Doorways, what to do with them?

Doorways are my biggest obstacle in basebuilding. Its extremely difficult to create a seamless transition from room to room depending on the theme of the base.

Its easier now that we can rotate items but even that can only do so much.

What do some of you seasoned builders do with the doorways?

my advice is to <oh god>

wait for development...

Back when we could briefly decorate doorways, I found a bug that would allow you to move your sg entrance portal outside of the base building area.

It was un-fixable once broken and upon zoning into your sg you would... fall... forever...

other than completely opening or almost closing the doorways there's not much else you can do... but wait for further base related developments that will provide an update for decorating doorways.

I know this doesn't help but its all I have.

edit: well I say that's all I have, one workaround is you can "decor" the entrances to rooms to actually "strip down" to bare walls and whatnots- for a sort of transition, but I'm sure that is not what you are looking for.


Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

You can kinda sorta decorate them a little bit now that you can rotate items, because rotating items tends to distort their bounding boxes, making it possible to "overlap" the item into doorways.

This only particularly works with larger floor items, cause smaller items are just too, well, small, to protrude very far into the door area.
