Help me pick a tanker

Hi fellow tankers!

I want to roll a tanker, but im unsure about which sets. I have a level 50 fire/fire which I rolled back before the ED but I want something more resilient (yes, I know that fire can be made very sturdy, but other sets will get sturdier too :P )

I dont want Fire Armour nor Willpower (I have a WP scrapper) nor Stone. I dont want fire melee nor StJ.

I want a tank that can go toe to toe with AVs in trials, or any TF. I was checking, mostly, Elec and Shield, but I´m open to everything. For secondaries, Im placing my eyes on both Shadow (seems to have great utility and a self heal, but crap for AoE) and Ice (some AoE + patch). But as I said, Im open to suggestions.

Also, it should be able to fullfill its role while levelling, not only at 50, but I guess that wont be an issue.

Suggestions, please? Solo capabilities are an extra to be considered

Thanks!

I have a Shield/SS tanker and he does well. Foot Stomp is your only AoE from the melee set and you do not get it until lvl 38. I have never played a Titan Weapon, but from what I have seen they have have some nice cone attacks and a PBAoE. TW cannot be played with shield so I guess a Elec Tanker with TW is a good choice. I do have a DM/Shield Brute with Soul Mastery and with the combination of debuffs and shield defense it would make a great tanker combo. My favorite part of the DM is the self heal that makes up for not having one in the primary set.

Proton Sentry Peacebringer:lvl 50+++ - Human Build / Triform Build
Quasar Sentry Warshade:lvl 50+- Human Build / Triform Build
Red Katipo Arachnos Soldier:lvl 50+++ - Crab Build / Bane Build
Black Katipo Arachnos Widowlvl 50+++ - Fortunata Build / Night Widow Build

I vote for you to try SD/SS Ive never had any trouble lvling, felt extremely tanky in tf's and teams, very rare any trouble even without Aid Self which i got later lvls in 50 with only alpha T3 im running +4/x8 worrieless Tanking in incarnate is very easy with the defence numbers you get as Shielder.

Only downside in SD/SS is until you get some recharge and hasten, your ragecrash takes away your defence 50% of the time when you crash. But in lv50 im capped defence resistance most of the time and only get the -25% defence... once a day tops

Im considering SD/SM. I forgot to say that I already have a SS character, so I would prefer to roll another thing

Thanks for your comments so far!

I'd second SD/SS. If you build for Spring Attack, this tank becomes an AoE monster. And soft-capped no less!
