Chainsaw Melee?

With the upcoming release of Lollipop Chainsaw -

I was wondering if anyone else thought that it'd be fun to see a weapon like a chainsaw, hacksaw, or any saw in general to be introduced into the game? Maybe something a little edgier when it comes to weapons (Titan Weapon perhaps?) akin to Tri-Edge (Azure Kite) vs Haseo .Hack GU
Actually, any auras that spread down the weapons would be cool too. Maybe the first step would be aura's for weapons in general (flames) -- I was thinking of the Phoenix wings seen in the new packs, maybe add those effects to the weapons.

Mostly though I'm loving the way Lollipop Chainsaw is looking, I mean just incredible and it got me thinking of the weapons we have in game seem a bit dated. I'd love to see something more thriller induced, and the idea of Chainsaw Melee or weapons with spinning animations or a wider variety of weapons would make me one happy lil camper.

What do you all think? What other weapons (and references) would you like to see?

Grapple/web powers. Yes, the prerequisite travel power, swinging through the buildings, would be difficult in, oh, Croatoa's farm lands... but still.

And, walking on walls/ceilings. Definitely. Grapple would work there too, just claws on the knees, feet and hands...

August 31, 2012. A Day that will Live in Infamy. Or Information. Possibly Influence. Well, Inf, anyway. Thank you, Paragon Studios, for what you did, and the enjoyment and camaraderie you brought.
This is houtex, aka Mike, signing off the forums. G'night all. - 10/26/2012
Well... perhaps I was premature about that whole 'signing off' thing... - 11-9-2012

your = Belonging to you.
you're = Contraction meaning "You are."

It wouldn't bother me to see something like a chainsaw melee powerset. But given that this game has pretty much managed to avoid anything even remotely blood and/or guts oriented I doubt we'll ever see something like that here. Having bloodless sword attack powers is "unrealistic" enough but having bloodless chainsaws would look pretty weird.

This game is technically rated "Teen" but clearly they want it to be as "kid/family" friendly as possible. *shrugs*

I get your point, however they put in zombies. ZOMBIES. Man eating, ugly, vicious, even giant mushufoo Zombies. Also nearly naked men, skimpy women, and the guys who summon those giant Totems (tribes men) wearing only a towel. Okay, well ceremonial sash of some kind but still.

The point with that?

I want to hack up some zombies. lol. I would like to rip through them for fun, and it would make for an awesome ''zombie survival'' arc powerset, or even temporary weapon. Baseball bats, clubs, shotguns and hand guns are already in game. Now we need a chainsaw for epic awesomeness. I would waste quite the effort on an AE mission that no one would probably run due to how difficult it would be, and also how relentless the patrols would seem. Hundreds of zombies, zombies everywhere!

Well just think of the classic comic books when it comes to this game. They had plenty of zombies and women wearing nothing but "painted on" spandex but they rarely had overt blood and gore. They certainly did not have the "animated gore" you'd be able to have in a video game like this.

Once again I wouldn't mind a more violent and gory version of this game myself. But just like how Hollywood usually tries to keep movies from being R-rated just to get more families to go see them I figure this game probably tries to avoid too much gore just to keep parents from complaining too much. Silly parents.

I for one would love too have Chainsaw Melee!

They could always just make it so there is no gore.

I mean, we already have guns & swords but we don't see any blood shed or limbs getting chopped off.

Eh, guns and swords with no obvious blood is sort of workable/acceptable. Sure it's not completely "realistic", but at least you could potentially shoot or stab someone without showers of blood from every single hit. On the other hand swinging a chainsaw at someone almost always includes severed limbs and/or gallons of blood flying all over the place. Frankly if we couldn't have realistic gore with chainsaws in this game I rather not have the chainsaws at all.

I guess what I'm saying is that the idea of "bloodless chainsaws" are just a bit too unrealistic to be worthwhile.
