP Boosters from the packs. They really need to think about renaming "Experienced" to something like "Patrol Booster" or the such. It's rather confusing.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

This is true - I have yet to have the pleasure of dealing with the trials and tribulations of youngsters...sadly this will likely make my comment slightly less humorous that I originally believed it to be. oh well. I'll just have to sharpen my wit on another thread...I'll see you there!

This is what happened.

I claimed mine the same as you did and had 20 charges. Then I claimed a couple that I got from Super Packs and they showed up in my Powers tab as a separate thing with 2 charges.
